At the time I thought maybe the college driver had let someone work on it so I paid it. My mistake as I didn't take time to think it thru. I know the folks I bought it from were honest and long time friends. Big A lied. They showed me of a fuzzy gray video t was supposed to be the problem area but of course it meant nothing to me and was just part of the deception. I will never go back to Big A again. When we talked to Elizabeth Garage's front desk, each time they were unaware of what they were actually doing to the truck, concerning when dropping it off! When picking up the truck we were blown away by the price! With the owner gone on lunch break we had no choice but to pay. Then they didn't know where they parked the truck, which we eventually found across the street in a parking lot, unlocked with keys in the vehicle! Perfect situation for a theft!!!!!! Especially with personal belongings in the truck! After calling multiple other car repair shops INCLUDING Toyota, we were told that the part that was put in the truck wasn't even a Toyota part! On top of it, all car repair places were coming in over $100 cheaper! EVEN TOYOTA CAME IN CHEAPER WITH THE CORRECT TOYOTA PART! Walking back in there to talk to the owner, letting him know the price was outrageous and more than originally discussed, was basically told okay is what it is. No offer of reimbursement for the over charge! Telling them they lost multiple customers, they didn't care and said okay. They don't care about customer service or overcharging their customers. I even looked up the part on Amazon with the model number they wrote on the receipt and it is $125 - they charged me $350 for the part! We were told by the owner he marks up his products 75% after the job was completed. They lost not only a family with four vehicles, but we are going to let their current customers know that originally referred them. Even the store owners in town we talked to said they stopped going there because they are overpriced! This clearly isn't the first time... it's such a shame since we like supporting small business! I hope the owners read this review and realize what they are doing in overcharging their customers. I hope they work on their customer service and I truly hope they stop putting their customers cars across the street in an unattended parking lot, unlocked with keys in the car!

They left metal shavings every where that caused rust on the door hinges and caused issues with the windows rolling up and down, they didn't install the front windshield correctly and now there is a whistle, sliced the weather stripping on rear quarter glass and didn't admit to it, the roof molding pieces weren't installed in the right spot, there is a vibration from the sun roof cover, after repair there is a rattle in the rear end (same thing happened after taking my previous car there). After taking my husbands truck for repair after hail damage, they didn't realign the hood correctly. When all these issues and problems were brought to their attention, they refused to correct them and were very dismissive.

Or more specifically, dealing with the loss and replacement of a favorite grocery store, haircut place, or auto service center. I had a great reliable mechanic in Chicago, and after four visits here, I think I've found another good one. Liebold is located conveniently near downtown Galena. In those four visits, I've only spent about $50, which is a major coup with any mechanic. Two of of those were actual service, and two were my hearing noises, bringing the car in for diagnostics where they found nothing. Kudos to them for putting up with my "mechanichondriac" tendencies and of course with mouthing the noises for them when I bring the car in. Living in a small town, you know, word of one's eccentricities tends to get around fast, and I could get a "reputation." On all four visits, I was able to hang out and wait at their shop and peruse the nice variety of outdated magazines, watch and laugh at animal videos on my smart phone, so it was the auto service equivalent of fast food. The fact that on two occasions they didn't charge me a cent (to find nothing was wrong) is a good way to guarantee I will be back to annoy them in the future. Thanks, guys. You're better than Paxil.
