An absolute gem of a botanica! As someone who works closely with these kinds of materials, I can't recommend this place enough. The team here is genuinely friendly and knowledgeable, and they have anything and everything you could possibly need to create and formulate. The space itself has a beautiful, magically charged atmosphere. Their candles, ritual oils, and bath washes are fantastic, and I love their jewelry selection, especially the shell bracelets. Visually, the shop is stunning--they feature lovely statues of Yemaya, and the massive Santa Muerte greeting you at the entrance is simply gorgeous. This Botanica has it all. What u need they have it. My daughter will be going through her santo ceremony soon and flew to LA because I had two people recommend this store. I was in heaven, I didn't want to leave and buy everything. I spent about $2k with them but I got all I needed for my daughters santo. So if u need any Santeria items that's ur place to go. This is quite the emporium for religious ware. They cater to many faiths, particularly santeria and vodou. There are several aisles with all sorts of interesting things for various rituals and practices: candles shaped like lovers, aerosol spays, various implements like herbs, rusted rail spikes and horseshoes, gourds, cauldrons, incense, elegua heads, amulets, bateas, fetiches, and so on. Along with your statues of Christ and the Madonna, there are also ones for Santa Muerte, different orisha, and Jesus Malverde, the "narco-saint." I *LOVE* this place and nominate it as the best source of religious articles for the Ifa tradition, Santeria, and Voodoo, Hoodoo, and other Folk religions and traditions as well! Here one finds the familiar as well as the more obscure and hard-to-obtain herbs and items. Additionally, the employees are helpful, and have provided me excellent referrals twice now when I needed to consult with a Babalawo. If I had to voice a criticism, I would only suggest that it is a shame that there does not seem to be any store of this kind which is open 24 hours a day. But that is just me being selfish. I come to this store for candles when I want to buy more then one. They have a large variety of products. They don't have the apple candles and sometimes the selection of product is low. Prices are a bit reasonable compared to other locations. It would be great if they had a reader or someone to guide you on the best products to buy or suggestions. read more

By far one of the best botanica's in the LA area they always have a supplies in stock. prices are not that great but fair. the supplies that they offer are well worth it. the people are friendly ,helpful and very pleasant people well worth the trip the store is clean and well-lit and organize you will not be treated rude or feel frustrated because they don't have anything not the case here highly recommend this place over all others at this time. I absolutely love this place it has everything I need it is like a Botanica Costcos or something. I just came from there recently and I got all the things that I need and the people are very polite and helpful. I am studying the yoruba orisha religion and im intrigued by this place. Right now they have a new years eve Botanica gift package that I do want to get for myself and for my family I'm not sure how much it cost but I'm definitely interested in getting that so I will be back I will give this place 5 stars because of the nice people and the extensive inventory of various products books oils soaps figures incense fragances bathes jewelry candles herbs.....everything that I personally grew up with in my family being of Belizean and Honduran descent. I am a proud Garifuna (west african yoruba igbo tribes.. carib indian arawak indian hybrid) the Garifuna spirituality is very similar to the Yoruba West African spirituality (ancestral guidance and nature magic) so I'm very drawn to it and I want to learn more and more everyday. My new spot when I need a Botanica! I am impressed, because this Botanica tops Nu Botanics shop! Oh my goodness, they have statues, Orisha clothing, GORGEOUS Orisha Soperas, Bateas, Pilones, herbs, even Garabato sticks for Eleggua! The only thing is, they don't put price tags on most of their items so you have to keep "disturbing" the cashier for prices which can be kind of unnerving if they don't speak English very well, and you need more Spanish lessons. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Saydel Botanica! It is a much needed shop for Spiritual goods in LA! read more

This place is great but the huge downfall is that me that senses energies well...it seems this place only cares about the money. They are not straight up and honest with you when you ask them for prices and they dodge you and tell you spend over 25 and it is all wholesale rate. I would have to talk to the cashier for every item to find out prices. None of their products have prices as well. Some stuff they carry is look-alike and not what I expected from them. read more

This place is really cool! When you first walk in there's a life size statue of Papa Legba sitting on a chair. They have some great statues and other cool things there.
