We had a few minor problems upon moving in, submitted our service request, and got a same day appointment with maintenance to take care everything. So far so good! I really wanted to leave a positive review, but after living here for over a year, it's extremely disappointing how slow the maintenance has become. Simple fixes now take a week or two, which wasn't the case when we first moved in. Other than that, I really don't have any complaints. Don't buy into the idea that this is an Irvine Company community and it will be nice 1. THE BUILDINGS ARE ROACH INFESTED. No matter how many times pest control comes out, the roaches keep coming back. Disgusting! 2. It is LOUD outside at all hours of the day and night here. It's a combination of loud adults and screaming kids at ALL TIMES. No one is considerate of others. 3. You can't get a hold of anyone who works here because they're offsite. If you're lucky you'll get ahold of someone once you make your way through a phone tree. And on top of everything else, they keep increasing the rent!!!! Poor community design that poses risks to pets: The community has very poor landscape design and insect control measures. Wasps and quarter-sized beetles are everywhere. Apartments closer to trees are insect infested. If you have cats who like to play on the patio every now and then, then they could be attacked by the bugs. 2. Roach infested: We found roaches in the kitchen the bathroom the second day we moved in. Pest control didn't work cause the entire building is infested. They came back the next week. 3. "New" apartments with multiple broken parts: Within 10 days of moving in we already had to have the apartment fixed multiple times because of broken screen door, defect microwave oven, broken oven seal, malfunctioning dryer, broken oven light, plus pest control. 4. No on-site office: Be prepared to walk 30 minutes to the office because there is no office on site. Calls can be tricky too. You'd need to try multiple times before the line goes through. Plus, the community can get loud at night even during the quiet hours. You can smell weed although it's supposed to be a smoking free community. read more

My unit was flooded and they locked me out without consent so they can do repair. I understand the safety but I should have been allowed to get my things beforehand. They have been extremely dishonest that my unit was done as to get me in quickly. I had a professional to take a look and he said there was still high moisture and I've told them areas but they ignored me until I got a 2nd opinion. Now they have gone back to repair it after proof. Everything was stuffed in boxes or on the countertop even toilet cleaner and dust pan put on kitchen countertop. Things very dusty from construction and they say they are not responsible. Additionally, broke my stuff, ruined personal items and scratched or damaged furniture. Carpet absorbed all that dust as they say it was cleaned. Please be very cautious of moisture issues. Do NOT recommend moving here. This place has an issue with cockroaches. It's an absolute disgrace to be told that our apt had been fumigated shortly before moving in. Only 3 months later when waking up in the middle of the night for a glass of water did I open the refrigerator door to a handful of roaches scattering around the kitchen floor and counter. After spending at least $50 of my hard earned money on over the counter roach sprays and "traps" my roommate and I finally reached out and complained to the leasing office. We were told that we would need to have our kitchen/living room fumigated. So here we go emptying out our whole kitchen and going through this process to only find ourselves with the same issue a month later. At this point, we are just riding out the remainder of the lease but can't wait to get out of this disgusting place. Wasn't surprised to see that when our neighbors next door and across the hall moved out, they had a "roach infestation" paper on their front doors. I lived in Oak Glen apartments for around two and a half years. The management was good initially and it has become worse in recent months. Especially for the last 9 months. I'm giving poor rating for below reasons. 1. Construction/Renovation throughout the year: Yes. One or the other construction/renovation works is always there for months and months. Initially, management says only 6 to 8 weeks. Later they extend it for 4 more weeks. If you go and ask them they say due to weather construction got affected. The pain thing here is they don't clean the patios and corridors when the work is underway. It is tenants they should clean the dust themselves. If you reach the leasing office, they will ask you to reach a construction manager who is the third party and always not reachable. 2. Record Manipulation: Yes. you heard correct. In my case, I did renew the lease online and complete all the formalities at one rate. After two months, one day morning I got a call from leasing office and they told my lease renewal did not go through and I had to vacate the unit. When I asked them the next steps, they said I need to renew the lease on that rate they mentioned or I had to vacate my place with lease breakage charges. For two months there was no message from the leasing office. When I sat with the manager to see what went wrong, i come to know it was an ex-employee who messed up my account and I become responsible for paying more rent. The next case was, they were giving a discount $250 when the construction work was in progress. One day i noticed $45 charges( with no- description) in my account. When I called the leasing office, it is charged they put in my account as the construction finished 4 days early. There was no message here as well. 3. Cleaning Charges: You are responsible for all the charges whatever they say.Yes. you heard correct again. They will send you the pictures of it and believe it or not, some of them are not even yours. 4.Leasing office staff: Leasing staff is "not tenant-friendly" except Lani Hamilton who always puts best efforts to help and assist whenever there is an issue. Lastly, the maintenance staff is amazing and tenant-friendly. It is NO place to live. read more

