This young man has zero people skills. Cares nothing about the environment or anyone around the project.. He runs his machines from dawn to dusk with no regards for anyone else in the neighborhood.... He moves the same pile of dirt over and over. Hopefully he is not being paid by the hour. I highly recommend Saylor Landscaping. They have done excellent work on several jobs at our home. Blackberry and tree removal. Gravel driveway and extension. Built a retaining wall, a storage shed and a work shop. Unchanging, reasonable prices with a punctual and cheerful crew. Our land was compromised from water damage, below our property. It affected newly work done. Though it was clearly no ones fault, Jesse honored his warranty and repaired the damage. It doesn't get any better than that. read more

Jesse did a great job helping improve my property and clear out debris! He brought in his his excavators and a tractor and handled blackberries, shrubs tons of saplings and trees! After grading out the new space he planted some native trees from the other side of the property to help restore the space and keep it under control! I highly recommend Jesse from Saylor Landscape for clearing and design! When I bought my house, he was referred to me by a friend in Issaquah! When he came out and walked the property, we decided on stripping and replacing most of the worn out landscaping with new and vibrant colors on different species of plants! Jesse laid a new concrete walkway that shows off the entryway to the house as well! We are looking forward to having Jesse back to install a retaining wall next year! read more

If a contractor tells you they are going to "replace your existing fence" wouldn't you assume they would also be replacing your existing gates? Guess again! Since it wasn't specified in the contract, they were able to sheist me out of two gates. That's like building me a new house but not including doors and windows... The project manager and contractors were friendly and all, but the owner's business practices are just plain shady. They want you to pay 110% for handyman quality work. They charged me for materials that I didn't agree to needing (not to mention their markup is excessive and they don't provide you with a detailed estimate or any proof that they only marked up their products by 15%. I suppose they mark it up 15% from what you and I would pay (retail) at Home Depot so you're better off buying supplies yourself.), they laughed when I told them my foundation on my house was compromised after they jackhammered the front porch off my house (mind you I did not ask them to repair it or pay for said damage as the house is old though hadn't leaked until that point), and they didn't retouch my concrete patio that got torentially downpoured on half hour after it was poured. They weren't prepared for rain on the day of the big pour and though the project manager figured they'd have to do an acid wash to make it look right, you can just tell the owner told him to convince me that the rain hadn't damaged it...well, it did and they don't give a hoot. So now I have a very expensive patio that looks like I did it myself. There are several very rough patches my son will surely scrape his little knees on big time! Further, they left dried chunks of concrete in my lavender, concrete splatter all over my siding (impossible to clean off without chipping the siding) and on my basement windows. There are rusty nails in my planter beds for days (still finding them). There are also holes in my window trim where they boarded up my windows while jackhammering. I asked them to patch the holes and they said they would but didn't. I'm sure the owner just told them to get out of there as fast as they could, even if it meant leaving a mess. They said the job would take a week but they left the site to do another job for a week and a half (and I had to call the owner finally to ask after several days when they were planning to come back and he was nothing but rude to me on the phone and tried to make me feel like it was my fault they didn't finish on time-ha). Why do I get the crap end of the stick when they aren't adept at scheduling projects? I paid promptly, allowed the workers in my home to use the bathroom, allowed them to store tools in my garage and under my porch, provided fruit and water, and the owner, who only came by my place once, treated me like crap. Nice. Also, they WILL NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS. Guess they don't want anything in writing...hmm...red flag much? They are quick to email you and ask for money and signatures on contracts, but if you want anything from them...no dice. Gosh, I could go on...and on but I'm so burned out on being bummed out that I wasted thousands of dollars (way more than I wanted to spend) on these arrogant crooks. I emailed them a much more detailed version of this review with my last payment. Needless to say, I never heard back from them, thus concretizing my review of them. For these prices, look up Western Exposures...at least you'll get what you pay for and the guys are friendly. 