Of the 3 times I've been here, she has been late twice. I would even come a day or two days after the day that Savannah told me they would be ready. This is irritating and disrespectful of my time because it takes time out of my day to go to the shop, and as I am paying for these alterations I expect them to be finished by the date that I am quoted. This includes very difficult items such as a ripped cotton raincoat which I thought was ruined, but Savannah's repair made the damage invisible! I stopped by to try and get tuxedo measurements for an upcoming wedding. My first time dropping by, the tailor told me she did not know what measurements I would need for a tuxedo. I contacted the tuxedo shop and got the measurements required, came back, and attempted to get measured again. The tailor told me she did not know how to measure an out seam overarm or even neck and then interrogated me as to why I even needed her to conduct the measurements. After showing signs she was frustrated with me, she told me she could not do it. Either she doesn't know how to conduct very basic tailoring measurements or the tailor did not feel like spending the time to serve me. Overall, very rude service, did not get the service I sought, and overall frustrating experience for me. read more

I adore Savannah and her shop. I'm very short and have an odd hip/waist ratio so she sees me often for tailoring my shorts, pants, and dresses. Her work is high quality and great value. Depending on the type of hem, I think my pants are usually somewhere between $15-$25. I'm not sure why people keep talking about "rudeness" -- she is direct with communication but I've never felt disrespected by her. Just different styles of communication I guess. We had my wife's new dress and my old suit altered and she did a great job. My wife, who does sew, said that the stitching was so good it looked like original work rather than an alteration. They are a little on the pricy side but completely nailed the work. I wish I could give this establishment zero stars. I went here with my husband to get some fabric cut for work, and as soon as we walked in, we were told to come back in one hour with no explanation given. We waited and noticed SEVERAL customers going in, getting helped, then leaving. They were clearly not told to come back in an hour. After the fifth person being helped, we came back (before an hour even past) and we were then told we'd be next. As soon as the lady went to us, she didn't like the way my husband was explaining how he wanted the fabric to be cut because he wasn't "confident" in his explanation. She first said she can do it in three weeks then takes it back as soon as my husband uses a word she didn't understand (the word was slit.) What's crazy is that she had helped out a former coworker of ours do the SAME cut yet didn't give him any trouble. She said to come back when we can explain what we want better to her (even though there were even written instructions with measurements she can just follow.) Overall, this place was extremely rude and not what everyone had summed up the place to be on yelp. Extremely disappointed on the lack of service and upset that the worker basically yelled at us and complained that we can't explain things confidently and clearly when she herself wouldn't even try and listen. She was too caught up with the fact that there was another customer after us who wanted a simple hem and she'd rather serve them and just turn us away twice. read more

I don't think I've ever left a bad review yet but this is going to be the first one. I didn't experience "rudeness" as mentioned by other bad reviews but the lack of professionalism is true. I took my dress in for hemming and arranged a pick-up time, emphasizing i needed it the day of the pick up. I got there during pick up time and she seem to have forgot about my dress and said to give her more time. I ended up stressing out because my flight was leaving in a few hours and also needed to go home and grab cash because she only took cash or check. I was directed towards the supermarket to get cashback from my credit card, which is clearly not possible. I feel really bad for leaving a bad review but I just hope the owner improves her approach to running her business and does the orders based on when they are scheduled to be picked up. read more

I used to go to a different tailor, but when I saw all the rave reviews here I wanted to give Savannah a try to see if I was missing out. Feeling guilty, I started with just a couple pair of pants and was really impressed with how precise and responsive she was, the result was fantastic. I have not looked back and keep coming back. I enjoy that I can sometimes just put something on and ask her what she thinks and she has a great eye for what will make the outfit sing. I dropped off a ceremonial robe that needed some patches sewn on, and paid cash upfront. I was told that it could be ready in 3 days, but I said no rush, I'll come back in a week. A week later I come back, lady says: "I'm behind", and to come back in 2 days. 2 days later on Friday I go back, and she says: "sorry, I forgot, come back on Monday." I go back Tuesday because she'd been late twice already, only to go there and find the patched to be sewn on backwards (the back was facing out). I point this out to her and she says: "I'm not crazy, I wouldn't get that wrong" I ask her to double check and she grudgingly says: "if I'm right I'm charging you again to sew it back on" She pulls some of the threads off and discovers her error, and then says to come back the next day to pick it up. I go back for the 4th time and she says: "sorry I'm going to do it now" and then makes me wait while she gets the work done. What should have been a 2 day job took 4 visits, 2 weeks, being gaslighted, and me wanting to never go back here again. Just sharing my experience. read more

I went to get a skirt let out (which I bought when I was 16 and I'm now 24 so it's a very different size). She was pretty rude and kept commenting on how big the difference was. She also barely looked at me while she was talking to me and just started working on another piece while I was still there trying to discuss pricing. Savannah knows how it's done. I helped start a successful clothing business (Ministry of Supply), and that experience taught me just how important fit is. Savannah knows how to do this. Not only can she knock out standard tailoring of shirts and the like easily, but she also does more complicated stuff. We took a hood off a jacket. Then we progressed to the super ultra bonus round. Which was - not one, but two suits, each on short notice (two separate events). In short, I looked a LOT like James Bond once Savannah was done. She took that blazer in and nailed the hemming of the pants. On the first try. In far fewer days than she usually would take. She rushed it for me at no extra charge (I offered - she wouldn't take it). I got a number of very positive comments and compliments on the suit specifically at the musical that night. So fantastic. I knew I had to buy another suit and take it back to Savannah - this time charcoal, instead of black. But! I learned that the wedding I was headed to would need it, too. Yikes! Only a few days... AGAIN. Another tailor might have told me to take a hike. But not Savannah! She totally came in at the clutch. So amazing. I could write pages and pages about how helpful she's been, but suffice it to say, that you need look no further. Savannah is a rock star, and she's worth every cent and more. Friendly, committed to making you look awesome, and very, very good at what she does. Last note - I took in a pricier shirt recently. I'd gotten it several years ago in Austin, but the sleeves are just too short. I know Savannah can leap tall buildings in a single bound, so I brought it in. I was flexible, ok with failure - I mean, what I already had wasn't great. I'd been rolling up the sleeves. Savannah took me through the options and ultimately recommended that we NOT do it. She does flawless work - from minor alterations to a complete dress from scratch based on images alone - and has done it quickly and affordably. Savannah tailored my off-the-rack morning suit I ordered from England for my wedding. The pants needed to be hemmed and slimmed. The waistcoat needed to be taken in, and for the jacket, the sleeves were too wide and long, and the shoulders needed to be narrowed, an alteration which most tailors dare not attempt.
