In terms of clothing, Savers is getting worse and worse as far as finding any good "finds". It seems as though they are holding back certain higher end brands and picking over the merchandise before stuff goes out on the floor. I have been going to Savers for years, rotating among 3 of them, and for the past year it's really been a challenge to find anything worthwhile. It used to be kind of exciting coming across something nice, but that's happening far less now and it's become work to find any decent items, which is a real drag. (A lot of their inventory is now from the on-line cheap manufacturers.) The reason I'm finally writing a review is because my latest experience is that Savers is not even examining the CONDITION of the clothing before they slap a price on them. Simply put, the brand determines the price. Here's the latest example. I found a pair of plaid summer shorts from Talbots. They looked cute and promising from a distance. Up close, the shorts were literally coming apart at the seams, threads all over the place, the waistband falling apart, the fabric was limp and the item was borderline useless. Price? $10.49. Any shorts labeled "Talbots" brand has an automatic price tag of $10.49, condition be damned. Talbots blouses can range from $11.49 to $13.49, and again they're not considering the condition of the blouse, only the brand. I've seen blouses that look like someone used them as a tablecloth, with a price over $10.00. Yuk. Another example that same trip was an LL Bean skirt. The skirt had a blob of food smashed onto the back of it - you wouldn't even want to touch the skirt it was so disgusting. Price? $11.49. Why? Because the brand is LL Bean. LL Bean has an automatic price of $11.49, regardless of the condition. Items used to be priced accordingly. Rummaging through Savers' racks is not really worth the effort any more. They seem to have automated their process with no thought to the worn condition of the item. (Some of the items are priced so high that if you went to the store, and it was a really good sale, you could buy the item brand new for a similar price.) The money grubbers have swarmed in and taken over the process, picking and choosing what they want to put out. Who knows what they do with the rest of the "good", "nice" donated inventory. read more

This Savers is fairly large but very cluttered. I would recommend if you visit this location that you go early to avoid the crowds and have a more peaceful opportunity to shop. read more

This Savers location has benefited quite a bit from our 'down sizing' during the last year. It's a big store, set up like those 'discount department store' chains. Plenty of clothing for the whole family, a large selection of books and many household goods. They had a super cute tea pot that I had to stop myself from buying. I just got rid of things I don't have space for! I did however find the perfect soup bowls I went looking for. A large section of sheets, curtains and kitchen linens are toward the back of the store behind the kitchen items, vases, dishes, small furniture pieces and glassware. Some of these items are very nice! Appliqued linens, placemats, cloth napkins, pillow shams, bed skirts. There were a couple of areas with kids toys and they have winter weather items like hats, snow suits and coats still available for the little ones. A rack of men's sports coats is along the back wall, as well as ties. Nice to know if you are shopping for a work wardrobe on a budget. There were a few gowns for the ladies too, so if you have a dressy event coming up, you may want to stop in from time to time to see what they have in stock. There are plenty of items here to help set up your first apartment from dishes to window treatments. Everything is in good condition. Before buying new, this is a good option to find what you need and save a ton of money. read more

I went to donate 2 bags of clothes and I saw a man in a truck was having a hard time with the workers excepting donations The worker said your not giving me your junk are you. The man in the truck said why are you being so disrespectful. The worker said you misunderstood me. The truck guy said I know the drill I used to work here. He had a nice file cabinet he was going to donate until the worker made him feel terrible. and he decided not to donate it I don't blame him. He said he was going to call the boss about this. This worker was wrong and totally disrespectful to this man. You should be ashamed of yourself for having someone work for you that is so rude to customers. And by the way your new donation set up in the front of the store is a fire lane and is not in compliance with the fire code!!!! read more

Just got home after an incredibly successful trip to this Savers location. We found a three-piece bedroom set and walked out of there for only 30 dollars. Michele was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire experience. Someone from the team also kindly helped wheel the furniture out, and when the ramp to our moving truck got stuck, someone else from the Savers team literally got on his hands and knees under the truck to help fix it. I don't think I could have asked for a better experience. Come for the great deals, but stay for the most incredibly kind and thoughtful team! read more

