GO TO GIANT INSTEAD. Easily one of the most disrespectful customer service experiences I've had at the DELI. I politely asked a simple question about whether to use the kiosk and was met with yelling and attitude like I'd committed a crime. Then, instead of de-escalating, another employee decided to pile on. Completely unprofessional, embarrassing, and unacceptable. This is a place of employment, not a PRISON YARD. If interacting with customers is this unbearable, find another job. No one deserves to be spoken to like that while spending their money in your store. I am loyal customer of this grocery store. The store is right sized and has very good prices as compared to Giant or Safeway. I frequently have to ask for something out of stock in produce but employees are helpful and courteous. Love the fact that there are butchers available to custom cut and seafood counter is always manned. Employees are helpful and they play great music in store. My biggest complaint is the digital coupons never load and you have to ask for assistance in getting the deals but people at self serve check out are on it and can help. read more

Actions speak louder than words. We have used the digital coupon system correctly for the past five weeks and upon checkout it was not applied. Needing to go to Customer Service after every checkout is not just not an option for a proper grocery store. Yet, that has been the response. Why is there a card for one price and a digital system that even baffles the workers for yet another cost? we have followed all instructions, no matter how they respond after this post. The only response is to give my nearly $300 per week to another grocery store who actually cares about its customers, like Giant and Safeway in the area. Since Shop Rite refuses to fix a flawed system, no matter what they say. They have had their chance. My patronage is just not that important to them no matter what wordy response they have to this. Admit your errors and fix it...but to Shop Rite, they live by the "store is always right" philosophy...not the consumer. read more

Now that they have a 20 item limit on the self check out line and the people at the self checkout are aggressive and rude about enforcing it, I no longer shop here. If you are going to put a limit, you need to hire several quick cashiers in the other lines. Not 2 slow, incompetent ones. Terrible service! I will not return to this grocery store. Recently moved to the area and wanted to try a new store. The cashier was unpleasant and could not have been less thrilled to help us. I opted to go to a checkout line with a staff member as opposed to self checkout, simply to support continued hiring of cashiers, and clearly this cashier would've rather not had a job. First time to the store, wanted to try a new market vs Giant and/or Wegmans. From the minute we walked in, I was unimpressed. Produce area is small in comparison. They do not have a big selection and their prices are way higher than other markets I've been to. So I was unable to get everything on my list and had to finish at another market. Because it was the evening and I needed to get all I could so I could finish elsewhere w/enough time to get home and make our weekly meals, we grabbed what we could. Fast forward - heading to check out and one of the female employees was walking w a basket towards us but oncoming, and shot me this dirty look bc I did not move out of her way even though we were already walking to check out and she had yet to start walking towards our direction. I just gave her a dirty look right back. The only isle open to check out was the self checkout 20 items or less, I believe is the max. Since we had more than 20 items, the scanner and machine kept stopping and needing assistance. The only person at the time avail was on the phone. So we had to stand there while she ran over to clear it. This happened 3xs w/her & when I said I don't know why it keeps stopping. She let me know it was bc it's X amount of items or less only but we don't have cashiers so you can only checkout here. Okay, how much sense does that make?!? Short staffed, okay, fine, but if this is all that's available to checkout and you know it will require an employee to clear it w/a code every few items, wouldn't you make sure someone is standing there. This continued for a good 15 mins, with a half full cart, we were at the point where we were about to cancel and leave it all there and leave when some young kid, who looks like he hates life (as did the other employee w/an attitude) came over and entered his employee ID to clear it each time. It was absolutely ridiculous. It shouldn't take 30 mins to checkout. Not impressed w/the store section, prices and definitely not the experience. We will not be returning. read more

A wonderful grocery store! The staff is wonderful and we love, love, love the Italian goods selection (hubby is Sicilian). From store baked sfogliatelle as good as A NY bakery, to prociutto, Italian parsley, canned caponata- they have it all! And at good prices and top quality to boot! At holidays they have amazing prime rib sales. Its also a very pleasant place to shop & the bowl and bread store brand is generally very good. Give them A try! read more

My buddy brought me here to buy some supplies I needed for the coming week. I haven't been to this part of town, but the place is located in a nice part of town so I did not hesitate. Parking was easy to find, and walking in was a relief from the humidity outside. This store is pretty nice, and has more variety than the Harris Teeter stores I've been to thus far. Although I had a very short shopping list, I did stock up on more stuff I needed to last me through the following 2.5 months. I also bought some supplies in the case that severe weather hits the area. This store is pretty legit, and I would recommend it to anyone living in the vicinity. I don't know if I'll be back, as I live pretty far away from this place. But given the chance, I'd shop here again. read more

