Made reservation for September in March. Received multiple confirmations form Hertz up to and including 2 days before rental. Arrived to "no cars" and "no reservation" despite having paperwork and confirmation in hand. They flatly refused to help resolve the situation. Their sister location (airport -- same franchise, apparently) was just as bad. They complained that Hertz corporate shouldn't be sending customers to them. (Yes, while wearing a Hertz uniform and standing under a Hertz sign.) Finally coughed up a dirty car after an hour wait. Charged the wrong card (not the one I *handed* them) and surreptitiously changed the rate to charge mileage (vs. original unlimited plan). Every question/ask for help was responded to with "We're a franchise: we refuse to help you." And Hertz corporate was just as bad... "They are a franchise: they can do whatever they want (or don't want)." read more

If you're looking for a place to cancel your reservation at the last minute you've found your place. It doesn't matter if you have a confirmation or not, she will cancel it. The only reason for giving two stars is I have to give Amber credit for having the balls to not only hang up on a customer but to then continually decline calls. Not often a customer is treated like that so have to give credit where credit is due. read more

One of the worst places to rent vehicles...the customer service from Jaquan Jackson was rude and unprofessional...not only did he fail to provide quality service, he walked away in the middle of my transaction while I was talking to him and said he was going on break. My daughter and I asked him for his name and he refused to reply. His co-worker Crystal arrived during the conflict and she was non-responsive as well. I wasted time at this facility to end up with nothing. I received better service at at different location which was 3 1/2 hours away. read more

I think car rental places often get the bane of reviews for a variety of reasons and I myself have left at least one for neighboring location of Enterprise which as a negative was well deserved. However in my monthly rentals from this location over the past 6 to 8 months? I've had nothing but great customer service, friendly staff who have made the most of their newer location and also for having done their best with their internet being down for what was weeks I believe. If anything Hertz should look to these guys for what its like to be thrown to not just one fire, but multiple fires. They remind me of a sport's team in an underdog way who do their best for their clients. So kudos to Eddie, Taquan, William, Mr. Daniels and Steve! read more

Where do I start! After issues with Safeway insurance (be prepared for headaches if you have to deal with this company!!) I was instructed to get a rental from HERTZ. They (ERIN) were EXTREMELY helpful and kind. Not just your regular customer service experience, but beyond. My patience was already at 1 and "ERIN" reassured me constantly that Hertz would take care of it and SHE DID!! Kudos young lady for a job well done. From arranging pick up and drop off in a timely manner to making sure all my documents were in order for reimbursement. For just making a bad experience bearable I must say Thank You! read more

I had the best car return experience here. They offered the option of emailing my receipt or checking the car and print it right away. No hassles. I asked the best way to get back to the Historic District, expecting a bus. After he said Uber, he processes my receipt then offered me a Lyft ride that Hertz paid for. This is outstanding customer service. I will rent here again. read more

Friendly staff but bad experience. Was provided a price by phone per day for a car and provided our Hertz member number and told u was all set. Showed up the next day for the car and the prices had changed and there was nothing in the computer about my discussion with staff the day before. They would not honor the lower price, the employer told me he could only offer prices listed in their system at the moment of price inquiry. I will not be back to Hertz for my rental needs. Screw them. Treated me poorly. Enterprise has a site in Thunderbolt..go there. Dishonest treatment..or incompetence by Hertz. read more

