"Karma, karma, karma, karma Karma chameleon You come and go, you come and go" (Culture Club) Karma's Closet is a well-organized, neat, and fully stocked thrift store and consignment shop. We were warmly welcomed when we walked in and spent a half hour or so browsing around in search of a black and gold gown and black and gold bowtie for a summer event. And where those hard-to-find items continue to elude us, we did see a ton of very nice things for sale. Some of the things were belts, purses, handbags, men's & women's clothing, shoes, boots, sandals, some high end sneakers, kitchen and household goods, small furniture, luggage, and plenty more. So, if you enjoy thrifting, you'll sure enjoy a visit here. PRO TIPS 1) The Yelp listing had an incorrect address. My friend found a few things here! They have a selection of books, some knitting needles & local author/artist products & a small selection of jewelry. I didn't nab anything today but there are definitely some cool items hidden about. My daughter wrote a review based on her experience. I took her to get the money from items we consigned, life had gotten in the way for a bit, and we forgot about it. She was excited to get the money to use for xmas gifts she wanted to buy. The 2 employees were talking when we walked in. The owner looked up the account and said it expired. I said well we were not told there was an expiration when I dropped off the items. She stated well its in the contract you signed. Turned her head and continued her conversation, dismissing us. My daughter left in tears. I will never consign here again. Will go back to Uptown where your money never expires. So rude. My poor kid. read more

Unorganized place that will not let you collect your money after a year is disgusting. smells like mildew. It needs a health check. worker slightly snotty. Your money will expire after a year. It is disgusting and they don't tell you that when you get your contract that your money will expire in a year. God awful disgusting!! Uptown consignment has no expiration on consignment money. First time ever to Karmas Closet and wow what a gem this place is. I originally went here to consign some clothes and as I waited for the clothes to be assessed I of course shopped. There was a sidewalk sale going on - I'm talking 90% off! Everything inside was also very reasonably priced and the selection primo. The selection of clothing is very nice, everything seemed to be in excellent condition and plenty to choose but not so much it was overwhelming like some consignment stores. There is jewelry, shoes, and bags all to look at also. Definitely my favorite second hand store in the Hartford county to get good quality clothes without dumping my whole wallet out. I love this place! It's like the time I found out about growlers and breweries, only with consignment stores. Today, I got this cute orange scarf (1$!), a cozy teal mohair sweater (made in Italy!), and yoga gear in great condition AND this amazing smelling Lemon Lavender body scrub (In the Buff by Dory). She mentioned that it was reiki'ed or something like that and I'm definitely a believer in reiki so that's awesome. All this cost me less than $30, I kid you not. This place is a gem! If you're new to consignment stores like me, the idea is that you put your stuff in the store, and if it sells, you get 50% of the profit! That's so awesome! All the items have actual tags, so it's easy to figure out how much everything costs. Interestingly, the price tag also shows the price, say, a month down the road, so you can actually gamble that someone won't buy it, then come back later and buy at a lower price. It's like a game! Found this place thanks to yelp. Pros: the owner is a total sweetheart. Has a good selection of bags, jewelry, local vendors. Large selection of regular sized clothing, however I'm a "plus" girl. LOTS of stuff for a very small space. Cons: small, outdated plus selection. Will definitely be back just for the other kitschy finds!!! read more

Wonderful store with great deals! I found this store from a Groupon and I'm so glad I did!! It's a small shop with a good selection of great clothing options. The woman who owns the shop is very friendly and helpful!! I scored a brand new pair of DKNY jeans ($90 tags on) for $12. You just can't beat that price!! read more
