I saw great reviews for Central Texas Tree Care (512-973-9090) on Yelp and on NextDoor and thought I'd check them out. The owner (I think his name is Joel) got back to me promptly. It was really convenient that he could look at the tree, without me being there. After assessing the tree, he gave me a call, and was clear in the cost to remove the tree and how they would do it. He even pointed out that I had a small dead tree (which I hadn't seen before), that he could take down for no extra charge. Because their rates were competitive, they had great reviews, were very quick to respond, and they could get the job done sooner than later, I booked with them. I went by the property to check on the area before I sent them a payment, and was impressed with the work they did. They cleaned up and didn't leave any grooves or marks in the lawn from where they had worked. As it turns out, they had done work for me before! It was years ago and I couldn't remember the company's name, but they had me in their system, so I'm thrilled that I found them again. So yes, I'd use them again and can recommend them as an honest, reliable, efficient tree care company . read more

The trees were numbered on the photo and included was a description of the specifics for each tree. In addition, he came out before the work started to discuss the specifics with the crew and again when it was in process to review the work. We had Central Texas Tree Care out to look at a large oak tree in our front yard. They were easy to schedule with and extremely helpful. When they diagnosed oak wilt and realized they were booked farther out than they recommend waiting to treat the tree, they referred us to another group to help us out. Great tree service. Took down two cedars in my front yard and ground stumps in about 90 minutes. Then thinned dead branches in live oaks in my backyard over pool. Removed and shredded all debris. I called Central Texas Tree Care for a bid in July 2011, Andy came to my house a couple of days later and gave me a very reasonable quote to trim 2 large trees in the front yard and 2 smaller trees in the backyard. I scheduled for the following week. The workers showed up right on time and did a really great job. I wanted the trees in the front to be trimmed in a very specific way to allow sun to get to the plants underneath them and also to keep them from growing into my neighbor's roof. The trees in the back required different specifications, Andy wrote it all down in detail. The guys took care of all my requests, I was impressed. The bill was exactly what Andy quoted me, no surprises! The following week I called Andy back to schedule putting down bagged much in my front yard. He sent a guy over the next day to take some measurements, I called Andy and he gave me a very reasonable quote. The following Monday 2 guys showed up right on time and put down 20 bags of mulch. They swept all my walkways, my driveway and even the street in front of my yard. The bill was exactly what Andy had quoted me again. These guys are awesome! You have to be careful who you call in this business, or else you'll get some random guy with a chain saw and a pickup truck showing up on your doorstep. Central Texas Tree Care sent out a licensed Arborist for a quote and recommendation on how to best trim our live oak to maintain maximum shade while cleaning it up and removing branches from our neighbors lawn. The tree technicians showed up on time, were all business, and did an excellent job of making our tree look good. Afterwards the cleanup was oustanding. They come in and do everything within a few hours - this makes me so happy, because my neighbors who have used other tree services take weeks with a lot of chainsaw noise, making me insane. But CENTRAL TEXAS TREE CARE hardly use chainsaws at all, they know what they are doing, and this is our second time using them. I even recognized the same crew (and they remembered us!). I noticed my neighbor was using them on their house and made a mental note to check with them about their service - of course the very next week I had a whole zone go out on my sprikler system. My neighbor reccommended them highly so I called and Comacho answered from his truck. He said I will try and get there this afternoon. He called and said I can't but will be there first thing in the AM. 8 AM hs is out in fornt of my house! His crew was extremely profession - they fixed the problem and then Comacho took me ourtside and showed me where each solenoid was hidden so I could maop it for future use. These guys deserve every star and then some. My wife met with Joel to get a quote. I was surprised how fair the price was. We immediately jumped on their schedule. They were able to fit us in about 3 weeks after the quote which I thought was fair. I was most impressed the day of the work. I stopped by the house while the guys were working. They had 5 guys on the job. As I walked around my house I ran into each worker. Every one stopped working long enough to kindly introduced themselves and made sure I understood what they were doing and ask if I wanted anything different. I was blown away by the attitudes and work ethic of these guys. I'm not sure how often I'll get my trees trimmed but I won't ever call anyone else and will highly recommend them to my neighbors and friends. Called Central Texas Tree Service because I was looking for an arborist and a tree trimming company with great reviews and repeat customers. I had previously called a local company with good reviews, who ended up being a no-show. I needed a diagnosis on a leaf problem with my burr oak and my live oak and also needed an estimate for pruning. Andy is a certified arborist and he pinpointed insect problems with both of my trees. He gave me a treatment plan, along with assuring me my trees would be fine. He also gave me a fair estimate for pruning 3 young trees that had never been pruned. The trimming crew arrived on schedule, took care of the necessary pruning, and cleaned/raked the area around the trees leaving my yard looking fantastic. I intend to use Central Texas Tree Service in the future and would highly recommend their services. read more

