Despite the stay being weeks away and rooms still available, customer service has been extremely unhelpful and nearly impossible to reach directly. Emails bounce back, communication is poor, and there seems to be zero flexibility or effort to assist paying customers after an honest mistake involving a $700+ reservation. We've never seemed to be lucky with hotels in Copenhagen. OK, we may be choosy, but they never live up anywhere near our expectations. We expect the hotel to be designed for the paying customer; sadly, its designed for the Hotel. This one is definitely on the no-repeat list What was most annoying (otherwise I will be here all day): * the room was not so big, but OK, that's how it is * the shutters kept coming down automatically with the sun, so you had to keep pressing the button to send them back up again * you can't really unpack as there is nowhere to put your stuff; but they clearly assume you will only stay one night / have only a small suitcase * no real hanging space, even for jackets or for a dress(es) to be hung, never mind coats. This is not even a business(man)'s hotel - see photo of wardrobe. Evidently, all women must now wear trousers? * as for the shower - see photo - the doors are magnetic - great fun trying to get in and out - I'm not extra-large, but it was not easy, and made more difficult if your partner is using the basin beside it. And there are gaps, so water comes out on the floor (more towels please) * there is no provision in the shower for your own toiletries; people do not necessarily want to use those provided for many reasons; putting them on the floor, then bending down to get them, isn't actually a solution; door in the way * the towels are too small - yes, really; no bath, so no bath towels * of course, they couldn't provide a double duvet (we asked), so you are left fighting the two stupid duvets, as ever * then there was breakfast - there are 100s of seats (excellent)...but they were all full, and since no-one was clearing away (total mess), it was a struggle to find anywhere. When we did, at last, in a galaxy far, far away, I can confirm that the croissants were great * even the bar was not a welcoming experience; and sooo slow * concierge - hmm - you have to pay for storing your luggage; you go downstairs, find some empty lockers (large and small - what if things don't fit?), and you do it all yourself. There were guests from overseas. Having figured it out, we then had to help 2 families who had no idea what to do * we mentioned all the above as we checked out - it was clear that the desk people had no idea what these rooms looked like, or perhaps, simply didn't appreciate why these were even issues * finally, the payment system had hiccups - it could not differentiate between 2 payments made, as there were no references, so the bank queried if there had been a double payment; more queuing and waiting to get that sorted Poor on so many fronts read more

I'm really not sure how to rate this hotel. It may be spectacular based on Copenhagen standards but I will compare it to what I know from the United States. If the IKEA corporation and Mattel's Barbie created a room for her this would be it. Those of you that are used to going into IKEA in the US and see their little sample room designs those are the actual sizes of the rooms here. The room here is really designed for sleeping, going to the restroom, and taking a shower. They are extremely small and no place to hang clothes. Some would call this a modern Decour I would say it was something that was left over from the late 60s. The room was clean. The shower and toilet share one room. The water pressure for the shower was extremely low. Especially for the hot water side. Considering the price of the room which was booked six months in advance $355 US per night I am amazed. In the US this hotel no matter what city you were here even San Diego, San Francisco or downtown LA wouldn't go more than $100. Our room did include breakfast. Coffee is extra. Ordered an 8 ounce cup of coffee at six in the morning and it was $4.70 US or 30DK. That was from a coffee machine. It makes it look like Starbucks is giving away their coffee in the states. The breakfast buffet was very good. It was moved the rating from 3 stars to 4. It had a tremendous amount of meats, breads, coffee machines, fruits, and cheese. The service was also very good. Final review is the room is clean, appears safe, in line with the pricing of other things in the city but compared to the US yikes. The Decour looks just like an IKEA some may call modern. read more

We booked here so that we would be transported by our cruise line on departure day. A "King room " consists of 2 twins, not pushed together. Every day I had to request additional towels, they were very thin and not absorbent, and a bath mat. One day one of the cleaning ladies told me "we don't usually put bath mats in these rooms." Do I care? Could I just have the requested bath mat??? First morning when I got into the shower, there was no cold water. Surely this was not new and housekeeping had never reported it to Maintenance. The men that came to fix the problem were very nice, gave us a temporary fix so we could shower, and returned later in the day for a permanent fix. We returned around 5 to find the tub fixed, but our room had NEVER been cleaned. I had to call housekeeping to request that our room be cleaned. Cleaning took the time it took my husband to address 2 postcards. Straightened the sheets, replaced the towels, emptied the trash. 5 minutes ~ tops. I felt like I was at the gym or some public place because there was a soap dispenser on the wall for washing your hands. There were a soap dispenser and a shampoo dispenser on the wall in the tub. Breakfast buffet included in the morning ~ cattle call. Guests wanted to make sure they got their fair share of food. Trying to find a table was a joke. Kids running wild, hands on food items and I even saw a man return several food items on his way out. read more

Supersatfied! We actually had reservation made for a room at Scandic Webers across the street. But when we got there they they told us the bad news, handling everything very professionally. Even giving us a voucher for the bar, for the trouble. At Scandic Copenhagen we got an upgrade to superior (with superior view of the lake). The room was super nice! We stayed on 14th floor. Super friendly professional staff! Kudos to Jakob H handling it all very well! Even here we got extra vouchers for the trouble! This is taking care of guests! Chaotic breakfast - went down around ten. HYSTERICAL. Next morning we went down one hour earlier - still chaotic. Go long before 09 or after 10.15. For some reason hotel has a quarter for children with their mascot Sigge at 9 am... Not very clever in my opinion. This seems to be the hour when most guests (even the ones without children) prefer to have their breakfast. So try one hour later or earlier! Same prices in the bar as at mist other places in CPH - pretty expensive. 2 lager and peanuts was DKK150! Garage DKK 195. Parking is free during weekends on the streets, but the spots just outside the hotel entrance fills up pretty quickly, and the staff didn't recommend parking elsewhere, due to burglers. Cleaning and making bed every third day if not especially asked for. Face products in bathroom. No towel for feet. The hotel is perfectly located for cooler hipster trendy neughborhood instead of Strøget. And I would definitely stay here again. Or at Webers ;) read more