I have rented many cars in the past at various places. This is the first and only time I will rent from this location. Door hours say open at 8am. The person who handles rentals wouldn't give anyone a car until 9am. A lady had walked in right in front of me, so she took her first (as she should have). This person had no reservation. She proceeded to show her 4 vehicles, despite the woman saying she had zero preference for what size car she got. Then she had to clean the car, and literally went inside and out with this same customer 4 times, spending 50 minutes to rent out this one car. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for my reserved car, because this is the only person working who handles rentals. When another employee arrives and finally helps me, she does not have a full size car for me. Then she informs me that the car will not have a full tank of gas. Then she has to clean the car because it was just returned during the night. It's been over an hour, and I'm still standing here waiting for my car that was reserved. If you need a car in any reasonable sort of time, do not rent here. On the plus, she is at least cleaning the car. Oh- and it gets better. Still waiting (now it's been 1.5 hours) as I got in it to drive and it has low tire pressure. Run away fast from this location. Well- still haven't left- now it's 2 hours later. The a/c doesn't work in the car. So now I am waiting for a smaller car to be cleaned. They tried to give it to me for the same cost as the full size I paid for. I had to tell her I expect a discount since it's a smaller car than what I prepaid for. $25 discount. We had 3 cars in a 6 week rental. The first one smelled so incredibly bad the the people before us must of had a party in it. Had to wait for the windshield to be replaced. Second car, the sensors kept going off. Called many times to hertz and no one cared and only gave us a few points for our inconvenience. How sad for such a huge company. read more

I reserved a car at this location due to their complimentary pickup service. We had a 9 am pickup scheduled. The business had our address and phone number on file. We called at 9:05 and were informed that no one was available to pick us up for 30-60 minutes and that cars were currently unavailable. No one at the business had called to notify us of this problem, nor apologized. We informed the representative that we planned to walk, and requested a call for pick up as soon as possible. After a 75 minute walk through the Savannah heat and humidity through an unsafe neighborhood, we arrived. The Hertz representative was unapologetic upon our arrival and accused us of being dishonest. read more

I would never rent from here again. The salesman tried to force us to pay for the additional insurance. After pulling up an online version of my insurance card, he then stated that he needed to see collision insurance. So basically, he wanted a print out of my entire insurance policy! I reserved a midsize vehicle, when I got there they wanted to upgrade me to a Ram 2500, that wasn't an upgrade to me, so I politely declined. Only to be surprised that it was the only car left, so I was stuck with a big truck trying to park in downtown Savannah, where the spaces are already tight. I was told I can trade out the next day and that they should have more cars. Fine, if that was the best that could be done, I decided I trade out the following day. The next day comes and I call to trade my car, I was told they don't have any mid size vehicles only compact and it would be ready in 30 mins, this was at 1100 am. I get there at 2:00 PM and the car isn't even ready, was told it's still at the shop and has to be picked up, however, there was no urgency to get the car. Oh, I'm still being charged for a midsize. Finally, at about 2:30 PM I get my car. I would recommend staying away from Hertz on 1800 E Victory Drive, Savannah GA. Because I would give them no stars if I could. read more

The worst car and service I have ever received. Will never use Hertz again. Firstly they didn't have the car I ordered. Then they tried to persuade me that a pick-up truck was an upgrade. When I got into it, it smelt like someone had died in it. When I asked for a replacement they twice promised they would bring me one but never did! When I called the customer service line they told me the branch was now closed and I should drive an hour round trip to get a replacement. Pathetic! Never ever again. read more

As a long time Hertz Gold Plus member, I have always used Hertz for my car rental needs. I chose Hertz for the high quality reputation and trust that I would receive the best quality product and customer service. This experience was the worst I have could have had. The "Luxury" vehicle was dirty with over 21,000 miles. The windshield looked as if it had been wiped with an oily rag, only noticeable after we had left the airport. Then we encounter a flat tire the same day as we picked up the car. I called the 1-800 number to attempt to have it repaired or a new vehicle exchanged. i was told I could ride an hour in a tow truck or wait until Monday and go to the Hilton Head location (where we were staying) to have it repaired or exchanged the next day. Rather than lose a half day of my vacation I elected to wait. We went to the HH location early the next morning, only to be told that we would not be helped - very rudely - by the woman at the counter. She told us that because we did not purchase the insurance the tire was our problem. So I spent another half day having the Hertz tire repaired, ruining our vacation. I spent nearly $100 in Fix-a-Flat and air pump fees and having the tire ultimately repaired. I have always felt that paying a little more for better customer service was worthwhile, and being a Gold Plus member would have benefit. Hertz has failed me badly. I will not make the mistake of trusting Hertz with my business again. read more