Hope you like leaf blowers. People who work from home should beware: there is power tool work going on in the community virtually every weekday. Irvine Company apparently retains a full-time gardening staff with gas-powered leaf blowers and hedge trimmers, and boy do they use them. This is not only terrible for the environment but, at 100-120 decibels of sustained noise, it harms quality of life. That said, I don't think you can escape this in other IAC complexes; I've lived in enough of them to suspect that this is a company-wide standard. I wish they'd give it a rest, let the leaves fall where they may, and give residents their peace and quiet back. read more

Everyone in the office and on the maintenance staff are very friendly and always have a smile on their face. They are always so polite and ready to help with any questions we have regarding our lease, maintenance requests, etc. A special shoutout to Connie and Faye for always being so understanding and amazing at their jobs. I owned a mirror in which they hung incorrectly and crookedly which caused the mirror to fall off the frame. I let the manager know which mirror was similar to mine, and she had the audacity to correct me and tell me they know which mirror it was after seeing it ONE TIME. The situation is on-going and the manager has the audacity to correct me on what items I own and be rude about it. Then she offered to either buy the mirror or credit the amount of it. However, she took back the offer and just decided to give credit when I specifically asked her to buy the mirror. What kind of service does the complex provide? They say they are here to support and be there for your issues, especially the ones that THEY HAD CAUSE. However, nothing was done and I have been getting rude and negative service. read more

