I am truly so impressed by the Savers thrift store, that I'm kicking myself for not having gone in for years sooner. This store is pretty big, but it is so, so organized. Believe it or not, it is better organized then some of the independent, little thrift stores I've been to. The clothing items are sorted by size, not by color, which I feel like is the more efficient way to find what you're looking for. The purses and wallets are all hung up next to each other, not on top of one another, so you could easily view and select the ones to your liking. I found some treasures. Even the books are organized by author, which is very rare in a thrift store. The books are a bit pricier at $5.99 for a paperback. It depends on what day you go on, as certain days offer better discounts. They even have a section of formal dresses, like bridal and prom gowns, that all looked very presentable. They have the viral jewelry jars, which are very trendy on TikTok. Everything is at this Savers! Please don't sleep on it! read more

Not worth it. I'm not sure how a place that gets their goods FOR FREE and calls themselves a thrift shop can get off with these prices, but this is a total joke. I picked up a VHS tape and thought that the 9.99 price tag was an error... so I picked up another. $14.99. These are the cheapest dollar-store anime tapes you can find. They're cheaper on eBay; literally half this price, and still cheaper after shipping. You're not a boutique, Savers.... you're a sticky, greasy last resort. Act like it. I love thrift stores! I love the hunt and thrill of finding a designer shirt or pair of pants for a fraction of the cost. What I don't love is spending hours hunting and going down endless rows of color coded clothes. That's what I love about Savers - they take the time to catogorize their clothing and shoes by size and color, making shopping much more efficient. For me the selection has always been more hit than miss with all of the clothing neatly organized with more modern than "retro" pieces that you more often will find at the Salvation Army and Goodwill. I have saved so much time going to my (or my husbands) specific size, seeing what they have and if it is not what I am looking for I can quickly move on without worrying whether I have missed the "perfect" shirt or pants. This location is huge (and located next to the Connecticut Beverage Mart) and it might be considered overwhelming to the average consumer without the well organized layout. For the past couple of years Savers has also been my go-to store for Halloween Costumes as I have generally found that those costumes purchased from your standard Party store never quite fit or look like the models on the packaging. For two years I thought it was a fluke but after this past week's shopping trip, I am a believer. This store even has a specific Halloween section with what looked to be last years costumes and there were even accessories for your standard clown, pimp, pirate, etc. costumes. I saw various costume options for men, women, children as well as couples. In addition to clothing they have a varied selection of housewares, books, and other household items. You can also donate your gently used and unwanted clothing and household items through their community donation center located in the store which benefits the Hartsprings Foundation, Inc which supports Big Brothers and Big Sisters in MA and CT. That's good deals and a chance to help a good cause - that's a win win in my book! Just remember - There are NO returns at Savers (an unfortunate realization I once had), only exchanges so make sure that you really like what you are getting before ponying up to the cash register. read more

Savers is a great way to kill some time and sometimes you find things that are pretty amazing. one time i stumbled upon some mauviel copper pots for $10 .. Le Creuset for $5 .. yah sometimes you get lucky but most of the time you just look at junk. This one on the pike was nice and clean, well organized, some ok finds too. These stores change every day, so sometimes it is worth coming back again and again. read more

So big! SO much stuff! Some of it was very dirty looking, others things looked great. They had a Halloween shop of new items, but they were pricey. I bought a good looking Sharper Image alarm clock for $6, get home, and there is no wire/wall adapter, I didn't even think to look! A lot of items are in Ziploc bags hanging on the wall. Some deals to be had! It's like the world's biggest tag sale. I will be back, as needed. Just bear in mind one thing as you walk in the door... Savers is a FOR PROFIT business venture. Granted, they admit this on their website, but I think there's no doubt that they're trying to obfuscate this fact from their customers. "Community Donation Center" reads the sign in front of every building. Translation: "Give us your old crap for free so we can sell it and make money." Oh sure, they connect with local charities too, but it's a classic Trojan horse. These charities collect clothes and household items in bulk for Savers, and in exchange, Savers makes a "donation" to the charity. Using real charities as supply chain foot soldiers while boosting your corporate image? Pretty slick, I gotta say. But of course, I still go here quite frequently. Old clothes for Halloween costumes, and more recently, some pretty nice clothes. Amazing occasional finds, such as high quality work shirts (Izod, Banana, Brooks Brothers, LL Bean, etc.), Shoes and work boots that are in good shape, even a printer/copier/scanner that I got for $7. The color cartridge doesn't work, but who makes color copies anymore? :) Sometimes prices will make you scratch your head, but for the most part, there are good prices here, with lots of secret sales, and opportunities to save money (especially if you donate frequently). Still, I can't award more than three stars to a business that I consider to operate somewhat deceptively. read more

Like all thrift stores, Savers is a hit or miss. When I dropped off a bag of donated stuff, the guy working at the donation warehouse was very appreciative. He gave me a coupon for 30% off my entire purchase. I did not see anything I wanted that day so I gave the coupon to a young lady who looked like she was making a big purchase. I felt good about giving something to a stranger. This place is great for those who are on a tight budget. I saw some prom dresses and this place is perfect for all of your Halloween needs. read more

I always have spend more than I anticipate when I visit. The deals are ridiculously cheap. My annoyance is with this spot is how hard it is to find fashionable jeans/pants for my age. However, I'm a sucker for outerware and sweaters SO this place is right up my alley. One time I purchased a manual camera from here that unbeknownst to me was broken. They must be having financial problems. Prices are very high. Why price USED clothing according to manufacturer. It is still worn not new. Donation card is 20 percent up to $100. I'm sure In the future they will be changing the senior discount. Been coming for years. I will donate to other charities and go to stores and buy brand new. read more

Occasional shopper at Savers. When I went there on April 23, 2015 I was disappointed and upset that Savers has been increasing there prices. On donated clothes! Come on really!? I saw an Aeropostale T shirt priced for 7.99! Really!? I can guarantee you I can buy a brand new T shirt at Aeropostale for less than Savers price that's on a sale rack. Like someone had mentioned in their review its a "Hit or miss" kinda deal. You're looking for that particular item that you don't want to spend to much money on. read more

This place has changed, for the worst. Their prices have definitely gone up. I went there shopping with my little sister. We found a new gap jacket for $40 and used timberland boots for $20 with scratches all over and very worn out heels.....seriously savers? You're a thrift store, not some posh consignment dig. I've even bought a vintage Dooney and Burke bag for $30 at a posh consignment dig. Whoever is pricing your items is trying to rip people off. read more

I love it here. I stop in every few weeks to see what I can find. I recently purchsed a new coat for my son $5.99 barely used. I always check for hooded sweatshirts for the kids, name brands from 1.99 to 7.99. It is also a breeze to donate items, pull up and they come out to help you. Great concept, and I am glad to help with donations and purchases. I believe the proceeds go to the boys and girls club. read more
