I came for the 99-cent ice cream and freebie Friday item, Wiley Wallaby Licorice. I haven't tried the licorice yet. However, I chose the watermelon flavored kind. I have had the same brand of licorice at the Dollar Tree and the green apple flavor is my favorite! Customer service was outstanding! Nico helped me at the customer service area. The cashier was great too. My complaint is that they overcharged for the chips, and the sprinklers were on when I went to get back in my car. The individual bags of chips are 5 for $5.00, yet the salsa flavor rang up wrong. I opted to not argue, but it isn't right that they overcharged me. Service can be a lot better. My cashier would stop and look at what other people are doing mid scan and checking her texts and actually stop what she was doing and replying texts on her phone. Then when the customer behind me asked how she was doing, she said " oh I would be a lot better once I get out of here, and go on complaining about work." Then she put my groceries in bags randomly and just dropped the bags in the cart instead of putting them in the cart. read more

I just want to bring this up now before things start to get worse, which they probably will at some point. I've never had a problem with this store before but for the last couple weeks I've had problems with the deli workers. Not all of them, just a couple. They make me feel very uncomfortable when I order food from the deli, I feel like I'm walking on eggshells. I have to be extra nice to the workers so they won't get upset with me when I ask them to use a bigger container instead of squishing everything in a small container. Most of the ladies are really nice but some of them give me rude looks. Also, there's a skinny blonde lady who covers up her head and face with a black cap and black mask who is especially rude, but I can tell that she tries to hold back but I feel like if I ask her to not use a small container or to not give me $10 of pasta when I ordered $8 that she might flip out on me. I don't want to have a bad experience here and I really enjoy shopping here, but the rising tension makes me wonder if I should start shopping elsewhere. read more

We explained to the manager that we're looking for donations and we're able to provide our tax ID but he shrugged us off and was incredibly unprofessional. He was trying to difficult at every stage. Never spoke with someone so antagonistic. Kinda creepy. I asked can I speak with a supervisor- a resounding "no!" Then I file a missing rebate claim with him. He replies that the rebate had expired. I send him photos and proof showing that was not the case, no response. He just lied, didn't check. I went in to Save Mart on Oakdale rd today for a few things. I went to the check out and there was 3 open ones and self serve. I had a bottle of wine so I could not do self serve. I was in line for 30 minutes! One line closed because of a customer dispute they were working on. My line had 3 older ladies ahead of me. The each were already paying Save Marts high prices but then it took so long cause each one bagged their own groceries!! I could tell it was not something easy for them. I was thinking, no employees were coming to open a new line to help customers. Then no baggers any more to help the older people. I have already noticed the higher crazy prices. I only go into a Save Mart for convenience and for just a few items only now. Shame on you Save Mart! Money is more important than your community! Sure let's go build another store! I wanted to share a good experience that I had today on 11/27/25. I did my shopping and proceeded to the register, as the cashier Jessica was ringing up my items it came to 59.00. I only had 49.00 on my debt card so I asked if I could take off some items and instead of taking off the items she paid the extra $10 herself. She didn't have to do that so appreciate her kindness and the fact that she did what she did to that I wasn't embarrassed in front of the other customers. Jessica has definitely proven to me that there still are good people in this world. I like going to save Mart once in a while I like their deli department and their breads and stuff. I found a couple of good deals in five for 25! But avoid the fish sticks and stuff like that. They aren't good. Sometimes I find things at Savemart that I can't normally find at my usual grocery stores that I go to the people that work at Savemart are very nice and very efficient. I'm sick right now so l ordered delivery they were missing half the order so pissed. Got credit for some but I missed 5 things 2 days I've been trying to get ahold of them hanging up on me 3 times... waiting over 45 minutes then just hanging up disconnect to. Store doesn't seem to care my second time I've had problems... I just got off the phone with corporate customer service I believe they were