I thought the word "Rooter" in their name indicated some sort of franchise operation but I was mistaken. This is a local outfit and the owner actually answers the phone. (Another place I called connected me to what sounded like an AI generated robot). She assured me I would be in good hands with Dave, who arrived well within the hour. I had a clogged toilet so I called Rooter-Man because my regular plumber was out of town. It was 8:45am and I was told that Dave would arrive between 9-10am. Wow, really? And he was. I discovered there was no P Trap installed under my master bathroom shower (the previous owner/builder did some weird stuff). I called a previous plumber I used, but he was unavailable and recommended Rooter-Man. They came the next day and quickly installed a P Trap under the shower. While under the house, they checked to make sure the rest of the plumbing looked good and had the required P Traps which it did. They were very responsive, informative and helpful. It was expensive, but not more so than any plumber might be. I would use Rooter-Man again. read more

Had Rooterman come out and install underneath plumbing and faucet. I asked the serviceman why is there a kink in my dishwasher discharge hose for the air gap and he told me that will open up after time and it's ok. He installed that hose. The faucet ended up leaking and so I called them back and they put silicone on it and it leaked again. I told them I don't want you to put silicone on again because it didn't work. I thought it might be from the new hole that was drilled in my granite countertop for the faucet so I didn't have them reinstall the faucet. I wanted to talk to the countertop guy before they reinstalled it again. They told me if we come back we're going to charge you again to reinstall the faucet. They didn't care that I had a problem that I didn't know why, all they wanted to do was charge me again. Now they haven't responded to my request for them to reinstall the faucet at no cost so they are not honoring the warranty for the install of the faucet which is an unresolved issue but what about the underneath cabinet plumbing are they not going to warranty that? I guess not because they can't even call me back and work it out. I am a return customer and they could really give a crap about their customers or their plumbing problems. If I had to do it again I would go with Ray's Rescue Plumbing because he was able to fix the problem by putting the escutcheon plate on which should have been done the second time Rooterman came and fixing the kinked hose. He did a fantastic job and fixed my problem! I won't be doing business with Rooterman again! read more

SAME DAY SERVICE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. Recently, I had a blockage caused by roots in my septic distribution box. Too dense for me to clear and make the repair. I considered renting an electric eel rooter. But these machines are about $100 for a day rental, and given my drain placement, it needed 2 people to operate it into the pipe. Also, I watched YouTube videos about people getting these cables stuck in a pipe or (worse) mangling their fingers when the cable twists. So I decided to hire professionals. I never used Rooterman services before but I called them at 9 AM on a Friday and they had two trucks at my house by 11 AM (very good.) The workers knew what they were doing and had a large, powerful eel machine. They were upfront with a fixed price for clearing two lines (+$300 pretty reasonable quick service.) They spent about ninety minutes working and removing dense mud and packed roots from the lines and got the water flowing again, making a successful repair. Very nice cooperative workers. We needed a drain snaked as a preventative message with the heavy Northern California rains being forecasted. While another plumber said "not to worry" and they would address if it becomes an emergency...we did not want to wait for that! We really are fortunate to find Rooter Man with the help of Yelp. From Laura in the office to David who did the plumbing, we experienced promptness, great communication and excellent service. Yes, I'm leaving a review for a plumber...and it's well deserved. To start, I very RARELY need to hire tradesmen to do work in my home. That said, after five days of trying to unblock my shower drain I threw in the towel. The person who came was prompt, efficient and had a great sense of humor. There was no possible way I could have solved the issue and rest assured, it's one for the record books. The "blockage" was removed and everything was cleaned and sanitized! I am a Realtor in Sonoma County and frequently call Rooter-Man for sewer lateral inspections and other services. However on November 4, 2022 I called for a very special reason...in the early morning hours we discovered that two of our kitties were trapped in 6" pipe in a storm drain. We could hear the mournful cries coming from somewhere in over 100' of drainage lines. Pending weather called for rain and they surely would not make it. I remembered that Tony at Rooter-Man had a special camera to find cracks in sewer lines and reached out to him at 6:00 AM via text. He immediately responded and had his son, Michael Morales arrive first thing in the morning. This type of service is rarely experienced but Michael and his crew took it to the next level. After Michael identified where one of the kitties was stuck, we had our landscapers start digging up over 5' of dirt where the pipes were buried. Michael said it would take too long digging up by hand and offered to bring up an excavator to expedite the process. He also had a second camera with a longer reach. The evacuator was onsite in less than an hour and they sent the second camera down the storm drain. We were about to dig up thousands of dollars of landscaping, site work, and drainage infrastructure to find the kitties. But with the skilled work of the Rooter-Man crew, they located the stuck kitty 85' into the pipes and encouraged her to leave using the camera, but the kitty could not turn around. So they gently pushed and motivated her to back out and it worked! The kitty was saved! Then they did a second search of all the remaining drainage lines for the second kitty. You see, we lost our home in the Tubbs Fire, rebuilt in 2019, and connected drainage lines to the old system. We were worried the other kitty might be hiding somewhere in the old system. The Rooter-Man crew made sure we were confident that that no other cat was hiding in the system before they left. And late that night, the second kitty came back home!! Although I recommended Rooter-Man before this incident, I wanted to share our unusual experience and the excellent service we received from this outstanding family owned business! read more

