I visited Save Mart in Galt, CA [1059 C St] on Saturday, 07/25/26, around 2:30 PM. During this grocery trip, I wanted to purchase oysters since they were on sale between Friday and Sunday. When I approached the seafood counter, it took a bit of time to be assisted. I originally desired to get two dozen of the BBQ Oysters, priced at $12 for each 12-count bag. Unfortunately, the associate indicated that they were sold out. I got the 12-count of the Kumamoto Oysters instead. When trying them at home, the oysters were beyond fresh and of amazing quality. The downfall was that they were super tiny. Even though the oyster shell with the meat was small, I'd still get them again. The entire store was clean and presentable. I appreciated the oyster deals, because purchasing oysters at restaurants is significantly higher. This Save Mart gets the job done and I'd return to this location whenever I am in the Galt area. read more

I like this store , but the lazy grumpy lady at register 3 "Corrine" needs to find a new profession . Customer service is just not one of her skills. Multiple time I've been here and she has a salty attitude , and threw a fit before because I accidentally brought 17 items In the 15 items or less aisle , even when she didn't have anyone in line. I agree with the person who commented on the dog in savemart. I've seen it too many times myself and its not sanitary. In fact, I don't believe I have ever seen a service dog. If they claim emotional support animals, they are not service dogs and do not have the same protection as service dogs. There are signs clearly posted on the front of Savemart. I have dogs but I don't take my dogs in food places, it's just common sense and courteous for others who may not share the same sentiments. I have asked Savemart to stop allowing random dogs in their store but it falls on deaf ears and the reason I shop elsewhere now. read more

Closest grocery store for me and they have everything I need. Takes me a couple minutes to get there no traffic.

Prices have been increasing constantly. Looking at other food shopping options in the area.

The store gets five stars for the deli department, but overall a three is generous. I go here probably at least once a week for the fried chicken/potato wedges/ribs/wings and the great fresh bread rolls. Other than that, I shop at Walmart or elsewhere. Their prices are pretty high in comparison to other stores. In addition, and all through the pandemic, they have failed to enforce the mask mandate. Each time I go in, whether it is a weekend or during the week, night or day, very few are masked. This includes one gentleman who works in produce and two vendors stocking shelves with their product. Because of this, I go in, make my purchase from the deli and leave. I do my grocery shopping elsewhere. read more

There seems to be a meat department problem where things rot before the expiration date. An employee told me that it's likely a situation where there's temperature problems in the trucks. This could be a dangerous problem with parasites. If the trucking problem is true then nothing perishable can be trusted. I have contacted and discussed the situation with them and got my money back for previous purchases but have no idea if the root problem has been resolved. It's sad when you can't trust the store that's close to you. I'm hoping to hear back from them. read more

I come here for the hot deli and salads! Prices are good when there are sells! Seafood and produce are amazing! Great selection to ice cream also. Get the app and every Friday is a yay- day! Get a free item :) customer service is a hit or miss but it's okay it's not the stores fault just the people who work there. We are all human and I'm not there for the service I'm there to get my deal and go! We took my friend's elderly mom here to buy groceries. As you walked inside it is nice and bright and clean. As we helped pick out her weekly needs I noticed the prices were a little higher. Not extremely higher, but some were .10 or .15 more than I was used to paying. An elderly family who doesn't really cook much. The cart really had frozen microwave stuff, breads, juice, bags of salad, to instant coffee. We just cruised the different aisles and powered shop. I noticed the store was nicely stocked. Produce part was beautiful. The deli had a nice variety to pick out some little sides for a couple of days. Overall, I did notice that their sale ads were great. If you're cooking big meals they've had some great meat sales and such. Timing is everything. Lol. The negatives would be the people outside hitting you up for cash. It's a little scary when you have elderly with you and someone says they need a tank of gas and you didn't see them walk up. Lol. I only had $5 on me. In the past I have never been a fan of Save Mart but when we moved to Galt this was one of the very few options for grocery shopping. We began shopping here because the other grocery store is on the other side of town. We have grown to love this store. They have a good selection and we have been able to find a lot of things we weren't able to find at other grocery stores when we used to live in Sacramento. They have a good selection of fresh produce and meat. The prices are reasonable. The customer service is good as well. My only complaint is that I cant always find the meat that is on sale available at this store and I often plan my meals around the meats that are on sale for the week. read more

I remember a time when this store was the example of service. They probably made more money at that time because Walmart was not part of the local Galt Economy. Can't beat the bakery prices!! Galt is my original hometown and they seem to put more of a personal touch on there cakes then at any other grocery store in Elk Grove! So instead of getting our treats from Elk Grove, we went to galt. And I'm so happy we did! It was a little hard to translate what we wanted on paper so the cake decorator knew what to do, but it all worked out great. 18 Halloween donuts and a 5in decorated Halloween themed birthday cake for only $16!! I go to this store frequently and I like the availability and quality of products and the cashiers who work there. They are always friendly and courteous. In light of this recent lack of items on the shelves online and elsewhere due to this virus, I was shocked to find essentials like paper and cleaning products. Well, kudos to this store because they were stocking up like crazy and they had a lot of them on sale. This is awesome and I have a high respect for the business ethics of this store. The man who works in the bakery and makes cakes is great! I had a lot of requests for my mother's birthday cake including making a special color and he had no problem with that, and even made suggestions and was enthusiastic, positive and happy to do it, thank you for hiring him he's an asset to the company! This store is okay. They have a decent selection of things especially eggs which I like but their registers/PayPads freeze up constantly & checkers are moody sometimes, not professional. I recently went to savemart I was running late so I couldn't stop at the bank I went in to get a Red Bull and cash back, the cashier, a younger Latina, was ringing me up and when I went to pay she declined it, she said I had reached my daily limit of cash back which is impossible because I haven't gotten cash back there for a while. I tried again several times and even when I didn't ask for cash back she declined it, she made it impossible for me to check out and I ended up leaving empty handed and upset . I tried it the next day with the same person and the same thing happened, at this point I knew she had to be declining my Apple Pay on propose because I tried it again later with another cashier and it went through just fine. I like savemart but that's not okay to do that to people, I never met that girl in my life and she wasn't rude but I could tell she was being passive aggressive with me and several people a head of me in line. read more

Pros: Produce section well stocked and very well maintained and fresh. Cons: This store is very dirty and run down. They do not offer many organic/natural foods here. Save Mart in Galt is a "small town" market (not SUPER market), and it serves the purpose of most of those of us who live here quite well, thank you! They have decent grocery choices for their space constraints, and I like those who work there....they are my neighbors. It's close and it's convenient, and it's by all accounts a HUGE improvement over the little "mercado" near my house in Baja. The male manager is rude and doesn't know how to provide customer service.. He had no patience for the elderly. Today the store was busy and he was under staffed. He seems frustrated and he could not multi-task. He didn't seem aware that his Lottery Machines were not working and he directed us over to them to purchase tickets. When we returned to inform him, he said we would have to stand back in line. Ridiculous. I'm a manager and if upper management observed my rude behavior towards my customers, I would be reprimanded.
