She is all the way on one end, so don't miss this spot. Lot's of cute items and local art to purchase and she was so sweet and helpful. Go support her and pick up something amazing. The other shops had pretty great deals, but I wanted to spotlight that one. There are some food options there too, pizza and burgers so you can grab a drink or something to eat.

You can tell that this was built for the area and took into consideration that this will not always be busy, especially during offseason. There aren't many options when it comes to variety. Mostly all the stores offer some type of clothing, aiming for the beach. Splash in some eateries, a shoe store, and high end souvenir shop, then you basically just formulated this place. Ample parking here, and I dare to say that there isn't a rush to come here. A lot of parking goes unused here as there really isn't much to make you want to come here. A staffer with a silver bob followed me through the store but never said anything to me - not "let me know if I can help you" or "we're having a 20% sale!" (I knew about the sale because she told every single person who came in while I was there - except for me.) She didn't offer me a fitting room and when I was done, she immediately went in and grabbed the two items I had tried on but never asked "how did those fit?" (I hung both items back up neatly so it's not that i made a mess.) I didn't buy anything. In contrast, I got a lovely greeting at Donna Designs (and bought earrings), and struck up conversations with the staff at Outer Barks (bought a harness for my dog, and a T-shirt), as well as at Amity and Allie June (did not buy anything, but took their business card). I think I looked as well-dressed as the other customers at Barr-ee so maybe the staffer disliked my hat? My linen slacks? Too bad. I might've bought something but will not plan to be back. Have never before felt this level of suspicion in 20 years of coming to OBX. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Bottom Line: Trendy, typical beach souvenirs sold in a cramped store by indifferent staff…read more I have not been a huge fan of Farmer's Daughter in the past but I thought I would give it a whirl again this year. The store is mainly packed full of trendy and typical beach souvenirs and clothing but there are some exceptions. I put the stacks of Salt Life, Fish Hippie and Simply Southern tshirts in the trendy/typical category. Some of the nicer items that caught my item were Yeti containers, Southern Tide menswear and Cobian flip flops. In the past I have been a big fan of Farmer's Daughters jewelry but that wasn't very shoppable this time around as it was hard to get to the cases. With the challenges that COVID-19 have created for small businesses I tried to give them a fair shake while vacationing in the Outer Banks for a few weeks but Farmer's Daughter left me disappointed. The store was just as cramped as ever with merchandise spilling over into the aisles. And the employees were less than welcoming. One employee pushed past me, literally, to get back to her restocking task at the jewelry counter. And the employee who rang me up only said four words - "twenty-seven seventy-four."

I emailed them, expressing my interest in a few items. While I didn't expect a response until they were open, Fran invited me to stop by anyway (we had already departed the OBX). She was kind enough to process our order and ship it safely and securely to us. Again, all before they opened for the season! We were so very pleased with our purchases and the kind service. This continued today when Fran realized that they had charged us twice for our order, something I hadn't realized. She had issued a refund as soon as she learned about this and emailed me the receipt. Again, what an exceptional level of Customer service. We look forward to visiting Duck again and visiting with the good folks at Duck General Store in person!

Yep, they have all the Leggs, Hanes and Bali stuff that you're looking for but the prices? Not outlet mall prices. Staff is helpful and they do have some "buy one, half off the second" deals. But the product I use are way cheaper elsewhere.

And why not, if you forgot something needed for the beach, this is one of your best bets to go to. Super Wings dot the Outer Banks. The stores come in all sizes and are recognizable by the yellow buildings. I swear they are spaced just right on the road through the area, and on either side of the road. I was in need of some board shorts and a seat for the beach. They were having a deal for the chairs that day, or it could be for the whole season, and I picked one up. Even though it is for the beach, I still have it in my vehicle and I'm sure it will come in handy. When it came to the board shorts, there area many to choose from. All types of designs including ones with characters. It is almost a requirement, as well, to check out the souvenir section while in here. Knick knacks galore, always something that you can bring home with you.

Well buckle up, because you have no idea what you are in store for. I usually hit up the other Christmas shop in the area, but decided to give this one a try. We pulled in and should have opted for more time scheduled beforehand. Walking in I expected to have Christmas everywhere. I was not disappointed on this end. Christmas was everywhere, displayed in every single way possible. Sections set up by pop-culture icons. Those sections are well manicured and detailed. Then you start to roam, the sections start to mesh into one another. That is when you realize you have gone so far into the store that you don't remember where the front door is. But you don't really care as you start to discover that this place has so much more to offer than just Christmas. Some of it is evident as you notice that they have a snack shop, souvenirs, and wine tasting posted outside before you enter. But what you don't expect is that there are other holidays to explore here. Including the Halloween section that is, appropriately, downstairs. More maze like than you think could be possible here. Then you come into snack area. Everything in here is tempting. Especially the fudge. There area free samples to be had here, which is good, because I was interested but had no idea if I would like any of it. Very friendly staff here. Once you make your way back through the rooms and exit the front door you can explore more. Outside is a sitting section and there is restroom access.