Jayson's knowledge and demeanor was as professional/casual as they get. After an initial exploration, he speculated as to the overall problem, gave me a few options with prices to consider, and patiently went about the work while I crunched the numbers. After informing him that we'd be taking the more immediate option and schedule the larger answer in 2023, they both took to repairing and cleaning out our line. This is a perfect example as to why I don't fill out surveys right away as this company requested both times immediately after service. I've come to realize that not everyone follows through with what they say they're going to do or what you pay them. First of all, I had my pipes backing up, which was kind of critical so the person I had my neighbor contact was busy and referred these guys. I got an appointment supposedly with Dave, I asked for but was called back five minutes later to say he was busy and his son Patrick would come. I needed it done ASAP and didn't ask really what the price would be until he got here and he said it's "by the job not by the hou. The really good plumbers I know are $165 an hour. One couldn't make it and the other one I know is always busy and with my pipes backing up I had to go with them because they could be there in an hour. They were here for an hour and a half and that included, talking about sinks and backups and pets WITH my "senior discount" I paid $440 which equals $300 an hour! Before I got my head around that, I thought why they were here I might have them try to repair my running toilets. I didn't know if it was one toilet or both because they back up to the same wall and it's hard to tell and they were probably both about the same age. I had called the toilet company and they had sent me two silicone discs when I said the toilets were running. The next day, the same son Patrick came back, both times with someone else and unexpected and it only took a half an hour. With my "senior discount" it was $286 which equals out to $285 an hour! Hello and behold, my toilets are running and again I don't know if it's one or both but enough that I could hear it from laying in my bed. I assumed that they would come back and fix it or do something to make it right . I contacted them again to say my toilets were still running I didn't get a callback till after the checks cleared and then was told that they were in an area with no cell coverage and that I should contact the toilet manufacture to see what I should do next. END OF STORY!! I wish I could've put a stop payment on the check, but it was too late for that. No offer on anything to fix it, with the crazy amount of money I paid over those two days. Nothing about figuring out, nothing about fixing them, nothing to help me at all whatsoever and they didn't even fix the problem. Absolutely nothing is being done for me. I can only assume they don't know how to fix a toilet and my only recourse is to tell you how bad my experience was. I would RUN unless there's no one else to turn to an emergency! read more