I had Central Texas Tree Care come out to my house and do some tree trimming back in late May of this year. Had some branches that were touching my roof and wanted my trees in my front yard trimmed as well because of over growth. Understanding that we had a high level of rain in May and June, I have tree branches back on my roof and my trees in the front are back to where they were before they were trimmed. I called their office and was informed I would have someone come back out to my house to take a look. When the consultant (Joel) arrived at my house today, 10/2/2015, I showed him the tree in my backyard that is back touching my roof. I said to him that your team just trimmed my trees back in May, he stated that he remembered coming out. I stated to him that in this short period of time that the tree is back to touching my roof and my trees in the front are back to where they were at before. He stated that we had a year's worth a rain in that little time frame, I said I understand but in a short period of time for it to be back where it is hard to accept. Especially after spending over $400 to have this work done. If this was a year and half or 2 years I would accept that but not in that short time frame especially with these last couple of months being dry. I stated my neighbor pruned his trees the same time I did in the front yard and his trees are just fine (even pointed to my neighbors trees), I went on to say I just want to get what I paid for, Joel paused then stated that pruning a tree and with that rain is a perfect storm for it to grow back. I said in a short period of time just hard to grasp that especially paying the amount of money that I did. He didn't say nothing then I said I just want it taken care of and I feel that I should have to pay for it over again. He replied back with I can have my crew cut the backyard tree branch touching my roof 3 to 4 feet back but that's all he can do. I stated to him that is fine, he said that they are backed up right now and can take 3 weeks to come back out. I was fine with that, I responded back that I just wanted it taken care of. When walking back to the front to show him the other trees he stated to me "I will see when my team is in the area to come back out, not going to make a special trip back out here since our offices are up north." I was blown away with his response, I was in complete shock. When he got to the front he said have a nice day, at this point I didn't even want to talk about my trees at the front since it was obvious he didn't want to take care of a customer. Just really disappointed with this company, they received such high reviews. I will definitely not be doing business with this company again!!!!!!!! read more

We got a notice from the city that we needed to prune our trees so they were 14 ft over the street. I called many of the arborists on Yelp, but Andy was the only one that got back to me in a timely manner. They set up a consultation and even though they called to give me a heads up that Andy was running late, he still showed up on time! I appreciate that they were proactive and didn't leave me twiddling my thumbs. The consultation was quick and he got me a quote within 15 minutes. It was reasonable so we scheduled a time for the work to be done. On the scheduled day they showed up when they said they would. The guys that did the work were knowledgeable and understanding of some of my concerns. They cleaned up and the trees look so much better! I would definitely use them again in the future! read more

He recommended that we keep the tree and just add mulch around the bottom for better circulate and drainage. I have been a neighbor of Andrew Johnson for about 14 years. His tree company is used a lot in our neighborhood and all over Austin. We highly recommend Central Texas for any trees you need trimming or if they are sick. He drilled holes into a tree in our front yard and screwed medicine for one live oak that was sick, and 15 years later the tree is doing great. We got another quote for our corner lot with 12 live oak trees and it was almost $2000. Not with Central Texas, it was way less and the other company came out a few years ago, but didn't do half of what Central Texas did. We hope you at least get a quote from Andy. I have used this group two time. once to take down about 3 trees and another time to do a bunch for branch trimming. They are a great group. I got quick turn around on someone coming out to give me a quote. It was also a great quote that was reasonable. But what makes them great is the team is professional, pretty fast and do a great job of cleaning up, no saw dust, no leaves just a great job. They know trees and know what they are doing. I'm very pleased with the work they did. I was in the tree care business myself for 7 years and I know quality work. I have Live Oaks in the front yard in desperate need of care. (and yes now that I'm in my 50's I'm too old and lazy to do the work myself) I asked that the interior not be stripped out so the trees had a more balanced look. They did exactly what I asked. The branch cuts were made exactly to aborist standards. These guys are not "hackers". (treeman's term for unskilled workers). The estimate was half of what others had proposed. Working with CTTC was about easy as it gets. Scheduled an appointment to get an estimate at 9:30am and Joel showed up exactly on time. (Can't remember the last time someone was that punctual). He's super knowledgeable and patient, as I explained what I wanted done. He excused himself to work up the estimate and returned less than 10-minutes later with printed and professional estimate. (Again, not sure I've ever had someone show up for an estimate and had an actual printer in their vehicle.) I ended up getting two other estimates and both were slightly cheaper, but I still choose CTTC, based on Joel's professionalism. Fast forward a few days and their crew showed up and trimmed (and cleaned up) exactly to my desire. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd call them again without hesitation. read more

I had some live oaks damaged in a recent storm. I should note that these are very large oaks and one stands in the very middle of my yard and I was very concerned about the extent of the damage and the repair needed to be very well done not just for aesthetic reasons but also for the health of the tree. I received multiple quotes for my trees. With CTTC my call was returned promptly and I was very impressed with Joel (the arborist) when he came out to inspect my trees. His quote was very reasonable - but not the cheapest I received. I hired them anyway based solely on the professionalism of Joel and the very nice lady I spoke with in their office. Joel, particularly, came across as much, much more knowledgeable than the other companies I spoke to. Today two very nice men arrived exactly when they said they would and my trees look wonderful. Not only did they fix the damage but they shaped the trees so you can't tell that giant limbs are missing. They look great now and next spring when they fill in they will look even better. At my request they even cut up some of the bigger limbs for firewood which is neatly stacked in my back yard. Other than my newly trimmed trees you would never know that they were here as they cleaned up very well afterwards. I have more oaks in my yard that could use some trimming. I'll be calling Joel again later in the year to have them tidy up the rest. read more

Andy the arborist came out to evaluate the trees around a Windsor Park house we're in the process of buying. After a thoughtful evaluation of each tree, its optimal care, and present drought-influenced conditions, he advised a "wait and watch" path before attempting any work. He did not charge us anything for his expertise, and, when we asked if he'd remember our house in the spring, he replied: " I remember the trees." Bark was falling off a main limb of one of our spanish oaks, so we callled Central Texas Tree Care. Jouel came out to diagnose the problem and took a look at some of the other trees that I had concerns with. He came up with a very reasonable quote to cut down that limb (because of a fungal infection) as well as prune another tree that I thought really needed it. My wife said that the crew that they sent to do the trimming "were real nice folks". They arrived on time, did a great job and cleaned up very well after themselves.
