I have never had no stupid stuff like that. They asked me can put it for pickup. I told them to put it on the curb. I called the the corporate number and told them what the drivers told me about their full truck. They gave me a case number and told me someone would get in touch with me. When I called the number back 2 days later, the rep told me a email was sent. Now they don't want to talk to me. They said couldn't haul off the old mattress, because it was soiled by the rain. They did not tell that if it got damaged or soiled by rain, that they could no longer pick it up. Now I might end getting a fine, because these sorry people didn't haul my mattress.

So we decided to go the custom mattress route; why not support a local business that has been around for years?! That's where Houston Mattress Factory comes in! We found it online and saw some amazing reviews! Decided to go check it out. The outside of the building - very run down. We actually thought about leaving cause 1. It didn't look open and 2. It looked way sketchy! But decided to get out of the car and check it out anyways! And glad we did! The guy working the store, I'm sure it was the owner, was super friendly! We told him what we wanted and he knew exactly where to point us. There were mattresses set up for us to lay in and try.. from that, he got a sense of what we wanted and told us he could make us exactly what we liked, using the materials that we wanted! You can customize the firmness, the material used to wrap the mattress, if you want added foam topper or gel topper.. anything you want! You can even wrap the thing in cashmere if you want!! Lol definitely for the added price but the option is there! We even saw a round bed! Adjustable moving mattresses? Murphy beds? No problem! We got us a firm mattress and he promised he could make it within the week! And he delivered exactly when he said he would! Prices are not horrible; we didn't mind spending slightly more for something that would potentially last longer. He said if we didn't like it, just bring it back and he'll make it right! Just no refunds, cause once the money goes in his wife's wallet, she ain't giving it back! Hah! He definitely liked joking around! He also said that if he mattress starts going soft for sinking anytime within the next 10 years, even if it's 9.5 years, bring it back and he'll cut a hole in it and replace the foam for free!!

Not only did I get something that hasn't been available in department or chain mattress stores for years (a plain polyfoam, not memory foam, mattress, with good quality foam), I got it for less than half the price we paid for our last (memory foam) mattress, from a chain store, a quite number of years (I think over a decade) ago. The mattress is well made and exactly what we like to sleep on - and did sleep on for decades until the department and chain mattress stores (we did not know about mattress factories at the time) stopped carrying it. I chose the firmness with the intention of putting a latex topper on it, which I did, and it's perfect. I personally think plain polyfoam with a latex topper is the only thing to sleep on (I regard attached pillowtops as a scam to see to it that the mattress lasts a shorter time than it could), but this place can make you whatever, I mean ABSOLUTELY WHATEVER, you want - I saw a *lot* of the sample "whatevers"! Oh, and we got some very nice latex pillows (another item in the category of "only thing we sleep on") for a very nice price. Don't be put off by the area or the looks of the place - I'm glad I wasn't. And I'll never buy a mattress from other than a local mattress factory again. I was resigned that I couldn't replace my bed at an affordable price and I would have to downgrade. I saw their ad and messaged them online -- and they responded under 10 minutes. I called a few days later for directions and they were super helpful on the phone. The same was true when I went there. They had the kind of mattress I wanted plus the box spring for hundreds less than my old bed!! Everything was nice and clean. Great prices, AND awesome service. Who could ask for more?!?! ***Delivery Crew Danger***…read more I have achieved a new level of anger this evening, at the ineffective and lazy delivery men of AFW. On top of them throwing my couches, damaging my walls, being insanely rude to my wife, cursing, intimidating my wife about having to take pieces of our couch up a flight of stairs, and complaining the whole time they were here, I have now discovered that the American Furniture Warehouse delivery men helped me achieve a new level of CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION, by not even actually assembling the couch! Please tell me what was the purpose of the delivery?! What the actual fudge is the delivery fee for?! I only discovered this after I heard squeaking and grinding as we tried to recline and sit. And when I pulled on the top of the seats they all came apart. I have no idea if there is damage now and I cant begin to express my anger enough. This is the 2nd time AFW has failed massively. I realized as i came here to leave this review they botched our delivery for my daughter's bedroom set 4 & 1/2 years ago. I had forgotten that, and inadvertently i have given them another chance. Its good to see they consistently fail. My mistake. Smh.
