Once again great coffee. Avocado toast a 5/5 was fantastic last time here. This time had the egg biscuit which was so dry it just crumbled when I touched it 2/5 We also had the Bagel and lox, not traditional setup at all. 3/5
Yummy coffee! I tried a honey bee almond latte and it was yummy! Open space, with lots of people being assisted so we did have to wait a little, but we loved the local vibes. My partner tried the cinnamon latte which was super yummy!
First Impression: I'm Sold! After years of being a Starbucks girl, I finally had to admit it... the flavor is gone, but the prices stayed. I was craving something new and soulful, and that led me to Savannah Coffee Roasters--and wow, what a breath of fresh air! I parked out front (heads up, it's paid parking there, but I found out there's free parking around the building too) and walked into a space that gave me serious cozy Barnes & Noble before-the-stools vibes. You remember when they had couches you could melt into? That's the feel here, but even more welcoming. I just stood there for a second soaking it in, already imagining myself curled up with a book or getting some work done in comfort. And let's talk pastries. The display case was a dream--so beautiful I forgot half of what I saw because I was too busy drooling over everything. But the real highlight was Kylee, who greeted me with the sweetest smile and the sharpest cat-eye. She made me feel like an old friend. I told her it was my first time there and she was more than happy to walk me through the menu. I ordered The Egglethorpe, which is hands-down the best breakfast sandwich I've had in a long time. Spicy pork sausage, scrambled eggs, smoked gouda, red onion jam, all served on the fluffiest biscuit that I am not exaggerating about. That biscuit lives rent-free in my mind now. I also grabbed a cheese danish--flaky, buttery, and not overly sweet. It actually made me rethink what a cheese danish could be. Like it was gently telling my taste buds, "We don't do basic anymore." As for my drink, I wanted something chai-based with vanilla, and the barista (who gave me ASAP Rocky with locs energy) made something that was out of this world. Cool, kind, and respectful--when I mentioned heading upstairs to explore, he simply replied "Yes ma'am" in the most polite tone. Somebody raised that young man right. The whole atmosphere reminded me of what I loved about certain coffee shops in Atlanta. It's got that soul, that warmth, and a team that makes you feel seen. This is definitely my new spot. Savannah Coffee Roasters, you've got a fan for life. I'll absolutely be back.
Wonderful place for breakfast and good cup of coffee. Zero line and 2 cashiers help to keep orders moving. There are 2 floors of open space with large tables to sit and eat. Few chairs and tables outside if weather cooperates. We ordered the Liberty Street Sandwich and Avocado Toast. They were able to switch the feta cheese for goat cheese due to allergies. Everything was fresh and hit the spot.
This coffee shop was a great find close to our hotel. The location has been roasting coffee here since 1909! In the early 2000's, they opened up this storefront. The coffee here was delicious! My wife ordered matcha and loved it as well. Plenty of comfortable seats indoors and out. Our barista was also super friendly and informative. Loved this place!
I visited this coffee shop every single day while staying in Historic Downtown. It was the baked goods that I kept going back for. If you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend the Dulce de leche mousse cake. The fluffer nutter scone was another favorite- it had crispy edges but had a moist and gooey center. The egglethorp breakfast sandwich was so yummy! For drinks, the Paris Fog tea was something I've never had anywhere else so I had to try and would recommend. There's ample seating with additional seating on the second level which I did not explore.
Cozy coffee shop near DT Savannah. Got a yummy iced London Fog and the spanakopita. My friend order the lemon bar, pavlova, and the 7 layer bar. The pavlova was perfect!! The lemon bar was a bit too gooey for me but the flavor is good If I needed a place to do work with yummy food and drinks, I'd definitely come here! They have plenty of seating and down and upstairs too. Not super loud on a Monday morning either
Having visited a handful of times, my short and sweet ratings are: *4 Coffee *4 Ambiance *3.5 Food *3.0 Service SCF is an easy walk from most places to its shop on Liberty. Upon entry, an ample and comfy seating area awaits. Walk through and more traditional seating is available as well as merchandise, baked goods, and the order counter. My favorite coffee is SCF's award winning Captains Choice. Normal coffee options are available and a decent menu choices. My wife enjoys the avocado toast. About service. It's been okay. On our recent visit, my Tex-Mex salad arrived at my table without the black beans, cherry tomatoes, and fire roasted corn, and silverware. The lack of a satisfactory initial response by both the server and the manager on duty brought down my rating. While it might have been a one-off, the service in the past was okay. My recommendation: Relax in the front area or outside and enjoy the coffee.
It was so good that my boyfriend and I came twice in a single weekend! The coffee beans are prepared in-house so all of the coffees taste absolutely delicious. We shared the BLT and caprese BLT and were left awe-struck by the freshness of the ingredients and the flavors. 10/10 would recommend checking this place out!
Cute little coffee shop in downtown Savannah. Had plenty of seating: some small sitting areas with couches and other areas with tables. They also had an upstairs area and seating outside. For drinks, we had an iced caramel macchiato and an iced honey oat cinnamon latte. Very tasty and came out quickly. Food took a little longer (10ish minutes) but we ordered the breakfast burrito and Egglethorpe sandwich to go as we were heading out of town. Food was a 7/10. The egglethorpe had a red onion jam on it that was sweeter than I prefer but still had good flavor. I also ordered it on an English muffin instead of biscuit. They had an awesome pastry and bakery case with danishes, croissants, desserts, etc. but we went savory vs sweet this morning. Next time we are in town, I would probably go back and grab a coffee to take on a stroll downtown.
This place is fantastic! Not only is the decor beautiful and cozy, its trendy, airy and open. I love all their selection of drinks and food. I had their quiche and seasonal apple cider. It was divine. I cannot wait to come back, I wish we had one here in Charleston! I enjoy that they have numbers and will bring your food to your table. We visited this cafe back in November. We noticed every morning there was a crowd so we needed to give it a try. We ordered our breakfast items online and they prepare the food upon arrival. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was very delicious and fresh ingredients. My boyfriend liked this breakfast croissant. Staff was friendly and place inside was clean. Didn't plan, but passing by, decided to stop for coffee break. The premise was busy. It appears to be a popular place. Ambiance is cozy. I had to clean the table that we can accommodate us. Service was quick. The latte wasn't a top notch. The milk was burnt. Pavlova looked very nice, but was more sweet then we expected. read more

