I dealt with Cierra at SCR and my experience could not have been better. My car broke down outside of Savannah on my way from FL to DC for a business trip. The dealership didn't have a loaner available. Enterprise, National, and Alamo at the airport wouldn't rent me a vehicle to drive out-of-state without a return ticket. Long story short, SCR rented me a brand new vehicle the next day (on a few hours' notice) so I could continue my trip to DC. They also charged me about $400 less than what Enterprise et al. quoted for two weeks. Cannot recommend them enough. Went to pickup my rental found out that I was late and they gave my rental to someone else. The lady at the desk (MADISON BURKE) was very short and nasty ( Racist) No help at all. I tried to tell her if I was explained about all the info about picking up a rental I would have picked it up in time. When I made the reservation I was not notified about the time frame if I was I would have been there. I have rented cars from them for years. But this time I felt soo different as soon as I walked in I didn't feel welcome. Worst rental ever!! We had a rental for Thurs 4:30 thru Sat 02:00 but were called hours before our rental was due to have it returned otherwise our card would be charged for additional days. There was no explanation as to why but apparently the rental agreement meant nothing to Shaun who called. Later she gave conflicting stories to her superior. Superior apologized and offered a free rental day, which we politely declined. He later credited $50. Never again.!! read more

Worst service ever! My insurance company reserved a rental for me to drive while my car was being repaired. They were supposed to deliver the car to the auto repair shop but they never showed up. I waited and waited and I called while I was there and was told "We are doing the best we can". After waiting over an hour I got a ride home from the manager of the collision place. read more

We had the absolute WORST small business experience with this company. We reserved a vehicle a month in advance (opting to book with a local business outside of the airport) for our Hilton Head vacation. We had a printed confirmation for the reservation that we brought with us and had also called a few days prior just to reconfirm that everything was set for our arrival and pick up. When our Lyft dropped us off at the Savannah location, we were told there was NO CAR available for us. They had reservations for over 30 vehicles that day, but only 18 cars available. We were three ladies from out of state stranded with luggage on the sidewalk and they refused to help us or resolve the issue in any way. As a small business owner myself, I was appalled that they would treat customers this way and not follow though on bookings. Thankfully, Enterprise (shout out to Tory!) on Abercorn Street came to our rescue. They upgraded us to an SUV, didn't charge for additional drivers and offered us an even better price than we would have paid at Savannah Car Rentals. They saved our trip and took such good care of us after they heard what we had been through! Savannah Car Company is one business where going small and local is NOT the way to go. read more

I wish I could not rate them at all. First off when I got to the dealership, Sean had me wait for like 15 minutes before she acknowledged my presence, she was cackling with a worker from the dealership. I also noticed a sign that said the deposit was $150 but she charged me $250, also I reserved online for a compact card but the charged me $78 dollars a day. Also when I asked about their promotions that they have, she said I had to met the eligibility to get the discount. also she stated that I had to return the car by close of business on saturday, which she told me was 2'oclock but the website says 3. so she claimed that she called to see if I was going to extend until Tuesday, since Monday was a holiday, I said yes. So apparently the car went up to $108 a day. Straight price gauging. Sean and the black girl who answers the phone is very rude. so when I said I was at work and could not make it to the bank to make sure my card was unblocked( they ran my card 4 times and locked that locked my card) she shut the vehicle off as I was driving and it stalled on me in the middle of the road. So I had to convince her to turn the car on so I could move it out the street. then I asked could I extend until Saturday and she said it had to be until Monday, because the rental reservation was pending for another person. she shut the car off again and told me I would have to get it towed to the rental place. I had the money to pay, I was just trying to extend my reservation. This place is corrupt, their rental is still beside the road, because I will not pay for a tow, when they can just turn the car on. They are looking for reasons to hold your deposit. BE WARNED! I rented a car for the first time on Friday to travel to Atlanta. I am new to Savannah and thought I would rent local. When I booked online I was told they had a car they didn't have. The woman who answered gave no explanation just said over and over, we don't have that car, which confused me because I wondered if I was talking to the right location. Anyway, I confirmed that I would be late to pick up my car on Friday - the day of my rental - 30 minutes after I said I would arrive, I called to get directions. A woman answered the phone and VERY CURTLY told me that my reservation was gone. She literally said, when I told her I had confirmed that I would be late, "and what does that mean? I can't hold a car for you on Friday." Again, we are talking less than 30 minutes. The same woman continued to be brusque and share little to NO information about the condition, just wrote and typed. She did however inspect the car to within an inch of its life. As I pulled out in the car,I noticed a very pungent smoke smell,but I did not have time to turn around and decided instead to get air spray to endure the stench. When I returned, the staff all but accused me of lying when I said I didnt smoke in the car. They professed to have proof in "ashes" that were left in the car. What a joke! I DO NOT SMOKE AND DID NOT SMOKE IN THAT CAR. Yet, they were convinced that I did, looking inside the rubber grips of the window on the drive side. Never once did they apologize to ME FOR THE AWFUL STENCH THAT WAS IN THE CAR. I had to wear my mask for the entire drive to Atlanta that is how bad it was. As I was leaving, I was told there "is one other thing I saw..." she mentioned the gas was not on Full. I did not pick it up on Full and as a matter of fact I RETURNED IT WITH MORE GAS THAN I TOOK IT WITH. She "noticed" this a few minutes later. Again, THEY ARE SEARCHING FOR WAYS TO KEEP YOUR MONEY. After I left they called me back and said there was a scuff on the bumper of the car and that they were going to hold my deposit until they checked out the damage. I did not have the energy to keep debating these people. DO NOT COME HERE -- trust me they will attempt to KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT. read more