SO GREEDY! prices are crazy for DONATIONS??? I think second hand clothing is loosing the plot. Why are we selling second hand in the first place?? To offer more affordable options to people who can't afford to buy new. So WHY are prices at the thrift store more expensive than Walmart or Target??? Came here to make some donations. I've never bought anything here, but then again I don't buy used merchandise. Anyway I found the person collecting the donations a little rude. First of all I had to park in the fire lane because at the time the donation spaces were filled. As I started unpacking he came over and asked if I was making donations as I handed him a box. Then he immediately told me he needed me in a space. I told him I couldn't because the were just filled. So I put it in a space and unpacked more items. I started putting a chair out on the loading area and moments after I was told he couldn't accept it because the seat was slightly ripped. Excuse me? Shouldn't they be thankful I'm donating?? So now its going on the side of the road and I'm sure someone will take it in minutes. I won't be donating their anymore. read more

Honestly I like Savers but this specific location the customer service is non-existent, and they make it very well known they're not happy. The workers here if you ask them for a price on something with no tag they just be like " do whatever" , or if you need a piece of furniture you're practically on your own. Every time I have had a question an associate was rude to me, every single time. This place is also always very messy looking. With stuff all over the place and the isles usually cluttered, very very dirty floors as well. I only keep coming back for the prices that's about it. I went to donate a 7 person dinning table set valued at $900.00 and the guy who was in the donation receiving area was standing there sucking his teeth giving a nasty attitude , looking disapproval at the donation Of the table and asking if the table had deep scratches or any stains and then saying the table had to be put together or it can't be accepted ,it's like how was I to get it there? This is a rather large and well-organized thrift store, and even has a good selection of men's clothes (unlike many local Salvation Army thrift stores). It also has a good selection of books and household goods, including cookware, glassware, dishes and bric-a-brac. If my household is getting low on bowls, coffee cups, plates, etc., due to breakage or chipping from everyday use, I just get more here, since I don't care if they match (although sometimes they do have matching sets). They are weak, however, in some areas - especially furniture, electronics and sporting goods. Their main draw is clothing; it is hit or miss, and prices range from reasonable to kind of high for a thrift store. You will definitely pay more for an upscale brand label. My wife is addicted to this place and has found many women's clothing items with their original tags still attached. The store layout changes periodically, and although it's still August, they already have their new Halloween costume section up. They are open longer hours than Salvation Army thrift stores. As far as cleanliness, it is reasonably clean, as far as thrift stores go. It looks like the inside was recently repainted, but the floor tiles are definitely showing their age. While it's nice that they have men's and women's bathrooms, the men's room isn't the cleanest, and both stalls were out of toilet paper on my visit today. There are about a half dozen dressing rooms at the front of the store. Besides sometimes-high prices (although they do have special sale events) and a dirty men's bathroom, the checkout experience also factors into my 3-star rating. Checking out here is often a slow process, and lines seem to form quickly, even though there are plenty of employees at the front of the store. Either the cashiers are slow, or they are more busy interacting with other employees than the customers. read more

Ok another place I have a love HATE relationship with... Who does savers think they are with those CRAZY prices? HELLO people donated all of that stuff to you. IT COST YOU NOTHING. Why is a pair of USED shoes $25. Um. If I'm going to pay that I'll go to Macy's and hit up a sale with a coupon for something NEW. And forget it if you find something that doesn't have a price tag on it. THEY REFUSE to sell it to you? Why. I can't seem to understand why. Apparently there is only pricing fairy that visits the store on special days/nights when is inconvenient for everyone. Now is the staff nice? Pretty much. Is the store clean? YEP Is it organized, buy color + item. HELL YES. Does it smell funky? Nope Do they have new costumes? YEP YEP Dressing rooms? Yes, but icky + small. Have I found amazing finds here? HECK YEAH christian Dior blouse for $3 Do they have sales a couple times of the year? YES + the store opens wicked early + this is the only time you should shop there. I haven't been to any other Savers but I'm impressed by this location. As with all thrift shops it's hit or miss. I've found great brands here for cheap: Gitman Brothers, John Varvatos & Yves St. Laurent to name a few. There's also always a ton of stuff you'd find at the mall & TJ Maxx. I always look for men's shoes to buy cheap & sell on eBay but haven't had much luck. Prices are all over the place but still on the low side. They offer a rewards program too so the more you frequent & spend the more benefit you'll get. There is a fairly large amount of inventory to go through so I'd suggest making sure you have time to dig. There's always a cast of characters there too so even if you can't find something to bring home at least you'll have an interesting experience. read more