Cute coffee house in downtown Savannah. Good for people who live or work in the area because it's one of those neighborhood coffee spots that everyone meets up at. When I arrived, there were so many groups all over the place. Some working, some hanging with friends, some reading, everyone was in their own little bubble. The menu has many options for coffee, tea, sandwiches, pastries, breakfast items, soups, and the list goes on and on. The staff were friendly and very energetic. In fact, I must have observed at least 10 people working behind the counter. Definitely a busy place. Anyway, I ordered an unsweetened iced tea and a breakfast croissant sandwich with eggs, cheese, and Turkey sausage. The sandwich had almost no flavor -- almost as if everything was microwaved unseasoned. It probably would've tasted better if there was salt, pepper, or any other seasoning added to it. I don't like to waste food so I finished it anyway. Not a bad choice but I'm sure there are better options in the area if you're looking for food. As far as coffee and tea, this place seems like the go-to in the vicinity. read more

From outside you'd never guess how open the inside is. Open the doors and your pleasantly surprised with the fun ambiance of this coffee shop. There is a good amount of seating inside and outside. The pastries here are numerous and delicious. Can't go wrong here if your looking for a treat. Lots of pastries and other goods. The coffee was great, it did its job of giving me enough energy to walk back to my hotel. The best thing about this place though was the positive and friendly interaction with the staff. I went out a lot in Savannah, are at many places. This place by far was the friendliest. Keep it up!!! read more

We were exploring the different squares in Savannah and came across this gem. Beautiful stonework inside with the use of dark woods and silver metals; this is one nice place. Staff was kind and explained the different types of drip coffee presently offered; we went with the medium roast Captains Blend. It had a nice unique mild flavor. They sell quite a number of other items, so it would a nice place to have lunch at. They have about a dozen tables to site at inside, as well as a second floor that was currently closed on our visit. We were looking for a cozy place for breakfast and we found the cool little place. It doesn't look like much from the outside but when you come inside, it is such a cozy, comfortable place. Plenty of tables and chairs. We order the Oglethorpe and sausage pastry. VERY, VERY tasty. Great vibe and very friendly people. The coffee was perfect. (VERY HOT) Can't wait to come back! read more

Quiche is extremely over priced. Make sure to ask for any bakery goods from the BOTTOM. They items from the previous day; brownies, lemon bars, muffins, cinnamon rolls, are absolutely disgusting. They are dried out and they have absorbed the flavor and smell of everything around them. Uughhh, gross. The cooked breakfast plates are great, prices are not so great. They are processed higher than most comparable establishments. read more

