Two years ago, I decided to tear down my little 1953 home in the Cathedral City cove, and build a brand new home. I needed a place to live during construction. So when I found 37112 Palo Verde St, it could not have been a more perfect, despite some management problems. But what made this apartment a joy for me , was Saywitz employee Racheal Cravitz! Honestly, had it not been for Racheal acting outside of her actual job duties, I would not have gotten most of the maintenance requests taken care of. I wouldn't have been able to speak to someone who actually really cares and shows you that she cares in her actions. Racheal goes out of her way to try to make it as easy as possible, even in the way she allows and takes payment for each month, and not one time have I ever seen her lose her patience or her cool even when I would call frustrated. Again, many of the problems I would bring to Racheal were not part of her job duty or job description. Racheal never used that as an excuse to not help the residents. She would always listen and then say "James I will speak to the right people and you'll hear back from me soon with a solution." She kept her word and because of her, I even renewed my lease when my home was taking a little longer to be completed . Had it not been for Racheal, I would have not signed that second lease and would've just got a hotel or something until my home was done. It is my hope that the management and ownership of Saywitz reads this and realizes what a valuable asset. Racheal is to the company. Why not five stars? For the amount of money I was paying for a 500 square-foot studio, (it was called a one bedroom, but it was a studio with a dividing wall.) there should've been some upgrades to the kitchen appliances., and the bathroom desperately needed reconfiguration. My apartment had a tiny, small sink, smaller than what most Motel 6 properties have. As a son of a developer and as someone whose parents own many rental properties, my dad understood that if you're willing to invest just a little bit of money to put some lipstick on a property where it counts the most like the bathroom or the kitchen and the lighting, it goes a long way and making residents feel like they have something a little bit special and helps justify the cost of the rent. The only other reason I didn't give this property five stars is also because of the intrusive manner in which property management would come into your apartment with very little WARNING. I have a dog and I work 14 hours in the healthcare industry. Taping a letter to my door the night before they want to enter my apartment was just not an option for people who have a small dog that could run out when the door is open. However, I still give 37112 Palo Verde in Cathedral City 4 stars because overall, Saywitz provided a private gated, living environment, they took extra care to keep the landscaping up and even the lawn green in this crazy desert heat and that was impressive. Also, and this is very important, I have never lived in a small apartment like this where the walls were so sound proof! I could have my TV up loud as could be, and neither neighbor could hear my television. That's very rare when you live in an apartment. But mainly it was Racheal Cravitz who allowed me to stay. I remember when my blinds one by one broke and fell to the ground and I had to cover my windows with blankets because I couldn't get anyone to respond and replace my blinds. Racheal finally called, and again this was not part of her job responsibilities, and she connected me with one of their maintenance men, Jerry, who finally came out and fixed all my needs. Which by the way they need more people like Jerry working on their properties! You ask any tenant at this property and they will go on and on about how wonderful Jerry is. He is respectful smart, he knows what he is doing and he actually gets the job done unlike previous maintenance people that they have sent in the apartment before. This property in Cathedral city has so much promise. And it does offer an affordable option for people who want to live in the prime part of the valley, but don't have the money to rent in this area of town. Also, I appreciate that they make the rental process fairly easy and they don't charge crazy fees to move in. They are also pet friendly and don't charge ridiculous extra deposits for pets. The pet deposit is reasonable. Would I recommend this apartment? Absolutely. For the right person, this property could be a good fit for a lot of people. Especially the one and two bedrooms. I been a tenant with Saywitz Properties for 10 years now. I couldnt be more comfortable in my apartment complex. The area is nice the apartments are clean and the people here are calm and what i would call "chill". I never stayed this long somewhere but aside from the apartments being nice and big the staff at Saywitz Properties are very helpful. When lease agreements are up they do a great job in communicating with you. Just today i talked to Diana Liston helped me come to a new lease agreement and ready to go for 1 more year. Maintenance needs are met and apartments are well maintained. When ever ive needed to talk to someone either about maintenance or anything lease bill related they have always been available and provide great tenant service. As a current tenant I want to say a few things that need to be said. Since moving in 2021 I have nothing but pleasant