I'm not sure if this is a sushi restaurant, a karaoke bar, or burlesque club. I went in at 8PM on a Friday thinking I'd get some sushi and one or the other....there was neither at that time. I did hear on the way out, no karaoke that night. All of the specialty rolls have cream cheese in them, so I suggest that there are better sushi restaurants. Also - don't count on karaoke, which is mentioned several times in many reviews as they didn't have it the night I was there. Overall - this is a great concept but probably a skip. I was thinking the sushi would be great but I don't like cream cheese......and there would be some karaoke occasionally interrupted by burlesque, and got neither. read more

A fun underground restaurant with karaoke. It can be a bit loud, but it make for a good time. We went to celebrate my cousin's birthday and the vibe is fun, down to earth and very chill. The server was attentive and friendly. The food was a bit bland and not really what I'm used to and drinks were a little pricey, but expected in South Beach. 20% Tip is included. Overall, we all sang along with every table at the restaurant and had a great time. The people that go to this restaurant were pleasant, entertaining and friendly. They have an iPad where you select songs you want to sing passes around along with two mics they pass along to the tables. The nigiri was excellent and so were the rolls. I ordered the Dancing Eel (excellent) and the Night to Remember (Amazing!!!). It took a while to figure out what the taste reminded me of and when the server told me what he thought it tasted like, I was amazed at the accuracy!!! It was a Monday evening, a light crowd, and no Karaoke. My only complaint is that my nigiri was not cold as I am used to, it was almost cooler than room temperature. I also had the spicy tuna hand roll was good, taste was there but for $10 dollars and the size was just a bite, I wouldn't buy it again. The host tried to explain the menu but she didn't really know what she was talking about. Our waitress was nice but really only came to take our order and brought our food . We spend a total of 30 minutes there . And yet I read a few reviews saying the service fee was 18% but when I checked our check it was actually 20% . So in total for 1 sushi plate a hand roll and a frozen tempura small plate was supposed to be $56 with service fee and taxes it ended up totally up to $72 . Honestly if they just upped their knowledge and customer service as well as the atmosphere it would've been worth it for the price . But from what it's now I don't believe it's worth it . read more

Stumbled across this basement spot.. was a bit challenging to find as it's connected to a hotel and entrance is on the side, down a set of stairs. It is a small place, with small bar and a few tables. It was not what we were expecting with it being so small and empty, we almost left as soon as walking in. However, we ordered drinks and some items, the drinks were good.. the California roll was surprisingly pretty good as well. We ended up doing some karaoke but you have to wait 20mins between songs which defeats what a karaoke bar should be in my opinion. Upon my server's recommendation I ordered the Night To Remember and Vulcan rolls. They were good, but not great. Two rolls were big enough to fill me up and I'm a big fan of going deep on sushi rolls. My server was friendly, excited to share her recommendations, and good at checking back. They must have been experiencing an ice shortage tonight as she just would not fill my glass with ice despite my asking twice. This place is a very small basement karaoke bar, so it is loud and cramped but fun. I'm 100% sure that the company that was having their gathering there tonight will have several HR violations reported based on some of the songs that were sung! I'm not a karaoke guy but if I were I'd have been bothered by the fact that their two mics didn't work well - one kept cutting out and the other just didn't work. I also noticed that on a couple of the songs the written words on the screen weren't syncing with the music. While they are at it they could fix the table lights. Two were put on my table and neither of them worked. I think this place would score a lot higher for me if I was a drinker/partier type, but I'm not. I made a reservation at Tokyo Speakeasy because it was advertised as more than just a restaurant but a fun experience with karaoke and burlesque. I inquired where this entertainment was and was told there was new management and they are no longer doing the fun things they advertised. The rolls and drinks were ok. But the service was mediocre. Whenever I asked our waiter for something he asked me to wait a few minutes while he did something else including when he brought our dinner out and we couldn't eat it for 5 minutes while we waited for him to bring plates. But the final straw was that the waiter brought us the check and noted the service charge was included but stated this was not the tip. This, of course was a manipulation to get more money. It is a common practice in Miami for restaurants to add a service charge, similar to hotels, as it is a touristy area with international visitors that may not have tipping practices in their countries. We are aware of this as part time residents of Miami and know not to tip when an 18% service charge is already included. Most restaurants acknowledge this and do not expect you to tip additionally. Our waiter was the first person who blatantly lied to us about it. Overall extremely disappointed that I didn't get my fun night out and received so much aggravation. read more

We went here for my daughter's 16th bday dinner. While it's more of a late night place, we had a great time. I'd probably rate 4.5 overall - awesome service and atmosphere (5) and a (4) for food. Sushi was solid+ (I eat a lot of sushi) but the girls enjoyed it, and that's what mattered. It's a relatively small place in the basement, but they set it up nicely. Tucked away on South Beach, this is an underground hidden gem. Very cute for drinks and bites for a date night or ladies night. It is a cute karaoke bar with Japanese influence. The staff were very friendly. The Japanese dragon drink was very impressive and as served in a box with smoke. The drink was a little more on the sweeter side. The sushi rolls were not as big as I am used to and the plantain on top of my Miami roll with Fuji sauce was not my favorite. I did enjoy the Japanese mule it was refreshing and the ginger beer wasn't too overpowering and the sexy roll was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed the mochi for dessert. Great vibe. It's loud with drunk immature people. Music is bad. Food is even worse, dry and very overpriced. Miso soup didn't taste like miso soup at all. Rolls were very cheap tasting. Publix rolls taste way better than whatever I had there. Service is bad. Server didn't bring us chop sticks with our food. 20% automatic gratuity should be illegal especially for this type of place. I had a great time at Tokyo Club this weekend. Karaoke was a must-do activity for my vacation and they delivered. I even got other diners to join in and we all had a grand time. The servers were all excellent - attentive, encouraging, and hospitable. I always felt welcomed and never judged if I might have been slightly off-key once or twice. While I didn't eat, their drinks were pure liquid courage. The reviews about long waits between songs is probably when people don't put enough into the queue. Pro-tip: if people want to sing, then ask to put some songs in! If you get enough of the crowd participating then it can go on for a while! read more

You get very good quality and portions which is so difficult to find in this town with so many tourist traps and stuck up places. We sang our hearts out and had a wonderful time listening to other patrons. We can't wait to come back with friends. We ran into this place on a Monday night and what a treat! We enjoyed the Dragon drinks that were brought to us inside a treasure chest. As you lift the lid, eerie mist seeps from the box to reveal the tasty beverage. The sound system pumped out the tunes of the songs we chose to sing. Hosting an event here was the best decision I've ever made. We rented out the space for 50 people and it was a night we'll never forget. The best staff I have ever worked with and they made the night so special. The food is incredible, amazing cocktails, and karaoke was SO much fun. 10/10 recommend to all. My husband and I found this very cute stylish restaurant. Food is beyond delicious and the staff were very attentive. We are from out of town so this was one of the best sushi places we have been too. Karaoke was a very nice touch as well , everyone was participating and cheering each other on.
