After receiving 3 bids to trim our trees and treat our diseased sweetgum trees, I decided to go with Central Texas Tree Care even though their prices were higher for the trimming. Joel, an arborist, spent alot of time looking at each tree when he came by for a bid and was honest about our diseased trees. We have 2 very large live oaks in our back yard that probably never had been trimmed before and I wanted someone that would do a good job not only aesthetically but for the long term health of the trees. Joel pointed out some things he would recommend in trimming to keep them from eventually splitting at the base. One person I received a bid from tried to convince me to completely remove one of my trees even though only a small portion was diseased. Joel was honest in that the tree is in decline, but after a solid pruning you'd never know. I ended up hiring a "crew" for the day which better met by budget, and I was super pleased with the results. They worked solidly all day and did a fantastic job. Exceptional. It has been 3 years since we pruned our 22 live oaks and a few elms. Initially I went with our prior tree service, but due to some conflict I decided to go to Yelp and find other reputable tree trimmers. And I could not be more pleased with Central Texas Tree Care. Central Texas Tree Care came out to review my tree trimming needs and provided excellent expert advice and guidance. I had around 15 live oaks that needed pruning to clear out the suckers and aid my hill country view. The crew was scheduled for a day a week later and did a fantastic job. They did clean prunes, spray painted all the cuts, and meticulously cleaned up at the end. For all the material that they removed, I was shocked that not a single piece of debris was left in my yard, and they hauled it all away. The result looks great. Great tree service! Searched around and got a couple of estimates to remove a large Hackberry tree from my backyard. These guys were $200 less than my first estimate. I used them the past two years and was very happy so I called them again this year. Two days after I phone, Andy came out and listened very carefully to some special instructions I gave for about 6 of the large oak trees and various smaller trees that need extensive pruning. The job was scheduled for two days after that. Andy came back with the guys and had notes on everything I'd asked for (some details about opening up so night lighting would look better or leaving low branches to create an arbor affect.) The did the whole job in one day and left the yard so neat and tidy that people couldn't even see they'd been there. The trees were in beds of cactus and they didn't break any of the cactus, nor did they get themselves into thorns!. They are pros. I love central texas tree and am sending them to my son's house. Joel was professional and knew what he was saying in providing the quote. While others told me what I wanted to do in cabling two trees together was not going to have the effect I wanted. This was a messy job involving a tangle of old trees which had grown into wire fencing and built up into a horrible thicket. Joel and his team were very thorough and swift in tackling the job, and I found Joel very easy to deal with. He gets back to you if he says he will, and he made a particular point of clarifying what I was asking to have done, even though he had to make a second trip in order to do that. Andy J and Xavier did a fantastic job on our trees. I had recently moved into my new home. I had two very large trees in the front lawn that I love but sorely needed trimming. They knew exactly what they were doing and did a wonderful job of trimming them and thinning them out to let light through but not to harm my trees. I also had 4 huge trees in the backyard, one that had recently partially fallen and just barely missed my home, so I asked for an assessment of what we could keep and what needed to go. Andy assured me we could keep the largest tree I had as long as we lightened it up removing some of its larger limbs and keep an eye on it annually. What a relief! I loved the backyard trees so being able to keep at one and still keep my home safe was wonderful. Other estimators had told me it had to go and gave me no hope- of course it was another $2k to remove that additional one too. Andy's team said we could keep it and watch it, even though they wouldn't get the $ for taking it down. Their wanting to do the right thing was a huge reason for giving them the job over the others. The team was polite and respectful and handled things as quietly as possible. They removed 3 of the trees, and cleaned up when they left. There was a bit of a mishap when one very large limb broke from its tow line and fell to the ground and burst a pipe in my lawn sprinklers but they sprung into action, came and told me, turned off the water, called a sprinkler person who fixed it the same day, and even replaced the area that had to be dug up for the repair, with an entire area of new sod. I did not have to ask for any of this. They just did the right thing. Andy knows his trees and the company does an excellent job. They are my tree trimmers for life! Fantastic job on my beautiful but quite shaggy red oak, and several younger trees that were due up for their first haircuts. The crew obviously loves their job-- they were literally whistling while they worked. Very competitive pricing and far superior service and skill. Two years ago another company worked on this tree and when they were done it looked exactly the same to me. I hired Central TX tree care to prune my trees. They damaged some property by accident but the worst part of my experience was what came after. Regardless of many calls, I was never contacted until they wanted payment. Even after saying they would deduct the replacement amount from my balance, they didn't. They charged my card the full amount. I never received a call, an apology, nothing. I had to file a BBB complaint in order for them to refund my money for the damaged property. Central Texas Tree Care has been spraying my Oak Trees for about 5 years for the annoying Oak Leaf Caterpillars that come out in Spring (the ones that leave messy droppings all over and silky strings hanging from trees).