This place is absolutely infuriating on a Sunday. Two lanes open and the rest is self check out. Which I could understand if they were under staffed, but with 4 attendants standing by at self check out you would think they could shift someone to an actual lane. Instead they let the self checkout lane extend down and length of an aisle. Sunday is a big day for weekly grocery shopping. Self checkout for a weeks worth of groceries becomes difficult to maneuverer especially when all groceries have to remain on the bagging station. When asked why they didn't open another lane the response I received was the issue is people keep removing items from the bagging area which is why the lines are long. Not the issue in my opinion. Also very helpful to have the clerk put my bags in my cart after I had paid...thanks for the assist. read more

First time in a long while...certainly the first time during COVID19. Employees were compliant, some customers were moving a little too fast and too close on a Wednesday late morning. Store was clean and a bit more open spaced than I remember. Went specifically for some German staples, but came away without. Did find some pork and deli meats and two bags of frozen shrimp at reasonable prices. Store was not overly crowded. May go back again for the shrimp. read more

I love this place more than a reasonable amount for a grocery store! When I first started shopping here a few years ago, it struck me as so different from other grocery stores because the lighting was more muted & they played THE BEST music! On one occasion I found myself choking up & singing along with Kate Bush in an aisle. Theres something intentionally peaceful about it... so much less stressful than other grocery stores... almost relaxing. The main thing that made me decide: it was about time for me to leave a 5 star review is: as I was just leaving, I noticed that they will be closed for Thanksgiving. For many years I would check the ads then go from store to store to get the items I need at the best prices. I can honestly state I am a reformed circular checker, now i only shop at Shoprite of Timonium. I cannot comment on the other stores in this chain but this one rocks. "Come on", you might say, "A store is a store" but i beg to differ. Great produce and fish, good grocery selection for a store this size, aggressive pricing and most of all, great people. From Cathy at customer service to the folks in fish to the floor workers, they have always helped me out. Need a free turkey, I earn one every year just by getting the stuff I need. They even have 00 flour for pizza crust which i couldn't even find at Wegmans, If all that weren't enough, I even won a $1000 scholarship to go to college from Shoprite and Unilever. Shoprite is a completely different shopping experience from say a Wegmans or Wal-Mart. To get the most out of Shoprite, coupons are the way to go or dare I say extreme couponing is the way. The way in which the ads are structured, they want you to buy in quantity, typically quantities of 4 or 5 items of the same variety, to get a deal price. Most of the time, those deals coordinate with coupons that you can find online or in your Sunday paper. When you stack coupons on top of their great deals, it is easy to pay $30 for a cart full of groceries, no lie. The service here is very good. This is a union shop and the crew are all professional. The employee named "Tyesha" had such a lousy attitude, for example when I told her to please tie my bags so my items wont fall out she laughed and told me " whatever white boy" and never did what I asked of her to do. I was appalled and marched straight to her manager and discussed what occurred. The manager said her staff is relatively new and she told me to be patient but I told her there is no excuse for refusing to do their job and her staff certainly have NO RIGHT to be name calling customers especially on their race. This location started using a kiosk for the deli. The internet doesn't work on my phone and I can't download any apps at the moment so I come in to the store in person. But after I put in my order, I have to wait 45 min for the deli order. I asked if they can process the orders on a first come first serve then tend to the orders they receive from their app just like at fast casual and carry out stores and they said, no. But they also told me that I was not the only one who complained about the kiosk and that many other people have complained about the use of the kiosk. So if your store is receiving so much customer feedback, why don't you do something about it!!! ========News flash: the information your store is getting from your app is NOT valuable. You guys are NOT Facebook or Amazon. It is only encumbering customers especially elderly and others who either do not wish to use your app or cannot utilize the app. The other problem is the deli section employees close up whenever they feel like it even if it is 15 min prior to the closing time. When I used the kiosk to place an order the woman behind the deli counter came over and shut it down and canceled the order even though i twas before the deli closing time. She told me she already cleaned and put away the equipment. Here is a suggestion: then set the deli operating time reflective of the actual operating hours! THe manager was even worse when he said, yeah, you need to come in 30 min before the closing time listed if you want service. What?! Then why don't you guys actually set the deli operating time that is reflective of the ACTUAL operating hours? But the customer service employees are nice. read more

