I went to this place few month ago to celebrate one of my friend's birthday. Staff are really nice and amazing. The place itself is very hidden and it an area that is secluded, it was at night when I went and I thought I was lost but i was not. Their prices are on the higher end. With this racing place, the ranking is not based on the overall time but its based on the best lap which determines the winner, so avoid pressing break often because that way you will be losing. Another thing that I would mention is their $6 fee for the ID which I think its useless but each new person that goes there must pay the fee an will have an ID of this racing place. Its a yearly membership but if you only go once, its useless. read more

If I can give zero stars for this place, I would! My family and I have had the worst experience. The staff lacks accountability in making sure every rider is aware of the safety precautions. Why does it take two races and almost my kart to flip, for this staff to bring awareness to the other drivers? I raised safety concerns on the first race, after drivers had bumped numerous of times both my daughter and my and I. Zero awareness, they did not say a word to these drivers, and knowing I was already upset. I allowed it to slide, figuring that these driver would at least consider, my daughter is a slow driver. But, noo they bumped us again, and after me raising this again, the staff tried to defend the other drivers by saying "we are on race track", are you kidding me? Yes, we are on a racetrack, but did the staff addressed my concern in the first place? Why does it take another incident for me to get my point across. I asked for management, and zero management on site, what kind of business is this? Then I get a card to speak with the owner, but the number on the card takes me to the racetrack number....this place is soo awful!! Mark, It's unfortunate your Yelp business description states that safety is you top priority, that you devote extra time with you junior racers to ensure that everyone on the track understand how to operate their vehicles and are comfortable, unfortunately you hire staff that clearly do not care of your priority! We paid for three races, and unfortunately we only accomplished two. Please refund my money for not accomplishing the third race, due to your staff's negligence. I came here recently and every single race was terrible. I was not able to go full speed until the last 2 laps of each race, and I continued to get bumped by people. I don't know why the workers slow certain everyone down when it's a few people bumping, and when these carts aren't even as fast as the electric ones, and I don't understand why the staff isn't helpful. The only person helpful is the man with short black hair. Everyone else SUCKS. Highly recommend NOT coming here, unless they change their management. Very unsatisfied NOT EVEN A REFUND? Sad service. I love Go Karting. But SB Speedway needs to upgrade their customer service. Seems like whoever owned the place was getting free rides and had people there that were jumping in our race. Then crashing my family and I. Seemed like retaliation since we didn't like the service. But we still smashed in the course ! The staff there is phenomenal. They are very attentive. Everytime I go the experience is great. The staff is always willing to give you tips & pointers on how to get a faster lap time. Most importantly, the karts are always maintained & everything goes smooth & safe. read more

My family and I walked and the lady was super nice. She walked us through everything and we were in our way to racing. The boy on the track was great. He made sure everything went smooth which it did. My boys and I had a blast! Will definitely be back on our next trip! read more

FYI this is what the attendant was doing while my nine-year-old daughter was racing on the track (please see photo of dude sitting on the track, on his phone while go carts are racing by in the background). Mind you she has never driven a go cart in her life. My son was also on the track he's 11 years old. I will never come back to this place again as I feel it is very unsafe for my children to be there. I do not recommend this place for anybody. Also, the noxious fumes were overwhelming. read more

I am very disappointed by the service I received during my last visit to SB raceway. It it the worst experience I have ever had a a go-kart track. I drove up from San Diego to go go-karting with some friends that live in the area. During one of our races I accidentally bumped into a gentleman with dreadlocks. For the remainder of the race he proceeded to ram his kart into mine and others at full speed at every opportunity, at one point even pinning my kart against a wall and yelling obscenities at me. The employees did nothing to stop this for what turned out to be a double length race. (which was also not communicated.) After the race this same person who had caused trouble for the entire race was waiting in the pits for me to come in. He processed to continue yelling at me and when I got out of my car came up to me wearing no mask and was right in my face telling me to take off my helmet so that he could fight me. I did not take him up on his offer. Staff claimed there was nothing they could do to either refund the races or remove the offender from the property as he was a "paying customer". What I later learned is that this person is question is not a customer, but an EMPLOYEE at the establishment. if you look through their reviews you will see that they are referenced negatively in those as well. I was temped to call the police that night after this employees assault on me, the only reason I did not was because I had to drive home to be at work early the next day. It boggles my mind that this man can be employed here while acting in such a way. You may be temped to go here based on the lower prices, but you are better off going anywhere else. read more

