I came here to get some pickling spices. I have never made pickles before, so I was a super virgin newbie on a quest. I found that the Savory Spice Shop only had one pickle spice, so I bought it. It was a blend of spices only, there was nothing else there to help you make pickles. I just added the spice packet to my vinegar mixture and a couple days later had pickles. They were pretty good. I did enjoy the walls and racks of spices throughout the shop. I may keep them in mind if I need something special in the near future. read more

I think I may make it a mission to visit all the Savory Spice Shop locations. They are so enjoyable and unique to each area I have fun in each one. I enjoy the location on Platte Street quite often since it's closer to my office. This location is closer to my apartment. Total bonus, I have one close to work and close to home. How lucky am I? I knew I was looking for some red pepper flakes and I found those right away. Also perused some other offerings and I picked up some Parmesan pesto powder as well to hopefully use on pasta. The ladies were very helpful and chatty which I enjoy. With the proximity of these stores I may have my own private store in my apartment before long. read more

I adore being able to try a recipe, and buying an unknown herb/spice, but don't have to commit to a big jar I'll never finish I love that for all the variety of basics, I have a choice of different varieties which can be smelled and tasted. I love that the staff is always friendly and helpful. I love that buying super high quality is less expensive that grocery store items! read more

there are a few other spice shop chains around and i guess they all probably sell pretty much the same stuff but Savory has some pretty interesting spice blends and they had out some baked goods to sample that were made using their spices. Everything we have bought from Savory has been good stuff. This time we bought some ghost pepper salt! read more

when they opened this location, i almost cried. so much easier than the trek downtown! don't be scared, there are A LOT of options here. it's a little overwhelming first time in. you'll get excited and spend way too much money on your first trip, BUT you will come back again and again. the next trips will be a little more reasonable and you'll find you start buying things you'll use, not just things that look fun. this is a much more economical way to buy spices... you can buy what you need, not a prepackaged bottle that the typical grocery sells and that you'll never use. the staff is super friendly and knowledgable. in overhearing a little post-interview chat among employees - they don't hire idiots. they hire people who cook, know how to cook and who even enter cooking contests. my faves: mt. elbert seasoning on popcorn, the jamaican jerk blend on shrimp is out of this world, blackened seasoning on chicken or fish is amazing too. love that they have crazy stuff that's hard to find like 4 different kinds of vanilla beans, lavendar flowers, pomegrante molasses. read more

This shop has everything you need. The process are fair and cheaper then Penzey's. The staff f(98% of the time) are helpful and knowledgeable. I had only one minor issue there where a staff member started helping me and in the middle of filling my request, decided to go help a pretty woman instead. I've never been to a shop before that just specialized in different types of spices. Usually I've gotten my spices from the local supermarket. Never again! I really enjoyed myself today as I browsed their selection. I love to cook and I love to experiment with different spices. This store had spices that I have never even heard of. The women that worked there were very helpful and ready to answer any questions that I or anybody else had. I brought their hickory smoked sea salt (can't wait to use it on bbq ribs), roasted granulated garlic as well as some other spices. I look forward to my next visit there. :) read more

Absolutely, hands-down, the best. You can't go wrong - be it a pure, fresh item, or one of their tantalizing blends (of which I'm a personal fan.) The staff is outstanding - you can browse and taste and feel comfortable without getting hovered over, or engage one of them for some personal shopping attention. I make special trips to pick up items, and bypass the (yes, often cheaper!) spice aisle at my local grocery to support a Colorado company that absolutely excels at what they do. read more

Ohhh Yea! This is the place to go to get any spice you need. I have ordered from them online, but was in town for business so I stopped by. It was like being a kid in a candy store. The choices are fantastic, and the staff are amazing. They were not only very friendly, but also knowledgable about the products. Nice spice shop with very helpful staff. Ate the espresso spice blend (the only spice I've bought so far) on venison loin the other night and it was great! My husband has also gotten curing salt for making his own bacon from the savory spice shop. I love Savory and I love supporting a local business. The jerk seasoning, cajun blackening and red rocks is always stocked in my house.

Since we are 100% gluten free and they guarantee their spice are gluten free this is the only place we buy spices. I love the fact that you can buy just the amount you need. If you uncertain what to use certain spices for they have lots of suggestions and recipes. You always leave with some spices or mixtures you weren't shopping for but it works out for the best. There always dedicated Savory shoppers willing to mark suggestions. read more

Littleton: can smell the spices outside the store, knowledgeable, friendly staff. my favorite spice store! by comparison, visited P***y's, a block away. no fragrance at all: must be prepared and shipped in from elsewhere. cute place, well displayed stuff. boy behind the counter didn't even look up although there were several people in the store. he was too busy texting. there is no comparison in this experience! go Savory! This is a delightful place. I began shopping here two years ago. The lime chili powder, cuban spices and cinnamon all enhanced my dishes. Then for Christmas 2016 my husband gave me an assortment of 30 bottles. The shallot salt and Highlands cheese sprinkle are my favorites. The fleur de sal and black salt are potent and very good. Each day is an adventure, going through the bottles and reading the suggestions of how to use them. read more

This place is great! It's close to my house and usually pretty quiet which is nice. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the spices. I haven't bought my spices at the grocery store for years and prefer this place and Penzey's. This place has a leg up on Penzey's for the way in which you can purchase the spices. You can basically have them package any spices in any amount - I prefer the bags since it's less waste and easier for storage. read more

This place ROCKS! The people who work in this establishment are knowledgable about spices and herbs and cooking with them. I have gotten suggestions to use Mexican Chocolate in chili and Urfa peppers in a Turkish potato salad. Both suggestions were absolutely fabulous. Thanks so much. I can't put into words how much I LOVE this place. I used to go to the one downtown, but I love this one. Some people have department stores as their favorite stores - this one is mine!! I am literally like a kid in a candy shop, only it's a spice shop. It's fun to try new spice blends, and they always steer you in the right direction if you have any questions. The best part is you can buy as much as you need and it's great for just sampling new tastes. Even people I've brought here who don't even cook, let alone know about spices love this place! You just can't help yourself. You should absolutely check it out!! read more

My apologies for not writing this sooner but several weeks back, I was in this store, searching aimlessly for something that I could spruce up my dinner. I'm always looking for ways to spruce up my dinners and this is the perfect place to find them. Anyway, a woman came in and started asking one of the employees questions. I always like to eavesdrop to see if anything they have could be what I'm looking for. The woman had been frantic about a dinner party she already had planned for the evening and was so rustled that she forgot her wallet in the car. Having everything already picked out and ready to buy, she quickly left to get her purse and the employee, Jessica I think (she had red hair), that had been helping her immediately grabbed the several things she was going to buy, went outside to meet her, handed it too her and embraced her in a long hug. They stood outside for a short time, wiping tears from their eyes. After walking to the front and after Jessica had come back I asked if everything was okay and if that was someone she knew. She told me she had never met her before but that her husband had just told her that he wanted a divorce. She told the lady that she would take care of the cost for whatever she needed and let her know that her offer stood for the future. What an honour it is to know that there are those people out there with such a compassionate and generous heart and how great it is to know that they work at such a great little store. I'm not sure of who the owners are, but I personally would be very proud. I'm very greatful for everything this store has to offer and will continue to find myself in there searching aimlessly for something to spruce up my dinner. Thank you. read more