If you love couponing, this is your grocery store. This Shoprite will double your coupons up to $1. Most stores only double up to $.75. This means that if you have a coupon that is $1 off a product, you now get $2 off! Pair this with store sales and you're well on your way to being on extreme couponing. I tried my hand at couponing a little bit and saved significant money here, mainly on toiletries and some packaged foods. Plan your trip on the early end of their sales though because other couponers will get there and CLEAR the shelves. The store also sends "super coupons" out to the local area and there are some really great deals and prices. They have a wide selection of produce and have a nice seafood counter. Staff is pretty friendly and when I had a lot of coupons I never got an attitude from anyone. I believe there's a 20 or 25 coupon limit. They had no signs of price & I didn't notice because I was loading my other groceries. When I called they just said no returns & they don't make up the pricing. I'm not one to write reviews about grocery stores. However, I need to comment on ShopRite's salad bar. Everything was as fresh as can possibly be. The layout was fantastic and the person who is responsible is Gloria I am told. This was a fantastic layout and included roasted vegetables, different types of cold salads, fresh salmon and freshly cut salad. Pretty incredible for a salad bar. Pretty nice place. I like to go here to do my couponing. The cashiers are friendly. When they are out of something they don't have attitudes when it's time to write out a raincheck. I really enjoy coming to this location. I have a Shoprite that is much closer to my house but I would rather get on I83 and drive all the way to this location. The employees here are exceptionally nice. Even the Customers are courteous. No matter how crowded the aisles get the customer always excuse themselves and are very patient and we all are in a comfortable environment. There no attitudes, or accidents with the carts. LOL The prices here are VERY reasonable. I love to buy lamp chops and they always have them and I can get them very cheap. I LOVE mussels and cherry stone clams and they are always available and a great price. The store is always clean and fully stocked with merchandise. The weekly sales at ShopRite are always amazing and this location is pretty good with having what's on sale in stock, they will search the store high & low for the item and then if they absolutely don't have it they will issue you a rain check. Store is always clean and shelves neatly stacked. You used to be able to self check out with any amount of groceries and coupons but some slickster being dishonest messed that up. Just know if you're a couponer you'll have to go thru a cashier with over 10 coupons, other than that I enjoy shopping here and prices stay reasonable whether on sale or not. read more

I had been a Superfresh customer for over thirteen years and am now a Shoprite customer since it's so close to my house. The produce selection is good, but the inventory seems to change every few months, meaning I often can't find what I had previously bought. The worst part, as mentioned by Darin L., is the service. Management, what the hell is wrong with you?? You usually make zero eye contact and seem like you're pissed off at...everything. My experience isn't limited to three or four incidences but, rather, at least twenty. Let me state this again: I have been coming to this location for about fifteen years, be it as a Superfresh or as a Shoprite customer, and I make purchases at least twice a week. I see who you are and you know who I am. Some of you are carry-overs from the Superfresh days, so you've seen me for about a decade. Do you even remotely acknowledge the loyalty I've shown? Nope, not at all. Instead, you, at best, avoid any eye contact (hey, all I want to do is smile and greet you like a normal human being) or, worse, if I have to talk to you about an issue, you make it seem like I am a monumental bother (woman with the longish, dirty blonde hair, you need to put on your happy face and adjust your consistently *terrible* attitude. The next time I get any of your sourpuss, I'm calling corporate). I spend about $2,500 a year in food and have done so for over fifteen years. That, for those of you who lack a calculator, is $37,500 of loyalty. I've paid for someone's salary over there and think Shoprite customers deserve far better. read more

This is my favorite Shoprite in the area. Overall I like the cleanliness , the way the store looks and the service. I have never had bad service at this store. It is coupon friendly and prices are super competitive. They also have specials around holidays that can't be beat ! My one and only gripe is the super couponers clearing shelves and standing in front of items and not moving for other shoppers while they check their binders of coupons and clogging aisles with multiple carts. This is a decent grocery store and a step down in ambiance from the SuperFresh. It is clean but not fancy. The produce is fresh and they have a deli with a decent selection of deli meats and prepared foods. The bakery isn't as fancy or extensive as some of the local stores. What I find fascinating about this place is the selection of frozen pasta (ravioli), pasta sauces and bread crumbs. I didn't realize that there were so many kinds of bread crumbs.