Stopped by for breakfast before leaving Savannah. So glad they open early at 7. Inside was spacious and rustic. The selection of breakfast items were plentiful from pastries to sandwiches. I got a Liberty St. Breakfast Sandwich and an iced white chocolate mocha latte. Although the sandwich was good, I love their coffee. I wish I found this place early in my trip! read more
Quiche Lorraine served warm w a salad w a cold vanilla latte+espresso shot. Chocolate croissant, hot coffee and breakfast sandwich +tip was around $30. Great staff in a nice cool atmosphere! Tons of pastry offerings along w hot breakfast options. Perfect way to start the day! read more
Wish I had checked in before placing my order - the iced tea would have been FREE! What a great coffee shop. Stopped in after a day of touring the city. Easy to access by foot and not far from my hotel. Service was warm and friendly - southern hospitality! Bought a tee and was given a random chai tea which must have been made my mistake. Ordered the most delicious fudge brownie! This cafe is huge - plenty of places to sit. Bring your laptop and blend in with the art students. They serve sandwiches, soups, beer, desserts and more. Wish I knew of a coffee shop this large back home. read more

Everything about SCR is 5-star: from the pastries in the case, to the smiling staff, to the yummy and fresh breakfast sandwiches (Egglethorpe and Liberty St), to the smooth and robust coffee...you're sitting in a comfy spot starting your day right. The atmosphere in this coffee shop is 5-star spectacular! It is a mix between modern industrial and home comfy. There are comfortable lounge chairs as well as small cafe tables to choose from. They roast their coffee here and their roasters are proudly on display in the center of the main room. They offer delicious pastries and some sandwiches. FAVORITES - Bacon cheese scone was sooooo good - Comfy lounge seating is my favorite place to hang out - Captains roast is their house bean. It was a rich cup that is bright with nutty notes. The main reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 is the lack of brewed coffee selection. They only had two brewed coffees to offer on our visit: Captains Roast (medium roast) and Kenya dark roast. The coffee is high quality but a coffee roaster should be able to offer a large selection of coffees. They should also offer brew methods such as pour over / chemex / press pot. I am a huge coffee buff so my expectations are high for a local roaster. If you are looking for coffee then you will surely love a visit here. It's my favorite coffee shop in Savannah to hang out in, due to the great atmosphere and delicious coffee. read more

In the morning while wandering the streets of Savannah I decided to take a quick coffee stop at Savannah Coffee Roasters. It is a beautiful cafe with nice decor. After browsing through the menu I decided to order Butter Croissant and Mocha Coffee. I got my order in 5 minutes. The croissant was perfectly roasted and was hot and fresh. Loved the croissant. Along with the croissant the mocha coffee was also freshly brewed and loved my morning coffee along with a quick breakfast stop. read more

So, my wife and I spent our 20yr anniversary in Savannah and fell in love with the Savannah Coffee Roasters. 6 years later I wondered if it'd live up to the nostalgia and memory after seeing and loving so many other coffee shops in that span of time. Well, today I went and had my Cafe Con Leche there while here for business... WOW. Still, 6 years later, my fav spot and fav drink! I made a pit stop here for some good coffee and to escape the heat. I honestly was not impressed with their iced coffee (although it was called a cold brew which is slightly different maybe it's a southern thing bc I noticed this a few times on my trip when I ordered a iced coffee). The ambiance was nice however the only reason I give it 3 starts is due to the service of the man taking my order. It was unnecessarily rude and was not willing to answer questions about their food menu. I am vegetarian so I had some questions about their vegetarian options and how they are prepared. He seemed annoyed to answer my question and ultimately did help answer my question. Another barista stepped in to help answer any questions about the food and she was extremely friendly, I unfortunately did not get her name. read more

I really enjoyed this coffee shop and I do not like coffee. As soon as you walk in it is beautiful. The vibes are really nice and it's really inviting. I was pleased to find out is was veteran owned and they had a military discount. I like supporting veteran businesses. I got a free sweet tea for checking in on here and their sweet tea is really good. I got a slice of the pavlova. It looked too delicious not to try, and OMG it was sooooo good. My friends each got the liberty sandwich and it looked really good. They both said it was super delicious and they will be coming back for it again. Another thing to note is the cups they use. For some reason I have a thing for cups, and I absolutely loved the cups that the sweet tea came in. I took mine home to reuse it. Vivian, Nathan, and Chris were absolutely amazing. They were so nice and took the time to explain anything we had questions about. Customer service goes a long way and they are part of the reason I am definitely coming back here. read more

My absolute favorite place to buy coffee beans. They have an amazing array of pastries and serve breakfast as well. There is ample indoor seating and when the weather is nice there's large outdoor tables which is great for groups. read more
The ambiance of this place is what is giving it the four stars. You truly felt like you were in this perfect coffee shop out of a movie. We both had the Oglethorpe breakfast sandwich it was pretty good. Mine however had the potato's with it... do yourself a favor skip them. The scone was not good either, extremely dry and possibly a day old. Our coffees were great so definitely try the coffee. read more