so rude to she made me so upset with her absolutely terrible attitude no compassion.. wrong job for her that's for sure l. Terrible sad upsetting experience. I placed an order two weeks ago for pickup today at 7am for a quarter sheet chocolate cake with chocolate rosettes pearls and shavings with chocolate buttercream. The cake was supposed to be divided in half because it was for my two adult daughters with whom we're celebrating this weekend. Today at 6:38am I got a call that there was no buttercream in the warehouse could I choose a different color. I was so stressed because we were traveling several hours for this party and I didn't want a child's cake in rainbow type colors. We finally settled on a neutral shade they had in stock. When we showed up, the cake was a half sheet, not the smaller quarter sheet I ordered, not decorated how we discussed and the names were wrong. The baker added some roses then looked at our order form and saw our order was completely wrong, the manager offered us a $10 refund because we couldn't wait for a re do and said well you're getting extra cake because of the larger wrong size. I have to tell you I left the store in tears. I don't want this to ruin our family party but after many years of using this bakery we won't come back here. The baker said they made the cake right after I spoke to them so there was no care or thought of what was actually ordered, just a sorry about that here you go and take what we've thrown together in 20 mins. With today's economy it's sad Save Mart has gone downhill and has no customer care like in previous years before it was sold and acquired elsewhere. It's probably not even the correct cake flavor but we won't know until later. Crazy how terrible this whole experience was and how the attitude of the manager and bakers were just like, whatever. read more

This cake was on my granddaughters's fourth birthday We got another cake for you guys to give you another try. This is the second try that the second cake was a disaster. The first cake was made different than what we describe. This cake was too sweet and it was dry and nobody ate it after we only serve four slices from it. It really disturbed my granddaughter's birthday party. I would never order another cake from Save Mart again. Didn't wanna suck as matter fact they gave me back there for slices and we threw it in the trash. It was a disaster. We did not have a back up cake. Very upset with Save Mart. This is on scenic and Oakdale scenic and Oakdale Save Mart. my first mistake was my first granddaughter's birthday last year and they messed up the cake on Oakdale and stand for it. Normally I am happy with the service I get at this particular save mart. The cashiers are always very pleasant and helpful. But today the Mexican old chubby lady that works in deli frying chicken and wedges was super rude! So I had my wisdom teeth extracted and I was getting ready to eat my first solid food meal in over 5days.So I asked for my potato wedges to be fresh. I asked politely because it's the right thing to do when your asking for someone to go the extra mile. So my order is ready and my husband goes to get the bag of wedges. So this old lady acts like she's going to hand him the bag and drops it! With a nasty attitude and turns around and walks away. Another older couple seen the whole interaction and the husband even said" Yeah, that was rude!" Not sure why this older lady is at work acting up with customers. Maybe she needs to be reminded that without paying customers she has no job. Old girl needs a attitude adjustment! The SaveMart location on Oakdale and Scenic has the most attentive deli personnel. The other SaveMarts are so lacking and inattentive. The ladies and gents at Oakdale/Scenic are so kind. They actually look up from what they are doing at the back tables and acknowledge your presence, so you don't feel unseen and ignored. No other grocery delis, even other SaveMarts, are like this. I love this save mart location! They've got it all, flowers, cakes, balloons, fresh salads, sandwiches, and even sushi! I love getting their shrimp rolls. Their freshly made sandwiches are a great deal. You can get a drink and chips for a little over 5 bucks. I also love trying a new salad when I forget to bring my lunch to work . I also have ordered a 10 inch cake for 12 dollars which was awesome!! read more