I really like going here. Unfortunately I won't be coming back again. My son and I both race here not consistently but we've came enough that we are both driving the vip carts and have fun doin it. Now the problem is the last 3 time we went I had to purchase more race credits even though I was 95% sure I still had credits left from the previous trip. I buy the 5 pack of races and we generally only use 2. Sometimes three. However when I come the next time I'm told we either don't have any or only have 1. I just left there right now. We were told we only had 1 race on our account even though I'm positive last time I again bought us both 5 races and we used 2 of them. I was told that 10/17 which is a Monday we used 2 races and that I didn't buy any races that day. Last time we went was on Sunday 10/02 I know this because I made reservations that day to go skydiving while at Sunday brunch. I payed cash that day for our races. So that tells me the person working the register pocketed my money for the 2 vip 5 race packs I bought and then 2 of our races were given away to one of these employees friends on 10/17. We have been ripped off for at least 7 races each. Possibly 9. If you come often pay with a card and keep track of any unused races. These kids working there are scamming unused races off of peoples accounts and pocketing your cash. read more

For someone who's karting for the first time this place isn't a bad start. For a seasoned racer there were a few mentionable complaints. First, their race schedule was behind by 2 races; the races before us were dealing with plenty of issues such as karts shutting down in the middle of the track multiple times, forcing everyone else to stop. When my group was racing, we all noticed how the top speed of our karts was severely limited. It absolutely killed the fun and thrill of go karting! There were also a few racers who would purposely bump into me and they wouldn't receive any consequences; in fact nobody got flagged for anything which enabled that unsportsmanlike behavior. It was very disappointing for myself but I'm glad my friends made the most of it. For the serious racers, I recommend coming here when they first open because you have the whole track to yourself and the staff more likely won't limit the speed of your kart. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but I felt like it was necessary to take the time and create a yelp account and review this place, From the beginning the entire place look closed from the outside. Having driven from far away to spend time with oversea friends only to think the place was closed. Inside you'll be lucky to get greeted by an receptionist who seems to rather spend her time attending her own funeral. When it came time to race was the lack of attention from the people supervising. I'm not sure what I expected when I saw how they set up the karts` ramming the karts into each other and complete disregard or respect for their own equipment. What bothers me the most about this experience was how they didn't notice racers that had no clue how to drive. People continued to drive all most full speed into the corners constantly spinning out and bumping other people. No one noticed when I was t-boned by another driver going into a turn. He was going full speed when he hit me. I had to end my race early due to pain. No of the employees noticed, it was other drivers in the side line asking If I was okay. If I had to leave positive feedback I'd say the prices, bit I guess you get what you pay for. Next time I'll go to K1 Speed. read more

Ghetto staff, no social distancing, no masks worn by staff. Staff is very rude to paying customers. They yell and curse you out for accidentally running into another racer. Don't come to this place they rip you off. You pay $80 for 5 races but end up doing only 3 they shut the lights off where it's pitch black and before you leave the establishment making it dangerous for you to exit the building then they tell you to get the fuck out it's closing time. The employees race with the customers making it more of a dangerous driving situation more cars on track makes it more dangerous and they purposly hit you on the track. To the owner no it was not because of the cosmic nights the staff actually shut the lights off as we were still inside the track area complete darkness read more

This place is not fair at all when it comes to going as a party or group. My friends decided to invite a few more people to pay for 2 races and simply have some fun. After a 2 hour wait in the arcade we finally went in and because these friends of friends started bumping into each other they gave us all warnings at first, then when the 2 people didn't listen they proceed to kick everyone off threatening to call the cops, even to the 7 other people they knew did nothing wrong. I calmly tried to talk to the manager why are we specifically getting kicked and threatened for something they did. She was basically saying the "We're all in the same boat" bs. I didn't even know their names, they were invited by others to come and WE got punished for their doings. AND refused to give refunds to all of us as well. To me this was so much money spent for only a few minutes of racing. I don't know if it's because the majority of us were Palestinian so they were scared of us or something, but they did seem pretty aggressive towards all of us for no actual reason. read more