We're done with Savers despite having been regular customers since 2011 in Framingham, Mass. Their new policy (at least at the Warwick store) denies the use of fitting rooms and makes returns very difficult (returns must be made within 14 days and provides only a SAME-DAY store credit for the value of your return.) It's "goodbye" to you Savers. Your prices have climbed anyway and I'm not taking a chance on buying an item that might not fit. read more

You can find some good deals on clothes here, but not with great regularity. Prices are high on some items...Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Gymboree, Children's Place for more than what you could pay new in the stores. Who prices this stuff? I have found Hanna Andersson, North Face and LL Bean on the cheap for the kids. I come in to buy books for the kids. Buy 4 get 1 free for under $3. They have some cool LPs over near the books. Gladys Knight and the Pips, Johhny Cash, and Nutcracker albums were fun finds for $1/pop. Know your prices and be prepard to dig. The golden nuggets are few and far between here. read more

I have had a two bad experiences at this particular savers. I normally like savers, but I will never shop or donate to this location again. One evening I was in the shop when it was nearing closing time and whoever the person in charge was started yelling at all the customers in the store and using very vulgar language to basically get out now! I also had two experiences in donating goods where very nice items were refused, one was an antique side table and they refused to take it because they said it was not in good enough condition! But they were ok with taking 4 other bins of items I was donating. And have you ever seen the furniture that they sell in savers? I was dumbfounded! My husband and I visit this store all the time and have found so many amazing things here from shoes to name brand clothes. BUT over the past year or so it has become a disappointment on so many levels. 1. The prices have gone up considerably to the point where I could buy the same items new with a coupon or on sale at the original store. This stuff is DONATED. 2. The general attitude of the employees is nothing less than "holier than thou" with a few, very lovely, exceptions. 3. The manager is EXTREMELY RUDE. I asked her the price of a dress which had no tag and she accused me of taking the tag off. I was about to drop about $125 on that whole transaction but left everything at the counter. She is constantly in a bad mood and other interactions have been just as unpleasant. There are plenty of thrift shops (and better savers) scattered across the land and we will happily take our business there. read more

The prices here have definitely gone up due to the popularity of thrifting. Should you stumble across a Betsey Johnson dress, it's gonna cost you $50. All of the H&M products seem to go for the same price that you would find in the store if it was on sale. All kinda of awesome odds and ends that they deem excellent (never opened records, goth boots, an old book about Barbie), as kept behind a glass counter near the registers. So this place sucks right? Wrong! Purchasing goods here benefits the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State. There are also great treasures to be fond. On my last trip I was able to score a Trina Turk skirt for $5 that retails for about $100. I will admit I was upset when I saw Paul Simon's Graceland on vinyl for $14, but on a future trip it was still there and it was the days 1/2 off due to its tag color. They have a rewards card with one stamp for each $5 you spend and I think you have to spend $80, which isn't really worth the deal of 30% off your next haul. To get the best deal I recommend making a big donation and asking them to stamp a card for you. It's up to them how many stamps they will give out, but for me they stamped out about $50 worth and filled the card for a modest size donation of books. One thing I wish they would do, throw some signs up so folks know what's 50% off. Their is a constant choirs of people asking each other, "Do you know what color is on sale?" read more