Think "IKEA." Now think "IKEA" in a really good area within walking distance of pretty much everything downtown Copenhagen. The Scandic Copenhagen isn't an impressive hotel, but it IS a clean, fairly comfortable hotel to stay in while you're visiting the city. (Or in our case, before we left on our 2 week Princess Cruise) It has a nice lobby with a bar and an outdoor park-like area for smokers. Nothing to really be overjoyed with, but we slept comfortably, the bathroom floor was heated and the shower was good. We did have 2 twin beds, which we thought was odd, the mattress looked thin but they were surprisingly comfortable. (It's possible we were overly jet-lagged and would have slept on anything) Tivoli and Strøget (Copenhagen's main shopping street and the longest pedestrian street in the world) is within a nice walking distance, but we did, however, need to take a taxi to Copenhagen Street Food on PapirØen and back to the hotel from Nyhavn. I stayed here for one night with my wife while we were in Copenhagan. It originally wasn't our plan to stay here but whenever the hotel we had booked and already paid for ran out of rooms, they put us up here. Check in was quick and simple and within a few minutes we were headed up to the 16th floor. The room that we were staying in was one of the biggest that I have stayed in while visiting Europe. It had a large king sized bed, a couch, a desk, plenty of room to move around, and a TV that retracted into a dresser looking object. As if that wasn't enough there was also a large area with a stand alone tub and TV and then a full sized bathroom as well. The view from our room over the lakes was nice as well. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room and was being served on the ground floor. As other reviewers have mentioned, getting into the room and finding a seat is tough because everything is mayhem. However once we finally got a seat everything was great. The spread consisted of a multitude of different foods all of which I believe were locally sourced or organic. The bottom line for me is that I would stay here again in the future. My wife and I both loved the room and had a great nights sleep. Since breakfast is included it might be well worth your while if you can find it for a reasonable price. read more

Stayed here 3 nights before our HAL Baltic Cruise. Nice quiet location by the Lakes. Within walking distance of Tivoli Gardens and the main shopping street! Copenhagen is a very walkable town. We found a Catholic Church nearby and attended Saturday Vigil mass in Italian! The front desk also recommended a local authentic Danish Restaurant which we loved! We were also able to schedule a out of town day tour with the concierge. The Buffett breakfast was excellent. We are early risers so we avoided the reported crowds! read more

A decent pit stop for those that are in Copenhagen for a short time. We were here only for a one night before we were on our way to our cruise. Walking into the room, I feel like I am transported into an Ikea showroom. A couple beds and a side wall seating area with a small desk. I've never been to the Nordic so maybe this is how all hotels are but this place was accommodating for us. The room itself was a bit ordinary. I expected more but all I needed was a bed. Included is a breakfast in their dining hall that was packed in the morning. The food was typical with scrambled eggs, crepes, fruit, oatmeal, breads, bacon, baked beans, and a cheese. The waitresses were helpful. All in all, this place is a decent pit stop but nothing to rave about. Kind of away from the main city center so everything was a bit of a walk. I saw other Scandic hotels in the city and in other European countries I visited but I will not be booking any rooms at this place if I didn't have to. Hotels of this size tend to get a bit worn down, but this was a nice experience. Our room was really nice - not spectacular but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice, nothing extraordinary but real danish pastries sure made it a lot better :) It is located really close to the trainstation and Ströget, but yet with the nice water ponds nearby, my nieces loved to go outside after breakfast and feed the ducks. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We were 8 persons in four different rooms, staying from one to four nights indiviually. All in all, everyone was pleased. read more

We recently spent three nights at this hotel in June prior to our Baltic cruise, as this is one of two hotels Princess uses. Positives: The hotel location was fine and pretty convenient. The city center was reasonably close, but still did a ton of walking. The front desk staff was personable and very helpful too. Although our room was quite a bit smaller than a U.S. hotel and much more expensive, it was serviceable. The beds were comfortable, but there's only a comforter as a cover. I had to remove the inner puffy part so I could use just the outer layer as a sheet, as they don't provide a top sheet on the bed. Negatives: The water pressure in the shower is very weak. One morning there was no hot water until later on. The biggest negative goes to the hotel's Grille restaurant. After returning from a long, full day touring the Danish countryside, we decided to have dinner at the hotel as we were too tired to walk anywhere else. They made us wait 10 minutes for a table, even though the restaurant was a quarter full at best. When we were seated, we were handed menus, told the specials and then deserted. They kept glancing at us, but did not even offer us a glass of ice water and kept waiting on customers who were already served. After around 20 minutes of this, we left. This was not just bad service; it was NO service. Can't figure out the problem, but we looked presentable and could afford their way overpriced food, but...we voted with our feet. read more

Located pretty central, about 5 minutes from the central station. Its a busy hotel with over 450 rooms. When we arrived there were only one working in the reception, and a long line. I would have loved more personnal in place, so that the check-in could be done faster. The service was OK but not excellent. Five Fast elevators. We stayed on the eleventh floor and had an amazing view over Copenhagen skyline. The room was clean, tidy and modern interior. Love that Scandic have FACE Sthlm products. It feels luxuary. The breakfast was amazing with huge selection. Fresh fruit, different kinds of bread, pastries and cold cuts. Due to lots of guests it was really busy and not so cosy enviroment that I appreciate. read more
