Geresbecks is local grocery with the real food and groceries that you need and want. The bakery is…read morevery good. Great variety. Sometimes hit or miss on the pies though. Sometimes it isn't very well mixed and there can be salty spots in your sweet pie. But as for butcher shop meats it is very good.

Geresbeck's has been a staple in east Baltimore county for decades! This is the only place I go for…read morecrab meat, shrimp, lobster, packaged & baked goods and now- WESTERN FRIES!!! Geresbeck's has the best sales in town when it comes to seafood. The shrimp is always cheap & they steam on site. On a recent visit while waiting for my shrimp to be steamed, I took a walk around the market to see what else I could buy. Geresbeck's has a great speciality ice cream section. They had my favorite Taharka Brother's honey graham ice cream and some other tasty choices. I ended up in the bakery department and saw SO MANY delicious looking baked goods from a peanut butter Boston crème cake to banana pudding parfaits to mini cheesecakes. Their doughnuts are huge and made with the love of someone that loves to bake. I took quite a bit of photos showcasing their selections. As I walked through the store, I started to get a little hungry for a snack. I came back around to the deli/hot foods department and saw a mountain of tasty looking western fries. Now, western fries are extremely popular in Baltimore and the surrounding counties. I've had my share of western fries from the center of the city, to Brass Hen in Eastpoint mall, to even Royal Farms. All were delicious, BUT THESE FRIES WERE ABSOLUTE LOVE AT FIRST BITE!!! They were crunchy like a piece of fried chicken and tender inside like a fluffy baked potato. Omg, I can taste them right now. They were so, so amazingly yummy. If you love potatoes, or any variation of fries, you'd LOVE these. I actually may go back very soon for a fix. I didn't need salt, pepper, ketchup, NOTHING. Now, for my only gripe about Geresbeck's is that I wouldn't necessarily buy goods outside of the seafood, bakery or specialty items. I found that other items in the store, unless on sale, are higher priced than other grocery stores. But they have to counterbalance that with the affordable seafood prices, right? Anyways, if you're in the area, stop by and pick you up some delicious doughnuts and western fries while you're there. Geresbeck's is a piece of nostalgia that will make you feel like you were back in a time when everything was simpler and easy. They will always be solid with me.

I called first to make sure that they had the items that I was looking to purchase and the man that answered the phone was friendly and helpful. The store is your typical African convenience store. It's a bit small, but has all of the staples that you need. On the Google reviews, I saw someone mention that they felt the items were overpriced; maybe when compared to purchasing in one's home country, however for imported goods, I felt that each item was priced pretty fairly, especially relative to other African stores that I have visited.

Cleanliness 2/5 Staff friendliness 4/5…read morePrices 4/5-beware of expiration dates Variety of brands-4/5-chk exp dates Restrooms-3/5-surprisingly clean Not a great grocery store but they have some items the other grocery stores have at half the price. This location has been totally remodeled and updated to look asthetically pleasing however they are still selling short dated and some expired & molding food. Some items in store can be great deals however the fresh produce is not always fresh (I've found pints of moldy strawberries, blueberries, grapes etc) Buyer beware of the food quality-seems like they get nearly outdated items and don't check fresh produce to remove moldy or rotten food items. This location has the potential to be a top selling grocery store if they keep the items fresh and rotate out molding items. Additionally they have good prices on certain brands that the major grocery stores carry which sets them apart-but again some items are expiring in a day or two so before buying check expiration date. Otherwise for items you'll use quickly like milk, eggs, bread etc the prices can't be beat. They also have fresh fish (tilapia filets) which are cheap and delicious. Definitely recommend trying those. Overall I would recommend trying this place just beware of the expiration date and it bears mention that they have a gluten free & healthy choice variety of some items. Overall rating 3/5.

I personally didn't think that was fair especially when the lines are long. Why close your line then walk off like you don't see this long line going down the aisle. I will continue to stop for any convenience items but please address with the employees that long lines need to be the priority.

Bought two at-bone steaks ( exp date 7/27) yesterday, opened up for dinner today and they were rancid ! Drove back to Giant (6 miles) to return, dealt with Jordan whom was very helpful and provided me an immediate refund. Went back to meat section and picked up two more T- bone steaks ( exp. Date 7/27) and returned home to prepare dinner. Cut the 1st package open and again the meat was so rancid it almost made me sick! Again, drive back to Giant to return these steaks and decided to talk to the Manager, Christina and make her aware what had happened and to remove the remaining T-Bone steaks from the bin. She acted as she cared less with what I had to do to just eat a couple steaks for dinner. I asked if I could be made whole by somehow compensating me for my time and gas. She flat out said, " we don't go that" and sent me back to get a refund at the customer service counter. I let her know I would be making a complaint on social media and I am working on a letter to Mr. Ira Kress, CEO to voice my concerns regarding this matter. I will be shopping at Weiss and Safeway for my meats in the future!!

The fresh peppers selection is lacking here. We were on the hunt for some Thai Bird's Eye chilis,…read morebut all they had were bell peppers and some habeneros. We were able to find a small Styrofoam cooler though, which was great. We struck out at the Dollar Tree first. I don't know if this is Giant's fault, or not, but there are two benches out front on the sidewalk. These benches are placed right next to a building support column, leaving JUST enough space for me to get through in my wheelchair. Yet less than three feet away, the sidewalk is double wide, which would put the benches out of the walkway. So when I was trying to get from the Dollar Store to Giant, there was a large dude sitting on the end of the bench, making it impossible for me to get through because his legs and shoes were in the way. And, for reasons I do not understand, he refused to stand up and move for a second. He swiveled on the bench to sit sideways. I missed smashing his feet by millimeters. The best thing about this store is the ice cream room. Seriously. There are like 8 freezers, all secluded in a bumped out section of the store. I saw frozen delights in there that I have never before seen in my life. If it didn't take 15+ minutes for me to get to this store, I'd do all my ice cream shopping there and never have to get the same flavor twice. EVER. Other than that, it's your average grocery store. Giant can be pricey, but then again I'm usually an Aldi shopper. There are just some things you can't get at Aldi. Decent. Would recommend if you're in the area.