3 stars for the contractors and 0 stars for the owner = 1.5 stars, rounded down because the owner was SO rude to me and so unapologetic. My experience with Jesse Saylor and Saylor Landscaping has left me where I cannot in good conscience recommend him to anyone who is looking for landscaping work to be done. I personally choose not to work with him again and the reasons are outlined below. Jesse Saylor was unable to be "responsive" in meeting my (the customer) "needs" despite his website stating he will do this. I did appreciate his ability to work with the conceptual design to fit the look and feel of the inside of the house. His sketches and ideas were good. However, getting from drawings / ideas to the finished product proved to be something he could or would not do. The problems came with the implementation of the design and the finish work. As it was left, corners were cut and the finish was rushed leaving the yard looking like a continuing work-in-progress (i.e. unfinished). This is unacceptable particularly given my large financial investment. Concerns arose at the beginning with his very vague and undetailed contract. At my request he updated it with more detail, however, even the updated contract still was lacking in detail on what he agreed he would complete. The greatest detail in the contract was on the payment schedule with the amounts and due dates laid out with great specificity. I also read the prior 1-star review of his work on Yelp which expressed he had overcharged, demonstrated a lack of communication, and his work was messy / incomplete. Unfortunately, I took it in good faith and on a referral that Jesse Saylor would complete the job to fit what I was looking for. In the end I found his actions outlined in the prior Yelp review were repeated with a similar disappointing outcome. The unfinished parts can be seen throughout the yard including the very thin layer of cover that is already washing away with the original untilled layer of dirt / soil being exposed. Partially due to the ground not being tilled, almost all of the roots and weeds were not removed. Regarding plants, Jesse amended the design with plant placement making some areas look great while other areas were left barren and empty. In the end it looked like a half done job. While these are only some of the bigger issues, there are others I will not go into detail on (corners broken off of new concrete squares poured for walkway, un-cleaned concrete splatter on house, etc.). Given the high contract dollar amount, I expected things to be done professionally and finished like the house was being put on the market and would be ready to show. Every subcontractor that is finishing up work on my house remodel has stated the yard does not look even close to finished and are shocked when they hear how much it cost for what they see. This is only compounded by the fact what they see is Jesse Saylor's finished product, or in Jesse's words: "complete project". Jesse Saylor's response to my email regarding finishing the job was that he had "complete(d) (the) project's contractual scope of work". But yet he was quick to reiterate the payment schedule and amounts due despite his work not meeting our "needs". I contacted Jesse Saylor and Saylor Landscaping one last time by email to see if we could resolve this with a good outcome and end product we could all be proud of. He chose not to respond in any way. This only supported my feeling that he left the work unfinished and that he lacks pride in what he produces. If you choose to work with Jesse Saylor and Saylor Landscaping, you do so at your own risk. I wish you the best of luck but wouldn't expect the best outcome. read more

Saylor Landscaping recently completed a very extensive job at my home which included a great deal of work and planning, Jesse was very helpful and included me in all aspects of the construction process, I had a very large stamped concrete patio and walkway poured which turned out amazing!!!!! Due to a shortage of concrete workers this last summer, Jesse went above and beyond to get a crew to complete my job. I had a very large tree removed and now have a very beautiful front yard with beautiful green grass, he brought in a great deal of material to make all the grades and slopes look great, including a large gravel parking area on the side of my home. Jesse and his crews not only did a great job, but Jesse also educated me so that I can properly maintain and care for my investment, I was very pleased with his desire to make sure I was happy with my finished product. I would recommend Saylor Landscaping to anyone and feel confident in knowing that he would do everything possible to make sure they are happy. read more

Jesse Saylor is a horrible business person. He is selling wet firewood and claiming it to be seasoned. I paid $800+ for 4 cords of firewood that was supposed to be ready to burn and most certainly was not. When confronted about the wood he became combative and unreasonable. I would not recommend doing any business with someone with such a lack of self control and ethics. read more