My kids come here all the time and I have been here a few times myself.. I am a fan of the facility and the staff that work in the race course area.. Two times in a row now when I have arrived the lady that helps with the check in isn't very friendly.. Today I checked in on yelp and showed her the check in discount and she looked at it and said ok.. Then I marked it as used.. A minute later she asked to see it and it was already marked and didn't show up.. Then proceeded to doubt the check in and refused to go any farther until they verified it.. Then said it didn't go through.. Then said they don't have the password to check that they have to contact owner as he has it.. We are sitting there waiting (No A/C) as she didn't believe I did it and told me she has to push the used button that I am not allowed too.. She didn't say that before when I showed it to her.. She said ok... She could have easily said hold on a minute or something other than ok if that was the case.. I was made to feel as it I lied about the check in offer.. The was I was treated was unprofessional.. There was another staff telling her to just go ahead and accept it and get us started and she refused.. So I handed them a $5 paper coupon they gave me last time for how I was treated and told them use that and let's get my kids racing.. As we sat there for 10 minutes or so (only ones there).. Then once inside the racing area the guy handed me back my paper coupon and apologized for how I was treated.. We were there at 10am but told even though they are open we can't race till 1115 as they had a private event.. I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses, but if this is a normal occurrence then I will drive further to have my kids race.. read more

This was my first time go lay racing a couple weeks back. I was lucky to find a Groupon for my visit with my date. It all seemed really chill and clean at first and the lady who checked us in was kind. My main problem was the blond guy who was running the races that day. I'm not sure if we caught him at a bad time or what but he gave my date attitude because someone else bumped into her and got stuck so he had to pull her kart out. And then for the second race, gave her the kart some guy who was driving extremely aggressively (I'm assuming he also works there because he helped put the karts together afterwards) and the seatbelt was so tight and uncomfortable it left a large red bump on her neck. Also luckily she's been go kart racing before because the kart was all janky after that guy used it. It was still fun but some of the staff are questionable. I wish they would have given a few laps for beginners to get a feel for it first, would've made the difference too read more

