This meadery is very unique in that the name and decor are inspired by a book series. They have a great supplier and use that honey to make some very good mead, some also very sweet. The guy working was great, friendly and loved answering our questions about the meadery, the process etc... If you haven't had mead before, great place to try it. If it's been awhile, great place to give mead a 2nd chance.

Once we walked in we were greeted by three very friendly people. Small tasting area but full of so much fun. They have board games and LOTS of decor to look at. We were in search of something nontraditional and stumbled upon this awesome little place. The Oatbreak Paladin and Dark Maiden were delicious.

As a non beer drinker, Im always on the hunt for places to try any other type of drink. I had tried mead at a few meaderies, but none were even remotely close to home. I stumbled upon Scale and Feathers meadery when it popped up on my gps. When you arrive you might think you are not at the right place as they are located in a sort of industrial area. When you walk in, you find yourself in a small, cozy, Game of Thrones vibe, small salon. They have multiple flavors of mead and also bottles to go. We had a flight, so we could sample those who sounded interesting and then order a pour of our favorite. But be careful! Mead, although sweet, packs a punch! Everyone who works there are so nice and knowledgeable of their products!

Amazing time @scaleandfeathermead !!! Highly recommend this establishment for a Mead brew & fermentation tour, for a flight or two of Mead to taste, or simply to gather with friends!! The owners are here and give the tour as well as pour drinks at the bar. They are extremely passionate about their business and the art of Mead Making. They are introducing new flavors that are invented and tested in-house weekly! Food is not served here currently and you can bring in outside food to enjoy with your mead. Our son turned 21 and we called up and spoke to the owner who rearranged his schedule to give us a tour next day. Outstanding! He had so many Mead factoids I thought my head would explode. I love historical facts about how we arrive at a certain etymology in our culture. I know how "Honeymoon" came to be now, as well as many other honey wine histories. Come hear some honey wine stories while tasting the Nectar of the Gods. We discovered we loved the sweeter Meads but the drys were also delicious and sophisticated in flavor. We all want to return for a Blueberry Lemon Slushie next week! Yes, it will be epic can you imagine a fruity mead Slushie on a hot summer day? Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday night celebration for my son's 21st!!!!! ‍ This Meadery is fantasy-themed, which is very cool in itself, and adds to the Meadery tavern experience. This includes all of our favorites (D&D, LOTR, PB, Doctor Who, HP, GOT, Magic, Monty Python, etc....).

Super cool meadery. The mead is delicious and they have lots of variety. Lots of games, books, cool stuff to buy.

Super cool meadery. Lots of varieties to try and the 4 oz sample size is fantastic. Cranberry meadmosa was delicious

If you love Mead, or even want to give it a try, this is the place to go. Located in a warehouse district, the place is small scale with a medieval vibe. Bring your own food is encouraged, although snacks are sold there. Amber is very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the perfect mead to enjoy. Or try the flight for a variety. I know we will be back!

Hilarious sign out front on an October weekend.

I LOVE this place. The feel of the whole establishment is geeky and cozy. There are fantasy decorations everywhere, a stack of games to pick through and play, and absolutely delicious meads to enjoy. It's run by the nicest folks ever, too. This is a great place to hang out for a while, or just visit for a few to get some of their new bottled meads to take home.

I am not a mead expert but if I was I would give this place a try. I was fortunate to visit this hole in the wall on its first day of business and I will say that I was not disappointed. The mead is amazing and I sampled their current pour list. The venue is cute, staff is awesome and has enough seating for larger parties to sample from their list of assorted meads. My favorite is the double honey at an abv11%. So be careful! I will be visiting frequently.

Is there anything to eat there?

Outside food is welcome and many guests bring their own or have something delivered, but there is no kitchen on site.

Do they have private rooms to rent out for a block of time?

Hey Matthew, We don't have private rooms in our tasting room, however, you can call in advanced to reserve a table if you have a large group coming to visit.…

Nice wine selections, delicious bites, and friendly/helpful staff. They offer several wine tasting flights (3-2 oz. pours for $19), as well as by the glass or bottle. There are also several non-alcoholic options, as I was unable to imbibe on this visit. WINE & FOOD: My wife tried three different tasting flights, the Diamond (white wines), the Ruby (red wines), and the Amber (dessert wines). My mother-in-law had a glass of the Moscato D'Asti from Piedmonte, Italy ($13), and I had a non-alcoholic Copenhagen Sparkling Tea ($14) and a Diet Coke ($4). We also tried their Spinach & Artichoke Dip ($15) and the Italian Meatballs ($19) and finished it off with the Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake ($13). Everything was delicious and all selections were perfect for the wine flights we paired them with. Bottle prices were reasonable, and we left with all three of the dessert wines, and a bottle of the Arneis. NOTE: I heard that the Turquoise Wine Bar Glendale has recently been awarded Wine Spectator's 2026 "Award of Excellence". Whether you live in the Phoenix area or are visiting from out of town, I highly recommend that you check this place out.

Parking can be a challenge, especially during peak hours. If the main lot is full, you can usually find additional parking in the nearby Costco lot and walk over. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made for a great experience. The wine tasting area is much smaller than the Avondale location, which has a much larger and more spacious setup. During our visit, we learned about the bonus bottle program and received helpful wine recommendations and tasting tips, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. If you're looking for a quieter visit, I recommend going during the week when it's less crowded. My only suggestions would be to expand the wine tasting area and improve the parking situation. Otherwise, it's a great place to enjoy a tasting and learn more about wine!

The place always seems to be packed and we had to wait for 40 minutes to get seated around 5:30. It was a special occasion for us (our 33 Anniversary) so I guess I was expecting favorable treatment. Shame on me. It will not happen again. We waited even though there are a ton of other options nearby. When we did get seated our wait staff was very attentive and hospitable. The food and drink of course, was great but I still had a bitter taste in my mouth about the check in. I won't be recommending this place to family or friends though.

Unfortunately, during our tour today, we couldn't go to Page Springs or the other wineries in Cornville due to the fire that started midday today but the Cottonwood backup plan worked out great! The first stop, Alcantera in Camp Verde was a nice gem. I had never heard of them before and it was a good start to the tour. Lunch at Farm Go Go Cafe in Cornville was insanely delicious! Farm fresh ingredients. Everything that's included in the experience is wild: the ride to and from NAZ, the wine tastings AND lunch. She provided snacks and water in the vehicle as well. I 100% recommend people try this out as a fun day trip with friends or even as a romantic day date. I can't wait to see her business grow when she's able to take groups bigger than three/four. I would do this again and try out her brewery tour next time.

I thought this was pretty cool, because it gives you the opportunity to explore the wines there. We got seated, and the service was pretty good. Our drink order was taken pretty quickly, and I think it came out at a reasonable time. However, our waitress felt a little new.. at some point, one of the people in our group ordered a Guinness, and she told us that they didn't carry it, which they did and it was right on the menu. Another time, she didn't know if they could do tequila shots or tequila on the rocks, so she seemed a little inexperienced, but she was very kind and attentive. We put our food order in, and we waited for about 45-50 minutes for all our food to come out. If you come here with a big group, keep in mind that they will warm your food until everyone's is done, and even though we appreciated everyone's food coming out at the same time, there were 2 orders that were still missing after that 50 minute mark. Some of our food was undercooked, despite ordering medium steaks. The tuna was alright. The fries, veggies and mashed potatoes were really good though! Overall, I don't think I will be returning, but I'm glad that I was able to check this place out!
