The current tenant was nice enough to reach out and let me know the person they showed it to after us had signed a lease. I notified them that overhead lights at 2 entrances to the building and lights on 3 floors were out. And that there was a leaking radiator valve, and bathtub in need of caulking. They corrected it all. And then wrote that ''...they seem not to be able to meet my needs. Lease expires in 6 months.'' I answered that I thought that I was being a responsible tenant. No answer. Later a canned note stating the perfection of their maintenance; no water damage possible. Re the Security Deposit: they lied multiple times re reasons to return just a pittance: '' Unusual wear and tear on the apartment.'' And more ''creative'' claims. I had received a filthy apartment, and left them a clean one. They thus caused me extra storage expenses while they cleaned and repaired and I paid rent. I am 89, alone, had no TV or cell-phone, and was usually asleep by 6:30, due to fatigue, the result of chemotherapy. I went to Small Claims Court and filed a complaint. The realty responded IMMEDIATELY to the summons re when to appear in court with the full amount that I claimed, including the court cost and their exaggerated letter mailing costs. Apartments come with electric, AC, cable access, and it's right on a main bus route. Distance to Umass is about 3 miles. The units are usually two story and no one lives above you. It i generally a quiet place and is family oriented. The service here is very good but don't bring your pets as they are prohibited by the animal police. Our unit was in the back and on the end. Parking was easy either in the back or front. We lived here for two years before we moved and never had any real problems.

Additionally, the listing was placed incorrectly, so that it was not viewable to anyone looking on the major marketing sites, and it showed up erroneously in a different county more than fifty miles away... for four months. This is an agency that doesn't care about the customer, look elsewhere for someone who knows the market and is willing to put in the work.

He won't even bother to respond! Aside from being dishonest with the Town and tenants, he is unwilling to communicate or negotiate to resolve issues that should be common business sense to anyone reputable. Crossman shows no concern whatsoever for his tenants' satisfaction or respect for their rights, nor does he exhibit any accountability or obligation to them. UMASS should NOT be including any of his properties in their off-campus housing listings given this behavior and history of complaints against him. Do yourself a big favor and avoid the hassle by going elsewhere.
