If you're a thrifter or looking for very curated interesting pieces, I would recommend skipping this place. The back clothing section is overpriced and not very well curated... quality is not cohesive throughout, with some very cheap feeling items being priced high just like more expensive feeling items. The White Rabbit is such a fun find! Emily is the owner and she's there every time I've gone to this charming store! The store has so many cool and interesting little things, like beaded keychains, hair accessories, candles, jewelry, greeting cards and decor. Some of it is vintage and some is locally hand made. The back of the store is the thrift clothing section. Everything looks to be in excellent shape. There's also records, shoes and purses. I saw a Dior coat, and some items by Burberry and by Alexander McQueen. They are selective about their selection of items they accept. There isn't any of that awful stuffy smell. It feels and looks like everything is brand new. It's easy to look and touch things without the fear of everything falling. This store isn't stuffed at all. What a great little joint in West Hartford, for creative gifts and such. Here's a little personal history for you. The White Rabbit is located in a beautiful building on Park Road where my dear mother had a hair salon for many years. The building still looks great, actually even cooler now that it's a thrift/gift shop. I live in the nabe but have never visited White Rabbit. I was in the market for a gift card for my very stylish aunt who was turning 70 and my mom suggested White Rabbit. Excellent choice!! They have so many neat things: jewelry, hand made cards, really neat used clothes and much more. Though I went for the gift card, I left with a unique wooden box that happened to have the initials of my betrothed besties inlaid on the front. Not sure what this box was intended for but my friends LOVED it. Check this joint out for a gift, for yourself, for fun. read more

This is my favorite store to pop into from time to time. The owner, Emily, has such great taste and I never leave without buying something (and wanting to buy more). Wonderful eclectic goods including print and original artwork, antique home goods and furniture, consigned new and vintage clothing...there is something for everyone. First weekend getaway to Hartford, CT and we made a beeline to the farm stands for pie and then to The White Rabbit. Read the reviews about the eclectic and well-curated vintage items and found this shop lived up to its reputation. We walked in to a sunlit shop and browsed through prints of butterflies and dragonflies, locally made soaps, dishes, houseware, cards, intricate vintage jewelry. You progress towards the back of the store into a second room for more furniture, artwork and toys, then to a third room filled with a mix of new and vintage clothes. I used to be a regular shopper at thrift stores, but now that I'm older, the musty smell aggravates my allergies - The White Rabbit vintage area has no irritating smells at all! In the era of Covid19, I was worried at first walking into the back room, but all the clothes, shoes and hats seemed professionally clean before they were put on the racks. Amazing selection of dresses from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Prices are fair and reasonable. I bought a black wool bucket hat made in Italy for $20. The owner told us there were other vintage stores on the same street, but they didn't seem as clean or as stylishly curated as The White Rabbit. read more

My first visit last week and I love it! Combination of eclectic, vintage and local small business - handmade leather bracelets, olive my skin products, vintage and not so vintage clothing (LL Bean vintage men's houndstooth wool hunting pants, Vera Bradley corduroy pajamas, Lulu Roe items, long silk 60's robe), a room full of vintage toys, primitive home furnishings and a warm welcome from the owners mother. The prices are perfect - not too high but not cheap cheap - but take note of the $5 rack. read more

It should not be called a consignment shop. It's way more. I love it, and found it by mistake! But there are no mistakes, and I found a spot with unique clothing, some vintage, jewelry, hand made beautiful things, perfect for unique and artistic people you usually have a hard time buying gifts for in regular spots. Prices are reasonable, some a great bargain, some pretty expensive, but clearly the prices are appropriate, for what you buy. I recommend this gem to anyone.
