So this review is coming off of 50+ visits. I go here A LOT. Almost every weekend. There's nothing not to like about this place (besides not being open for dinner). Everything (I've tried it all) on the menu is great, but my go to's are the burritos and burgers. It's vegan friendly, too. Absolutely fantastic food plus some sweets like donuts. Their staff is incredibly friendly and caring. The location is also close enough to downtown to walk and has ample parking. A big plus for me was also that they were super covid-conscious through the pandemic and made ordering easy even when they weren't doing indoor dining. Desiree Nudd coordinated everything in advance and was very helpful as we made final selections (even providing dimensions of each piece so we could calculate how much to order). It's one thing to provide variety but when you do it all right and consistently, it makes all the difference! Their vegan and gluten free options for breakfast and sweet treats are so tasty and delicious you cannot tell the difference! Parking is easy as they have their own parking plus additional across the street. There is seating outside which is nice to enjoy as they have a great view to enjoy their outside art work with fresh air. Inside is so cute with the vibrant colorful local artist work on the walls along with the plants. Good seating options for booths, tables, and stools at the "bar area". They also provide WiFi and have a shelf with numerous items to buy to support other local businesses with reusable straws, greeting cards, photography, and their own merchandise too. I love how intimate they are in their customer service and how invested they are to serve and support the local community. Savage Goods is our go to spot for vegan donuts and cookies! Our favorite cookies are the sea salt and the oatmeal pecan. The ratio for cookie to chocolate chip and nuts for both cookies is perfect along with the soft chewy inside of the cookies. My family's favorite meal is breakfast so having breakfast from Savage Goods is a family favorite treat to indulge. Family favorite donuts include the classic glaze, chocolate with sprinkles, strawberry, and their seasonal churro, and lavender. I am more of a bagel girl rather than a donut girl so I usually choose their vegan breakfast burrito: burrito savage scramble that consists of a tofu scramble, with potatoes, grilled onions, and vegan cheese, wrapped in a tortilla. Served with house salsa. It's a packed burrito that is very fulfilling as a protein and potato morning fix to enjoy especially on the go. I also love pastries which they have seasonal options and some of my favorites include their raspberry danish, so flaky, so fresh with the raspberry filling and the icing make the perfect balance of sweetness, their seasonal scones, and pound cakes especially the raspberry! We have special ordered for birthday and anniversaries cakes from them along with pies during the holiday season. They definitely know how to make vegan goodies savage good! I love their vegan sandwich options which include the veggie sandwich with house made hummus and veggies and the marinated tofu with veggies. It's a bonus they also make house-made chips and the salad option is also a refreshing side. The options change with seasons too so stay up to date with their Instagram or website to know what options are currently available. They also have a vegan burger option but I have not tried it yet. I really hope they can extend their hours again but truthfully I am so happy for their innovation during these past two years to adapt and to keep their consistency during these times! They minimized their menu and also had a take home family dinner option and have been so resilient to continue to serve our community with grace and joy! I can only speak for the blueberry donut, but damn that was devine! For less than $2 you can get a super fresh yeast risen fried donut with a light, not too sweet glaze. I was in heaven when I ate it. The vibe of the place is coffee shop chic and is minimalist. There were plenty of parking spots out front and plenty of tables inside. I had the Sweets & Beets breakfast and an Earl grey tea. Earl Grey was Mighty Leaf (I dig this brand), and the meal was just awesome. The beets were tender and the potatoes were almost the same texture. All very good, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I also tried the chimichurri, which came in a small container on the side, but tried so hard not to get all the oil on my food. The flavor, though, was sooo good. Okay, this place has made it to the top of my national vegan list. I would definitely come back to try the rest of their baked goods. Raspberry cream cheese danish: the BEST croissant I've had since coming back from France 8 years ago. This croissant was lightly glazed, crisp and sweet on the outside, with flaky buttery layers, all incorporated into this beautiful little danish. Not only is it vegan, but it's at the top of my list for baked goods in general, another reason I could never justify having non vegan pastries, because these vegan pastries are exemplary as to why it's just so much more flavorful. thankfully not a clunk of cream cheese, but just the right amount to meddle with the delicious berries, which really stood out on their own, not as a syrup or jam, but actual raspberry as a main character. As the girl at the front said, they're made with love! Their donuts looked delectable and I really really wanted to try one but was just way too stuffed from all my vegan explorations. But I could tell the way it was made is just how I'd like it. Fried to perfection with that perfect lite glaze. The lemon poppy seed scone was amazing!!! I love my scones moist and crumbly, not cakey. And this was just the scone! You can tell with each bite that they use real good quality ingredients and don't skimp either! The chocolate chip oat banana bread was also super moist and delicious! Chocolate chip and oats complemented with a bit of sweetness and a nice chew. Their prices are also super reasonable! Other vegan bakeries makeup their pastries to anywhere from $5-7 which is ridiculous. But they actually offer theirs for $1.5 and it is seriously the best I've had during my vegan exploration across the world. It speaks volume. Well well... this place is a little diamond in the rough. Just note.. you order at the counter (no table service). The location is across from downtown area. Let's start off with the outside- tiny parking lot but does have street parking. The building itself is simple but hipster inside. They do have a bar with specialty beer and coffee. Let's talk food: first off people were not lying when it comes to their donuts. They do not taste vegan!!!! They taste just as good as regular donuts.. makes me think.. are they vegan??? Lol. I tried their famous strawberry ones and BOMB!!! I understand why someone came in and ordered 6! I also tried their peanut butter oats banana bread... a little dry but could be due to all pastry being out in the open rather than a closed case. But willing to try other pastries. Admit it, that latte art is made for Instagram. Location - Downtown! Parking is a bit iffy. The parking lot itself is big enough for 6 cars, but other than that, it's street parking. Luckily, I circled around once and saw a car leaving the parking lot. Ambiance - Super cute! Simplistic, white, and clean with lots of natural lighting. There's even a little bar area to sit at, a couple of booths, and individual tables. There were plenty of people here doing work and studying (myself included). Service - You order at the front and thing bring it to you. The workers were really nice and helpful in giving recommendations and answering my questions. Food: I got a regular latte which was okay, but I wish I had been able to grab a donut! They looked so good. Next time, for sure. Pricing - The pricing is pretty average for a coffee shop/restaurant. Nothing too expensive, but also not too cheap either. Overall, Savage Goods is a great place to study and hangout at. Their interior is bright and clean, food and drinks are decently priced, and it doesn't get crazy crowded. The only downside would be the parking situation, but other than that, I wouldn't mind coming back here for another study session. read more

Wow, what a find! Kind of close to downtown but not quite there (though, walkable). The place itself it decorated with street art outside and on the inside is industrial looking but comfortable enough that I'd totally sit there for hours doing work (which some uni students were). The folks working there are all sweet and helpful. After much deliberation, I ordered the Roasted Veggie Sandwich. Good decision! It was sooooo delicious and all is amplified by the homemade bread. I never eat chips, but the scratch made thick-cut potato chips are GREAT. My friends got the BLRT and the Rustic Salad with chicken and both were equally as impressed. This is a smaller spot in downtown. It definitely is more of a hipster type of restaurant, but the food and the drinks are really good. We had a chorizo burrito, which was really flavorful. I got a few brews and some pastry, which were also really good. A little more on the expensive end but the food tasted fresh and definitely did not disappoint. The service was really good too, I don't think that I waited too long for a pretty large order. Like I said, the space is smaller, but it was still OK and I was able to find a seat at the bar to wait for my takeout order.