Next time you see a cot for sale, save it for me. I LOVE SAVERS. I shop savers because I love thrifting. There is something about searching for a treasure that has been loved before, that you just don't get at an overrun super store. I could go on for hours about all the things that I love about this location but to save a decade I will tell you a few. Staff: Best staff out of all the local savers. Variety: New stuff everyday. Community: They keep upwith thier customers and stay on top of sales Cleanliness: Cleanest Savers out of the bunch. TIP: Ask a sales rep what tag colors are on sale. Prices have been skyrocketing, they regularly price things higher than they originally sold for, frankly don't think any article of clothing should be over $8 let alone $25 have gotten several sweaters in the past few months with holes in them, it's not worth buying anything unless there's a sale, and when there's a sale the place is jampacked. The workers all seem tired and over worked, frankly some of the nicest people in retail, so I'm not sure what other people are complaining about there. read more

I love this Savers & have found some really great deals here.....such as: brand new Tupperware ( no, not the stuff you can by at Walmart & your grocery store, I am talking REAL: TUPPERWARE people) for like a buck! A beautiful little pair of heels to go with my Halloween costume that I investigated later online to find out that they are a $40.00 pair of shoes...coast me $8.99!! HOLLA! Kids clothes! I am a picker, I could spend hours in this store (no joke) and I do buy almost all of my children's clothing from consignment. I have gotten great NAME BRAND stuff here for dirt cheap, Gap, Childrens Place, Gymboree...I am broke, I can't afford this kind of clothing for my 2 kids brand new! This Savers has a lot more selection that the Savers on Branch Ave. or the North Attleboro location, which are the ones I tend to frequent. Because of this the store had the appearance of not being as organized or clean as the other two. Also the lighting in here isn't as bright so it looks a little dingy. Inevitably I find what I am looking for whenever I go into a Savers, so points for that. But since Warwick is a little out of my way, I won't be making a trip back there unless I'm in the area. This Savers is a total hit or miss. I love thrift shopping for great finds and sometimes, Savers has great stuff. Now, I only go on the 50% off days to begin with. If I am going to buy used stuff, it better be at a steal. You can find some real gems if you spend time searching, but some things are just so overpriced. Just because it is from J. Crew does not mean you can charge what J. Crew charges! If the original tag is still on it, that means they mark it up. Do they know they got the stuff for free? Like most everyone else here, I seem to either have great luck here (great sheets and towels for $3-5, men's shirts for $2-4) or zip. Also, they've raised the prices on the books and with the huge quantity they have, this makes no sense. Also decorative items are wayyyyyy overpriced (old candle for $3.99?????) Forget furniture here, I've never seen anything but junk. But if you are patient and look and come back regularly, you can score some great deals. This store has just gone downhill. I used to love coming here the prices were the low. But the prices now are literally jacked up. Books are over $2. Its a used book most thrift stores sell them for less than $1. If they know its name brand they literally upcharge a good $6-$10 compared to similar clothes that are not name brand. Now I could understand this logic if they were PAYING for this inventory but it's literally donated goods. Trashed wallets/pocketbooks not even in good condition $15-$17 just because its knock off coach. Trashed shoes $10. Sweaters with stains on them $14.99? Toys missing pieces $6-$10. Stuffed animals USED STUFFED ANIMALS $4-$8. Idk these are donated goods that a lot of people who don't have money want to buy it just seems like you're ripping off the poor at this point. read more

Their prices are beginning to approach the actual retail prices of the brands they sell. I used to shop here once a week, but now their shorts, shirts and shoes are only marginally cheaper than shipping at Aeropostale, Payless or Gap. Given that they receive these products for free, as donations, this is unacceptable. Go to Providence, East Providence or North Dartmouth. It will be worth the drive and the gas to not get hosed. read more

Went here today for the first time and was HIGHLY disappointed. COMPLETELY over priced. There was a lot of Clothing that was stained and overpriced for being stained. Bathrooms were ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Found a couple things in the home good section. Been to way better. read more
