This is quite the emporium for religious ware. They cater to many faiths, particularly santeria and vodou. There are several aisles with all sorts of interesting things for various rituals and practices: candles shaped like lovers, aerosol spays, various implements like herbs, rusted rail spikes and horseshoes, gourds, cauldrons, incense, elegua heads, amulets, bateas, fetiches, and so on. Along with your statues of Christ and the Madonna, there are also ones for Santa Muerte, different orisha, and Jesus Malverde, the "narco-saint." The folks who work here were quite welcoming.

This is a great place to shop. The workers seem open to any questions you may have. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy.

Over priced for everything they have. Stores like this give my religion a bad look. Pure robbery, won't be coming here anymore.

Their selection of products is great for stationary enthusiasts. I purchased some pens from Penco, which is a flagship brand of High Tide. The store is located at the Row DTLA, which is a recently renovated shopping area. I'm generally not a big fan of downtown, but this place was really nice. It felt safe and there was plenty of parking. Overall I would definitely recommend Hightide for stationary shopping. Pros: -Great section of unique products. -The store has a fun vibe -Plenty of parking. 2 hours free. -Located in a nice shopping area. Cons -some of their products like the pen cases are a bit too expensive in my opinion. -it is a small space so it can get crowded during peak shopping hours.

[What to expect]: A classic Japanese stationery shop with notebooks, specialty pens, planners, bags, etc. They carry brands like Hobonichi and Penco. [Conclusion]: A cute stationery shop for those looking for well-known and high-quality Japanese stationery products, but the shop felt like it was missing an extra personal and local touch.

Come here for super cute unique-like but very good quality clothing and art. Disclaimer: I came here at 11:05 only to be ignored and shut-out while they set the place up. But I came back because I needed a crop top for my new mom friend who mentioned she needed an easier access for breast-feeding and I got her a cool tee (semi-customed shirt) that she loved and I'll be getting a dozen more cause she's obsessed. All wrongs have been right-ed :). Oh and if you need cute clear bags for any sporting events PLEASE get them here :) stay blue (#dodgers), LA!

They offer clothing with beautiful graphics, red envelopes, stickers, mugs, prints, postcards, keychains, and so much more. One of my favorite parts of this store is that they frequently change their theme and release related merch. I never know what theme I'll get to explore when I visit. For instance, their theme right now is "mooncake diner," and they have a whole collection of diner graphics! I vividly remember when they launched their space theme and hung up "planet" lanterns with mini astronauts floating around the store ceiling. In the past, I've come for art galleries here. The store not only has their own adorable merch but also supports local artists, which is incredible. If you're looking for the most unique and thoughtful trinkets or gifts, you need to visit Chunky!

They also had a lot of traditional items/supplies for tea ceremonies, calligraphy, and kimonos. I had fun looking through all the items as it brought me back to our summer in Japan. Apparently they have a long standing history in LA, having opened in 1946 after World War II. The shop occupies the site of the first Japanese-owned business in Los Angeles, circa 1890's. Pretty cool! I have a soft spot for everything animal shaped and soo.... I picked up a fun/odd felt tiger Christmas ornament, a cat pen, and a super cute bronze cat shaped spoon that hangs on the side of your cup. Did I need it? No.... but it's fun and makes me happy. Haha! Overall, great shop to browse around and find some unique gift items. They even wrap up your purchases in paper bags like they do in Japan. I LOVE IT!
