This meadery is very unique in that the name and decor are inspired by a book series. They have a great supplier and use that honey to make some very good mead, some also very sweet. The guy working was great, friendly and loved answering our questions about the meadery, the process etc... If you haven't had mead before, great place to try it. If it's been awhile, great place to give mead a 2nd chance.

Awesome little cozy meadery with kind staff. Some really unique flavors. Definitely check it out if you're nearby.

Once we walked in we were greeted by three very friendly people. Small tasting area but full of so much fun. They have board games and LOTS of decor to look at. We were in search of something nontraditional and stumbled upon this awesome little place. The Oatbreak Paladin and Dark Maiden were delicious.

As a non beer drinker, Im always on the hunt for places to try any other type of drink. I had tried mead at a few meaderies, but none were even remotely close to home. I stumbled upon Scale and Feathers meadery when it popped up on my gps. When you arrive you might think you are not at the right place as they are located in a sort of industrial area. When you walk in, you find yourself in a small, cozy, Game of Thrones vibe, small salon. They have multiple flavors of mead and also bottles to go. We had a flight, so we could sample those who sounded interesting and then order a pour of our favorite. But be careful! Mead, although sweet, packs a punch! Everyone who works there are so nice and knowledgeable of their products!

Super cool meadery. The mead is delicious and they have lots of variety. Lots of games, books, cool stuff to buy.

Amazing time @scaleandfeathermead !!! Highly recommend this establishment for a Mead brew & fermentation tour, for a flight or two of Mead to taste, or simply to gather with friends!! The owners are here and give the tour as well as pour drinks at the bar. They are extremely passionate about their business and the art of Mead Making. They are introducing new flavors that are invented and tested in-house weekly! Food is not served here currently and you can bring in outside food to enjoy with your mead. Our son turned 21 and we called up and spoke to the owner who rearranged his schedule to give us a tour next day. Outstanding! He had so many Mead factoids I thought my head would explode. I love historical facts about how we arrive at a certain etymology in our culture. I know how "Honeymoon" came to be now, as well as many other honey wine histories. Come hear some honey wine stories while tasting the Nectar of the Gods. We discovered we loved the sweeter Meads but the drys were also delicious and sophisticated in flavor. We all want to return for a Blueberry Lemon Slushie next week! Yes, it will be epic can you imagine a fruity mead Slushie on a hot summer day? Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday night celebration for my son's 21st!!!!! ‍ This Meadery is fantasy-themed, which is very cool in itself, and adds to the Meadery tavern experience. This includes all of our favorites (D&D, LOTR, PB, Doctor Who, HP, GOT, Magic, Monty Python, etc....).

If you love Mead, or even want to give it a try, this is the place to go. Located in a warehouse district, the place is small scale with a medieval vibe. Bring your own food is encouraged, although snacks are sold there. Amber is very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the perfect mead to enjoy. Or try the flight for a variety. I know we will be back!

I LOVE this place. The feel of the whole establishment is geeky and cozy. There are fantasy decorations everywhere, a stack of games to pick through and play, and absolutely delicious meads to enjoy. It's run by the nicest folks ever, too. This is a great place to hang out for a while, or just visit for a few to get some of their new bottled meads to take home.

I am not a mead expert but if I was I would give this place a try. I was fortunate to visit this hole in the wall on its first day of business and I will say that I was not disappointed. The mead is amazing and I sampled their current pour list. The venue is cute, staff is awesome and has enough seating for larger parties to sample from their list of assorted meads. My favorite is the double honey at an abv11%. So be careful! I will be visiting frequently.

She was so kind, super attentive, and made a point to make eye contact and engage with everyone at the table. It was my dad's birthday, and they brought out a birthday treat for him, which was such a nice, thoughtful touch. However, the check-in process was very uncomfortable. The host who greeted us didn't make eye contact with me at all, a person with a disability. Instead of speaking to me directly, he asked the person I was with if I needed a child's menu. As an adult, being talked about rather than talked to was rude and honestly pretty embarrassing. It would have been much more professional to provide standard menus for everyone or just ask me directly if I needed anything specific. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious: The bread and butter were warm and a great start. We had the bruschetta and a shrimp appetizer, both were hits. Our table ordered the cheeseburger and fries, the salmon, and two orders of the short ribs. Everyone loved their meal and had zero complaints about the food quality. The restaurant was packed and had a high-energy vibe, but the music was way too loud, it made it a bit hard to talk. The lighting was also a bit strange; it was very dark, and at several points, the lights would flicker or completely turn off and on again, which was a bit distracting. If you want to go on a Sunday evening like we did (6:00 PM), definitely plan ahead! We made our reservation a couple of days before, but by the time our day arrived, they were completely booked. I'd recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance to be safe. I would definitely come back for the food and the excellent waitstaff service, but I really hope management works with their hosting team on how to treat every guest with basic respect and direct communication.

Wanting to try another of their restaurants before the ungodly heat arrived, we decided to stop in for lunch. Parking: can be a bit nerve wracking, especially parking in the dirt lots east of the place. You have to walk across 32nd St & if you know Phoenix drivers, this can be dangerous. There is a pedestrian light now, though, so that helps -- but oddly enough, there's no "walk" signage. It's merely a blinking yellow light for north- sound-bound traffic so you have to pray to the universe drivers are paying attention & actually stop for you. Ordering: a bit odd. The main door we went in was more the middle door that didn't really take you to the beginning. There's a drink station then the food station. We skedaddled to the right of the main doors for the drink order, only to discover there's another door that people walk through to place orders. So we joggled w/ another customer trying to figure out who was there first. It honestly felt like a school cafeteria, a bit chaotic, as well as cramped. The patio was pretty large & well shaded, but it was also full -- and this particular day also the ONLY SHADE. We were left to sit at one of their many tables on the grounds with no shade. Food: not worth the $77 we paid. I get it's a working farm, & though we try to support local as much as possible, the food we ordered was not good enough that we will stop by again. The strawberry fields salad was a typical salad, no wow factor there. The Italian sammy was dry. There was a minuscule amount of some kind of dressing on it, but def not enough. Dessert: red velvet whoopie pie was so overpriced it's not funny. If it tasted great, I wouldn't complain...it did not taste great. The pecan pie was abysmal; not enough filling and very bland. Two "specialty" drinks, a salad, a sandwich, & two small desserts, for $77? No, sorry, not again.