things to say about Barry Saywitz and staff (Erika & Diana). Every single time I had to speak to anyone In the office about anything I was always treated kindly and always made me feel like they cared. If anything were to come up or any small issues they were handled and taken care of in a timely manner and with professionalism. I love my home. The grounds are always clean and it's peaceful. We have a great lil community in our complex and it feels great knowing our home is safe with great neighbors around us who are family oriented aswell. Barry Saywitz Properties is always willing to help when help is needed. He has compassion and understanding for his tenants. No type of pool, roof, window, or painting maintenance was done while we lived there, it was done after we left therefore that is incorrect. Our roof outside the front door to our unit was literally FALLING apart/ pieces on the ground every day and maintenance did nothing. I'm assuming that it was too expensive to upgrade lol. The trash was always overflowing, pest issues, the flooring to the patio was SOFT like you would fall through, among so much more! Does the discrimination for parking have an excuse to it too? I will add photos if necessary. Also, management makes people sign the lease MONTHS in advance which made us basically stuck there until we weren't! We got our full deposit back and like I said the 10 years was horrible-we had no option but to stay due to our circumstances lol. Recently, my wife and I had a baby and we had outgrew our one bedroom apartment Diana and her Team helped us to make a smooth transition to a two bedroom in the same community we were familiar with. We were able to stay in the same side of town and got all the amenities plus more with the work of Diana and Erica. It was a easy transition. This jackal tried to extort money for pet deposit I had already paid. I got a threatening letter 9 months into a lease agreement demanding money or I'll be in lease forfeiture. I emailed them back that I had paid a deposit before they bought the place. This saywitz guy jacked up our tent tremendously when they bought our place. This saywitz jerk disgusted me so much I went and bought a house just so I wouldn't have to deal with people like these creeps. Beware saywitz is buying everything in palm desert and putting gaudy embarrassing signs on them trying to find people to take advantage of. I previously posted a bad review but took it down because I feared I would have to sign another lease with them. I don't have that fear now so I hope somebody will hear my warning. Watch out for saywitz they are a real estate investment group they don't view you as people. read more

The property like any other has its positives and negatives however there are separate departments who manage separate things here. Diana L and Jayson are really great - especially Diana. They really try to help you and work with you on any issues or questions you may have. They were very understanding - one time I had to pay late because I was on vacation and forgot to mail in my check, but when I explained the situation, they said no problem and didn't charge me a late fee. They are also very considerate. I had an elderly dog that was blind and they made sure to work with me on scheduling maintenance people during times I could be there. I also know that for one of my neighbors who stopped paying rent, Diana went to the property to check on them. She also didn't start eviction proceedings because she knew that would ruin their credit. Any other property management company would have evicted them immediately! Although Saywitz is a company, they handle business like a family. I would still be there but I finally bought a house. read more

We have been a tenant of Saywitz Properties for 3 years and we love our home and our neighbors. The property is well kept, and they continue to make upgrades to the landscaping and the common areas of the property. We recently renewed our lease. The process was very simple and included just a one-page amendment to our lease. We had a couple of minor maintenance items that needed to be addressed and the maintenance team was out here right away to take care of those. I wish yelp allowed 0 stars for the customer service here. Don't get me wrong the properties and location are great. As for the communication or response from Diana is horrible, go ahead and ask the current tenants who live at the property, they can tell you first hand. The only negative thing about this place is the communication and promises they made to fix things and upgrade never happend. The driveway is still a mess and they assured me when I signed my lease it would be fixed, the drains arnt cleaned so you can't get to your cars when it rains. They have no form of organization for maintenance tickets so when you try and get ahold of them for a ticket they have no idea. The owner Barry completely stopped answering emails so when you try and get someone above the person your talking to it's impossible, also there messaging and answering machine still go to Humberto which has not been employed there for 2 years.... they do not treat there tenants as if they are the first priority so if you are moving somewhere we're you need and want communication this is NOT the place for you. I'm shocked at all the reviews below saying they are communicative because in my experience and my old neighbors this is not how it was for us.