Toilets were backing up and showers were gurgling. I called Rooter Man first thing in the morning and Michael was out that afternoon at the time I was available. Michael was professional, kind, and fast to determine the problem. After flushing the pipes, he came back out the next day and did the bulk of the work, replacing the old clay pipes (possibly the originals from this 1870's home) for cast iron and installed a two way clean out. I wasn't present when he completed the work, and when I got home I checked the area I knew he was working and it took me a minute to determine where he had actually worked because he left it in great condition. I missed his first call, and later he called again to explain the work he completed and any potential future concerns, he answered my questions, and he was friendly and patient. We've been putting cat litter (World's Best) "flushable" down our low-flow toilet, which eventually clogged it. Then while using an auger, the metal tip broke off somewhere down the pipe. At 3 AM today (Sunday) we were awoken by the sound of loud banging coming from our irrigation pipes. I called Rooter-Man at 9 and they gave me a same day appointment at 11. I can't say enough nice things about Michael Morales. He arrived on time, was kind, considerate and knowledgeable. He checked my water meter and didn't detect an indoor water leak. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to help me with my irrigation system, however he suggested that I contact the City to discuss the water hammer issue caused by the recent water meter change. I have been utilizing Rooter Man service for years, as a multiple luxury vacation rental owner, people like to flush random things. With that all being said I've given thousands of $ of business to this company only to be extremely rudely responded to when I questioned the recent work, as the plumber did not fix the problem and charged a hefty fee. With my question, he responds to use someone else, instead of addressing that his plumber had no clue what he was doing and left a septic pump issue overflow into the yard and nearly backup into the house for multiple days. The next person I had come take a look at why the alarm was going off knew exactly what to look for, took videos and assessed the problem efficiently and RESPECTFULLY. So basically if you have a unfixed job and a $400 bill and have any rebuttals to this company, they'll tell you to take a hike. read more

Fantastic service. I called them to take a second look at a clothes washer sewer drain that kept backing up and overflowing. I had already had a plumber out to snake the line and that didn't fix it. I found the business here on yelp and I gave them a call. They were out to my home in a few hours. And the technician said he could fix it with a service called hydro jet. Half way into this, the machine broke. But he said it was probably fixed, but that the service is usually twice as long. He asked that I run the washer on a short load cycle to be sure it's fixed and he stayed to make sure. And it was fixed. The fact that the machine broke and he was honest and said they usually spend twice that time on this job didn't sit right with me. So I messaged they back to ask if they could complete the service to the normal time standard. They came back out and performed the service again and I am happy with it now. Rooter-Man's slogan is "to the rescue" and it certainly turned out to be the case for us. When we discovered a Friday morning clog that affected all three bathrooms, we called our "regular" home services company. After 40 minutes on hold listening to bad music and ads about their friendly customer service, they told us that they could send someone out to deal with the back-up the following Wednesday ... five days later. If you need trustworthy plumbing service, look no further. I experienced one of the best home services I have ever had being a homeowner for over 30 years. It starts off like this: my drains backed up on New Year's Eve. January 2nd in the morning, I got a plumber recommend from a woman I work with and called Rooter-Man thinking I wouldn't have functional plumbing until, hopefully, the next day. The great service started with the woman on the phone who was so pleasant, listened to my issue, told me that they would be able to handle it AND that they could probably have a service person at my house within an hour. What a great start. (Quick mention: I spoke with this woman a second time during the day and she was just as polite, understanding and professional as the first conversation.) A Rooter-Man (Nicholas) did arrive within the hour, giving me a call before arriving (nice touch), and after we discussed the problem, he summarily did a thorough walk-through before getting started on the clean out of the pipes. Well, as house issues go with it rarely being an easy fix, the clean out showed a ton of root build up within my 1950s house pipes. For Rooter-Man, it was all hands on deck. Additional helpers came (including Tony the owner) to help clear out the entire system all the way to the street. Now pay attention here, ladies, as we women may sometimes feel suspicious of possibly getting taken for a ride...this team was genuine (not salesy), knowledgeable (descriptive in laymen's terms yet clearly knew their stuff), disclosing (roadblocks confirmed with visuals), communicative (texting me at work with progress and timing), thoughtful (avoiding mess) and for all the work they did (including crawling all the way under the house), extremely reasonably priced.