Hello, working in the Customer Service industry has been a disadvantage when going to grocery stores. One Savemart has always been expensive but you pay for connivence. Going to the location of was fine all other workers were impeccable in their service. The problem was at the register. Not the Cashier, she understood but seeing how they are her hands were tied. Management and Produce Manager. The sale was for avocados, .99 cents per one but the ones they had were not ripe and therefore unusable. So I asked the cashier for the discounted rate because the ones I purchased were way over price 2.99 each. So she called the Produce manager and he told me no and I explained reasonably they were not ripe. I asked for the discount and then they had to walk off and get another manager. No wonder why Savemart is not doing so well. Any Safeway would have obliged me knowing a happy customer goes along way. They gave me a dollar off. That's besides the point, it was the way they treated me when I explained the problem walked off. No consideration for the people that ensure they get their bonuses. That's it. Worst service ever!!! Store unorganized and tried to get to things I needed to buy but their dollies and boxes everywhere. The cashier took, literally, 30 minutes to ring up my 10 items then went walking off twice because she was looking for a bagger. She then bagged my items and kept stopping mid-bag as if she were thinking or daydreaming....she didn't even follow thru with payment and five me a receipt!! She takes forever in her line without disguard for others around her and she takes over 15 minutes to ring each guest. This has happened 5 or more times. Next time avoid her line and avoid the store. I bought couple of packages of boneless spareribs and when I went to cook them the ribs on top were beautiful but when I took them out of the package they were 3/4 fat. The meat on top was the only thing I could eat and afterwards I got so sick I thought I was going to die. I used to shop exclusively at Safeway because that's where I shopped at in the last city I lived. I rarely varied- even though Savemart is much closer. Because of finances (Savemart often offers the things I regularly buy at a fraction of the cost) I started shopping there. I'd buy from one location here or there, depending on where I was when I decided to shop. No more. I have found the store, you guys. Hit the one up on Scenic and Oakdale. They are sooooo freaking nice, you guys. It also happens to be one of the store that pilots products. By that, I mean they test NEW stuff out in this store and, depending on success/failure, they make it readily available in other branches. This rating is for the Deli!!! I had the worst person making my sandwich today on my lunch break. Had I not been so tight on time, I would of not only asked for another person to make my sandwich but I would of definitely complained to the store manager. For starters the lady behind the counter asked me to read off all the ingredients piece by piece as she was making their signature sandwich. Its a signature sandwich how do you not know whats in it!?!? And I had to go pick out my own bread from the bread baskets (bolillo). Second, she threw all the ingredients on my roll as if she was trying to hurt the roll. It was clear to me that she was pissed off about being at work making sandwaches. Lastly, I ended up with an open faced sandwich that was so sloppy I needed a freaking fork to eat it because it kept falling all over the place.. Their cake customization optioms really are excellent and you are hard pressed to find better food at better prices anywhere. The service is what really makes Save Mart so good. Last week i happened to purchase a bag of produce that seemed good but had w pieces that were a bit old. After bringing to the managers attention we werent expecting a refund ot exchange but he insisted. Would never shop anywhere else. Grocery item look up: I called up the Savemart Supermarket on the corner of Oakdale and Scenic. A service clerk answers the phone and kindly ask what can he help me with. I asked if their supermarket has a specific cereal brand, Weetabix, even spelt it out for him, and hint that it's in the organic cereal section. Service clerk puts me on a minute hold. (That was quick..) and confirms his store doesn't have Weetabix, or they ever carried the brand. Honestly, I felt like he didn't take the time to check. So I drove there and checked. Well would you look at that, 7 boxes for 4.89 a box. I was pretty annoyed, so I called the store again to ask if they had the cereal. The same man confirms he was 100% sure. ... seriously, take pride in where you work, what position you have, and at least make an effort to check. Lazy. Pros: the store was clean, organized. Not impressed with their rotten fruit and dirty ass deli case! Word from the wise check your strawberries! Literally they are rotten! Also be aware of their deli case, the next time you're there take a peak at the edges of the case it's filthy and disgusting! Also, as I was mesmerized by the nastiness I observed a large fly trapped in the case! On the same trip I seen a fried chicken piece dropped in the steamer tray water and put right back on top of the other pieces! Ugh I really dislike this store!!! It's not worth their prices! read more