Ruined experience, so there's this kid named Zachary which is friends with one of the workers and let me just say it's ridiculous how this place is ran, first off this worker who wears glasses and was in charge of the karting area was on FaceTime with his girlfriend the whole entire time, and then this kid named Zachary who was absolutely driving horrible, was bumping into my whole family and myself, it's ridiculous how the management just lets this kid run every race and bump into everyone, it's literally so dangerous for everyone , anyways idk if this kid Zachary thinks he's an f1 driver but he's not , it's a go karting place for everyone and it's putting everyone at risk of getting hurt, I literally got bruised because of this kid yesterday. This was around 8:30 pm yesterday 1/1/24 , Management really has to do something about their employees letting their friends drive, not only does the business lose money over that but ruins the experience for everyone. We had a blast on the track when my son and I went for his birthday just the 2 of us. Unfortunately the team members at the front didn't make it clear how they charge. When I asked how much it'd be they told me a price knowing it was our first time there. When I went to pay, that price went WAY up. Not complaining about the cost, just would like to be fully informed for what I am paying for before being charged a different amount. Also I lost an item on the track, it was found by the team member on the track and he told me he had taken it to the front desk. When I went to get it a couple hours later it had magically disappeared. Suspicious if you ask me. But as far as the actual race experience goes, this place rocks! Cars are so fast!!! During my freshman year of college about four years ago I spent so much time at the go kart track during the early mornings or late in the evenings while there was no one there so I could run fast lap times, and at the time the employees started to know me and we used to have conversations and I would look forward to my weekly trip to SB Raceway. It was inexpensive, I enjoyed the staff, just a wonderful experience. However, ever since then I've seen a decline in the establishment and the recent amount of poor reviews compared to reviews from a few years ago. I started having problems with some employees, not the usual ones I knew, but other ones. One time I had a faulty kart and just politely asked for another since I knew it was sub-par, which I understand happens, the employee said he wouldn't change me into a different kart unless I tipped him $10. What? Why would I do that? Then later on I would try to go at night to comic karting during the weekdays only to get told that they had a reservation that night, which at the time I had never heard of it and specifically said only reservations on the weekends. That happened a few weeks in a row. What was going on here? I haven't been to SB Raceway in maybe two years now, and maybe things are a lot better. I go in the evening and take a few of my friends I used to go karting with. The prices have shot up higher then I remember, twenty dollars per race not including their new head sock fee and increased annual license fee. I couldn't even believe the prices when you had their vip license either, which I used to have. For two races, K1 Speed in Ontario is cheaper than SB Raceway and that never used to be the case. I love gas karts but K1 Speed's facility is way nicer. I am going to get a response about how their new karts that are imported are better than ever, though they look and feel the same exact ones me; I can't justify it being worth it that much more to me. I don't understand why such the hike on these prices when it was so balanced before, it was cheap thrilling fun. I enjoyed SB Raceway so much in the past, and now I'm so frustrated that one of my favorite pastimes has lowered in quality and become so expensive. Disappointed. Employee Chris was extremely rude to my friend and I. The gate to the kart track was open and my friend thought that meant he was welcome to come onto the track. Instead of politely asking my friend to step back behind the gate, Chris said "Did I tell you you could come out?" I was so surprised I stood in the opening of the gate as my friend walked out and Chris shut the gate into my shins. He literally HIT MY LEGS WITH THE GATE. I couldn't believe it. I said "Oh excuse me. You can just ask me to move." All I got from Chris was an "Mhmm, yup", no eye contact, and then he walked away laughing. It's a shame to see this place go downhill like this. Today was the first and last time I will ever come here!!! I was racing and some other player hits me so hard my seat belt literally broke and I almost flew out my car!!! I had to pull over switch cars mid race while the other players went on racing. The other car they put me in was defective as well did not go as fast as the other cars therefore people kept hitting me. The same girl who hit my car and broke my seat belt hit my car several times and got zero warnings. read more

Came here on a Sunday lady didn't explain or the menu did not explain that they are separate per person 1race-17 2race-36 3race-45 Ect I thought if I buy 2 it's good for 2 people but nope it's your personal races which is stupid Spent 45 on 2 people for one race lol stupid. Waited for the kids to go no problem one kid spun out so bad he smacked the wall... kept my eye on that go cart and sure enough they assign you the carts and yup I got the one that went into the wall. i sat in it and could tell right away this thing is messed up. Raced 2 laps and sure enough wheel falls off great! Race is still going while I'm stuck in the wall. Kids told me to go to the race line to get another cart. Ok? I raced another maybe 2 laps and my time was up. NO REFUND, NO FREE RACE. NOT EVEN IM SORRY. Thanks for wasting my money should have just gave it to someone homeless instead I at least should be upgraded to a faster cart. Kids that worked in the race pit where cool the lady up front just wants your money quick to take your credit card. No discounts, helmets are smelly. You pay for your face mask they MAKE you buy. #1 Place smells like weed, #2 workers seemed stoned, and #3 the workers are so rude. The manager made my 8 year old kid cry. He had an accident and the manager yelled at him and kicked him off and he was not allowed to go back in. He's 8 years old! What kind of person makes a child cry??? He lost control of his car and crashed, but again he is a child. I did not see this happening but when other adults that did come up to you and tell you "that guy is an a******* it took everything in me not to go over there and punch him for yelling at a kid like that" and you see your child crying so much he can't even talk then you know it's bad. On 4/30/21 I took my kids go-kartings as I did the Previous week only three go-kart were available There was four employees two young girls and two young men not willing to do their job but willing to discriminated my youngest son claiming he did not meet the age or the height rules to drive after I paid for his membership SB raceway clearly states on the website must be 8 years of age and 48 inches tall which he is. I showed them their website rules and they simply told me they did not care about those rules and will not refund my money back. Rules are meant to be followed by all customers not just buy some .I will not recommend this place read more
