I regularly order from this restaurant and have been satisfied thus far, until this last delivery. First of all, I realized they significantly raised the prices. I always order the Pad Woo Sen which was raised $3 to $4. It also always came with a side of rice, until now. $18 for beef Pad Woo Sen and NO RICE, is NOT worth it. The food here is amazing. Must try the pad Thai and the fried rice. Their egg rolls are really good and they have fried fish with a chili sauce that is on point. BYOB is a rare thing in Miami beach! We had the baby octopus appetizer, red curry with chicken and a salmon roll as main course. Service is not great and they dont sell any liquors but the FOOD is simply the best I've had. It only seats abldut 16 people at a time so be prepared to wait for a table sometimes. read more

I think if the business spend some time reviewing the recipes and considering different product in some cases it would be a huge improvement. The food is just really not cooked well. The flavors are off balance on every dish I've ordered, not to mentioned over cooked noodles. There is just always something off. Do not order Tom kha or yum there. They even managed to have a bad miso soup. The staff is always super friendly and the space is quaint and welcoming (albeit rough around the edges), but when the food comes out as if the person cooking it has no formal culinary experience with flavors. I've been about 5 times now for lunch and dinner trying different plates and it's just not good. I think this is a place for people who have never had Thai food, traditional or even decent americized version. I hope the owner starts trying their dishes and getting back to the roots of cooking. Maybe because we were craving another sushi spot that had a huge line and then this did not satisfy that void. I don't know. First hint should have been the smell of roach spray as I walked in. I came because a friend of mines recommended the place to me. Maybe the Thai food is better than the Japanese? They drenched all the sushi rolls that we ordered with sauce to the point that we could not taste the actual roll. The only thing was that the service and the employees were all very attentive and nice. But $60 for lunch and it sucked so I do not think I will ever come here again. read more

Sawaddee is usually my go to move when I'm looking for Thai in my neighborhood. After last night I have removed them from my list. We were seated immediately brought water and wine glasses in case we had brought our on bottle. After that it was about a 25-minute wait just for the waiter to take our order. Fastforward an additional thirty minutes our food still had not made it to the table. After finally managing to catch the waiters attention someone finally tells us there's a mix up in kitchen due to a new cook and our orders will be out shortly. Finally five more minutes later the food comes out both dishes sitting in a pool of soy sauce laden broth. The waiter even agreed that the dishes aren't typically prepared this way and said he would send it back for new food. One minute later the food returns on a new plate but drained of excess salty broth. The food was a terrible disappointment, tough beef, dry pork excessive salt flavour terrible service . No attempt from a manager to rectify the problem after we informed the server several Times of the slow service and disgusting food. Also bringing to his attention we are locals and frequent this restaurant. We left disgusted and turned off, Miami beach needs to realize their locals contribute to their success year round and unfortunately Sawadee has lost a local regular customer. read more

So I'm torn. Some of the stuff we've had from here is great, other is just okay. First the good: Tom Kha Kai is amazing. Curry's are pretty good but small portions considering the price, and the cashew chicken has been pretty good. Not great: the spring rolls have noodles in them. It feels like fillers and there is very little vegetable in there. It just doesn't do it for me but to each his own. Also, the coconut shrimp are just alright. In general, the food is good enough to order in on a night I don't feel like cooking but every time I do I am a bit disappointed in the cost for how much I get. I do think it's worth giving them a try. It seems they have more reasonable lunch options. And I have eaten in house once and I think it was better than ordering delivery. As others have noted its BYOB which is pretty nice if you come prepared you can save a buck. Service has always been polite. Go dine in. If you get delivery maybe try somewhere else. read more

I had dinner here recently and I was mildly disappointed. Everything seem to be a little off even my favorite dish, Jumping Shrimp. I know they seem busy with take out order but that shouldn't affect the quality of their food. There was only 2 other patrons there last night. They had a lot of help. I can easily count 6 people. The food was still pretty good but the flavor was off even the Thai Ice Tea. They were very nice and tried to make up for it. It was just their off day. I'll try it again someday. read more

The first time we ate here, it was late. We were tired, hassled and hungry. The staff and food was just what the doctor ordered. We went back tonight and were thoroughly delighted. My red curry and my husband's basil and pork dish were excellent. My husband asked for some hot sauce and the waiter brought pepper flakes. "No, no," I want something with flavor, not just heat. The waiter came back with a hot sauce he made up. My husband said, "You know, if it had some tamarind and more garlic, it would be perfect." Back comes the waiter with just what my husband ordered. He was a happy camper. This is a really great little hole in the wall. But, don't bring a crowd, as it hold has room for 16 patrons. And, they don't have a liquor license, so BYO beer/wine/whatever. They'll give you setups. You will never regret at least trying this restaurant. read more

i love it! this food is very flavorful. i ordered the pad thai with tofu, red curry chicken and green curry shrimp. i moved here recently from chicago where there is tons of good thai and this is as good or better than anything i found there so that's a ringing endorsement. the pad thai was maybe a bit on the oily side--my only complaint. i ordered carry-out, but saw the interior and liked it. it's tiny and simple but has cool decorations. caveat: fancy places aren't my thing; simple and tasteful is. read more