Easy pick up and drop off with kind and caring staff. We saved hundreds by going with them instead of an airport car rental company. All it takes is a quick $25 Uber ride to and from Savannah Car Rental/airport and you're good to go! You'd be crazy to spend your money elsewhere if you need a car in Savannah. read more

The car we rented kept losing air in one of the tires. We had to keep putting air in it, which was frustrating. A week and a half after returning it, they told us they were charging our credit card for a expensive new tire because there was a nail in it. Since this company is part of a dealership, they should have a tire repair/replacement warranty on all of their tires. I would not recommend renting from this company. read more

This place is a joke!! Rented a vehicle while vacationing in savannah. was driving the vehicle on the highway and a truck passed and threw a rock on windshield. I was told I would have to pay 595$ to fix the windshield my insurance has a $500 deductible so I figured it would be better to pay it on my own they kept my $150 deposit and I paid $200 the day I returned the rental with the agreement that I would call in the end of the month to pay the 245 before it got sent to collections. Lo and behold it automatically came out of my bank account a week later despite me being told I could call in to make the payment they are nothing but full of excuses and apologies. I also asked for a breakdown of how they came up with that price for a crack in windshield. Never received it! BEWARE of this company. They are only out to make money!!! It seems they would rather deal with useless thugs that ignore their responsibilities than a hard working female who was just their to show her 83 year old mother a good time. I put in an online rental a few weeks ago at the Savannah location. I got a confirmation for a Altima two days ago. This is not what I rented, but was acceptable. I get a phone call 1 1/2 hours not a day before I leave telling me all they had was a compact car. I can't do a compact car and it is not equal or more to what I requested. There is no way I can drive 16 hours in a compact car. I was in tears because we only have one vehicle for which I have to take leaving a husband without a way to work and a daughter with no way to cheer practice, college classes and work. My best friend and I have planned quite awhile for a trip to NYC. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! I wonder if this will be deleted. My husband works in a large business that he will tell everyone about this bad experience and to stay away. I was told that I could go to Hinesville to pick up one. Savannah Car Rental, The worst place I have ever dealt with as far as customer service!!!! These people are so RUDE and none of them have the slightest clue as to what is going on. I have spoken to 5 different people about a rental I was using and every person has given me the run around and a different price and telling me i owe one amount and another person tells me something different. nobody has a direct answer to any question . Every time i would try and speak i would get cut off and talked over as if i wasn't speaking at all. I have never in my life dealt with such rude and nasty people that are customer service reps. For a business. Tried getting a District manager on the phone and cant get a return call. And the so called store manager would not even get on the phone he was relaying messages through his employee to relay to me. Not to mention they ran my debt card 2 times for over 200$ with in 30 mins of each transaction i only authorized 1 of those transactions and it resulted in my account being over drafted.
