Five Stars Is Not Enough for Ryan at the Walmart in Halethorpe! We want to give a HUGE heartfelt thank you to Ryan, the Store Manager at the Walmart Supercenter - Halethorpe. What he did for our community and our children this Christmas season is nothing short of extraordinary. We were on a mission to purchase 50 bicycles to give away to children impacted by gun violence and trauma--children who otherwise may not have woken up to a Christmas gift this year. Ryan didn't just process our order... he went above and beyond anything we could have ever expected. Not only did he personally deliver all 25 bikes from his Halethorpe store using his own truck, but he also went out of his way to pick up and deliver the additional 25 bikes from the Walmart Catonsville--again with his personal truck! He took two full days out of his own schedule to make sure these bikes reached our children in time for Christmas. Because of Ryan's kindness, dedication, and selfless heart, 50 children will wake up with a bike on Christmas morning--many of whom are healing from loss, grief, and trauma. That joy is because of him. Ryan truly represents the best of Walmart--compassion, leadership, and real community service. We are beyond grateful and will never forget what he did for our families. Thank you, Ryan, for being the light of Christmas when it mattered most. You absolutely made a lasting impact.

I stopped in just to get a sweet treat. The store was crowded. I did interact with one employee because I needed to locate an item. He was very kind and pointed me in the right direction. It was a pet item which I was picking up for someone else so I didn't get a photo of their receipt and item. However, I did get a photo of my two small items. My next interaction was with a cashier. She was friendly, understanding that I had two separate orders. She made the transactions painless. Let me tell you when I finally ate some of my sweet treats tonight, they were so fresh and delicious. I didn't expect that from the cake pop or muffins. Don't sleep on Walmart. Lol

This has got to be the worst Wal-Mart I've ever seen. Even laurel isn't this bad yet. But it's getting there. There is loose carts all over the parking lot. Also bums shaking you down for change before even entering the store. Upon getting inside the store. There is not one not two but three workers at the door. Which is a very bad sign which would indicate they have a very high theft problem here. This location used to be 24hours but the manager said they reduced their hours because TV's were walking out during the night hours. WoW.... The employees are nowhere and I mean nowhere near classy. They don't say hi or anything. Tried asking a few for help and more then half of them had headphones in and would not take them off to answer you like your a ghost or something.... How is this even allowed in a place of business???? The entire store is nowhere near fully stocked. If barely stocked at all. There was tons of stuff either in the wrong spot or just sitting on the floor while employees walked right by it. The prices here seem higher then other Wal-Mart's. Which doesn't make any sense because the general area around the place is nowhere near rich. The lines are usually long here. It is a high volume store but they refuse to open more lines to satisfy customers which is very sad. Usually someone is yelling to the employees and using profanity to open another line. Can't really say this Wal-Mart is a family place due to the rude amount of language used by customers here. Now for the worst part. The customer base. The general customer base here is nowhere near high class. There were customers around the store blasting Bluetooth speakers with music and some customers yelling at their kids right in the front of the store. I seen two women empty half of their cart of stuff they didn't want which were food items in the clothing section. ???? ,Also another couple yelling physical threats at an employee because she wouldn't go in the back to check for eggs. Also all the handicapped carts had plastic bags on them which means they're out of service. I think they just mark them out of service to prevent the kids from riding them though. Overall. This location and laurel has got to be the two lowest class and worst locations on the planet.

How good is the neighborhood around WalMart in Arbutus at night?

It's not Downtown Baltimore, but it's not great either.

It's a small market in a community that…read moreaffords people the advantage of not having to make a longer trip to pick up a last minute item. With that you have to remember that this place has some items, but not all items. It was nice to be able to stop here and browse. My friend and I came in here to look for some snack items, I tell ya, it's all about the snacks. One odd thing about this place is that it doesn't feel like a market even though it is one. The shelves are not very high and you can see all across the store. Made you feel vulnerable and that you might be judged for the selection you made. If I remember correctly there is a prepared food area or maybe a deli counter. I didn't pay attention to this much as I wasn't there for that. Customer service here was pretty decent. They greeted and made chit chat with every customer that came in the market. Even though this is convenient for the area and an asset, they could do maybe a little something to make it feel less unwelcoming inside. It has a sterile feel to it, which is a good thing for a market with fresh produce, but there is really no character to the place. Unless that is the character you are going for, then you hit it spot on.

The shopping experience is irritating. The doors closest to the lot where I park have been closed to the public. Random bag checks at self-checkout are sometimes performed (as today) by associates who don't even know how to use a scanner. The aisle leading to self-checkout has been partially blocked by cardboard dumps in a clumsy attempt at traffic control. I get it--our festering society has normalized theft to the point that a store is vulnerable. But maybe consider customer loss-control? You're driving away the 90 per cent of us who are honest in an attempt to stop the ten per cent who aren't. And we do have other options.

My experience at Trader Joe's Columbia, MD on 2/21/2026 --…read moreright before the snowstorm -- was extremely disappointing and embarrassing. I attempted to return a few items, and the store manager processed the return in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational and humiliating, especially in a very crowded store. I was questioned in a manner that singled me out, even though Trader Joe's is known for accepting returns if customers are not satisfied with a product. What made this more upsetting is that I have personally witnessed other customers return items without being questioned at all. I won't mention who. It appears that management selectively decides who to scrutinize, which feels unfair and inconsistent. I contacted corporate to address the situation, and while the store lead did follow up, there was no real accountability -- only explanations and excuses for the manager's behavior. No acknowledgment of how inappropriate the public interaction was. Additionally, some items sold in the store are marketed in a way that seems healthy but contain ingredients that are far from it, which adds to my growing concern as a customer. I expect professionalism, consistency, and respect -- especially from management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. My experience at Trader Joe's on 2/21/2026, just before the snowstorm, was deeply disappointing and humiliating. I attempted to return a few items and was questioned by the store manager in a way that felt confrontational and unnecessary, especially in a very crowded store. The interaction felt public and embarrassing. What concerns me most is that I have observed other customers return items without being subjected to the same level of questioning. As a Black/African American customer, the inconsistency in how returns are handled raises serious concerns for me about fairness and equal treatment. I contacted corporate, and although the store lead followed up, there was no accountability -- only explanations. There was no acknowledgment of how inappropriate it was to address a customer in that manner in front of others. All customers deserve to be treated with professionalism, dignity, and consistency. I hope this location takes steps to ensure equitable treatment for everyone. Please " do better for your retention customers "