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!!! Short story: If I start ranting it won't end. Avoid living here if you can. Long story: On going construction which I was led to believe the tenants would receive concessions for the duration of, only to find out that it's only for a very specific portion of the construction; the rest of the "not construction", painting, installing stairs etc, I was basically told to suck it up. We're talking jackhammers all day and construction workers screaming over them. And when it was done on my building, it started all over again on the buildings in-front and beside me. Cockroaches in balcony and garage. Cross fingers they don't come inside till my torture/lease ends, but others on here say they're in their kitchens. The worst of it all though is the complete and total apathy of some of the leasing office staff. Very unhelpful. It takes two, maybe three requests to get a response, that is if I'm lucky and they feel like it. I get the feeling sometimes they just don't feel like it. The pictures below are the entrance to my home and the balcony, where you can obviously see all the "not construction" going on. Paint fumes, blocked home entrance, and not being able to use the laundry in balcony are all part of the "not construction". I've lived here for 2 years and the experience was terrific! Honestly, would have rather stay living there longer. However, I couldn't due to my work situation and if they rent didn't increase the rent like 20% each renewal. Basically, you get what you pay for and more at Oak Glen. It is a very family friendly complex, where the neighborhood children run around. The amenities are great, you have access to 2 big pools, the business center where you can use the computers and make prints; however, you must bring your own paper to print (recent new policy). Lastly, the complex is always kept clean and up to date. Our apartment was a 2 bedroom apartment, which comes with a one car garage and in-unit washer and dryer. Honestly, peer luxury! As for the service maintenance team, they were AMAZING! They are professionals and also the turn around time is quick, like a 24-48 hour turn around. As for the leasing people in the office. They are very friendly and professional, also always willing to help their tenants. As for the location of the apartment, it's literally maybe a quarter of a mile to the 405 freeway. There are walking/bike trails close by and the neighborhood is safe. However, you will occasionally see a coyote or 2 from time to time. If you are wondering if they allow pets? Yes, they do! However, you will need to pay a deposit and pay pet rent. I don't recommend large animals staying at the apartment. I don't know, how this neighborhood women got away with it with 2 large dogs, I don't even think her dogs appreciate being stuck in a small apartment for long. Anyways, if you pay your rent on time and don't be a butthead to your neighbors or have butthead neighbors, you should be fine. 5 Stars! I absolutely recommend to anyone to come and live there, great for working professionals, families, and students who do not like to party (that is if you can afford it and qualify to live there). After reading some of the reviews regarding roaches, I can attest to that as I live at Oak Glen and it's honestly a constant struggle. Roaches seem to linger and crawl all over the kitchen when the apartment is dark and they scatter as soon as the lights are turned on. I've had my apartment fumigated twice already and it has had essentially no effect on this issue. Can't believe the premium Irvine Company puts on their leasing rates for a living situation like this. And then they still have the nerve to significantly increase the rent year over year. The community staff and maintenance is extremely inconsistent. Good: / Friendly, prompt, organized, approachable, and reliable staffs willing to help you out whether it is face-to-face or through a phone call. When you receive a package, they'll contact you either through a phone call or through text message if it was dropped at the parcel lock on the day it arrived. Bad: / There are some lazy-ass and or people with bitchy attitude that'll give a crappy job handling the issues and with the maintenance group. For example, we had an issue with the noise coming from the AC fans and the lady literally said, "So?" I literally stated first that "we have an issue with the AC fans..." and I was very disappointed receiving such a shitty customer service. The staff asked me if I'd like a phone call before the maintenance comes, I said yes, but did not receive the call at all. / Some staffs won't contact that your package has arrived until at least a week later. When your package is not in your mailbox or in your parcel lock, you have to actually call the office by yourself if they have it. / Hence, face-to-face request or questions are a lot better than making a phone call. / Parking is terrible. It's the rule that we all get one spot outside + garage (= 2 cars only) and it seems as though people own 3+ cars or use the garage for storage purpose only, hence I have to park at the opposite end and walk for 5 minutes after 10pm shift. read more

My wife and I lived here for 2 years and absolutely loved it. The only reason why we moved out was because we bought a home nearby. I was skeptical at first because I heard Irvine Company is difficult to deal with but Oak Glen was definitely an exception to that rumor. Julie from the leasing office was ALWAYS so helpful and would periodically check in on us to make sure we were happy with our apartment. She goes above and beyond with customer service. Pros- Best parking situation in Irvine by far. In the two years of living there, we never had issues with parking for ourselves or our guests. Safe and friendly. Residents are always out and about walking around even late at night which is a testament to the safety of the neighborhood. I can only speak for building 700 (where we lived) but it was very quiet. We were on the 3rd floor so that might have been a factor but no loud music or loud noises. Packages DON'T get stolen. This was a problem at an apartment complex I lived in previously but not at Oak Glen. We even had some packages delivered to another neighbor and they came over to let us know. Security deposit was fair when moving out. When moving out we heard irvine company has no mercy with giving back any money from the security deposit but we found it to be very fair with Oak Glen. We got majority of it back and the move out process was very easy. Cons - I wouldn't really call it a con but I must say when trash day came along, the dumpsters tend to overflow. There was never a time we couldn't throw our trash away. If you see this Oak Glen, thanks for all the community events and great customer service! read more

Worst Apartment in the whole of Irvine. Full of Nuisance noise. been living here since March, there is third construction going on in my building. 3 months of building construction + 1 month for coloring building and Hallway remaking + Just now got 8-week notice for roof maintenance. If you think hell doesn't exist, just live in one of 3rd-floor apartments while they are doing roofing maintenance. In the last 9 months, i put 17 maintenance requests for at least 25 things(only walls are good standing without any issue) to be fixed. Just stay away for this apartment complex. And see their arrogant reply, they ask my wife and 6 month old kid to check in at 8 am and get the keys from leasing office and return key before lease office close. That's what they called alternative arrangements. Shameless management, dont even have courtesy to speak truth. read more
