Is it the worst haunted attraction we've been to? No. Is it the best? Definitely not. Scare farm comes out to $55 per person for 4 attractions. Two hayrides, two walk-through corn fields. The line wasn't bad. We saw reviews that stated they waited 2 hours. Luckily we only waited about ~20 minutes. There was no line for VIP. The first hayride was the best in our opinion. Actors come out of the corn field and jumped onto the hayride and climbed it. Actors with chainsaws came onto the hayride. It was pretty cool! The hayride was short, I would say no longer than 15 minutes, and drops you off at your first walk-through corn field. We waited about 5 minutes here. The corn stalks were pretty high and it was dark which was spooky! But it lacked actors jumping out at you. It wasn't much. Every 10-15 feet there'd be a little "decoration" area. Some had actors, some didn't, and when they did, you could see them so it wasn't much of a scare. Second hayride was a mix of good and not so good. You get on a bigger tractor, but these actors were definitely lacking. Two clown actresses came onto the ride and...weren't scary. They sat on a hay bale next to us and literally said, "Hi, how are you?" And had a conversation with us. Definitely a downer for the hayride. But, what was good about it was there were 2 trucks "chasing" you. That was the best part. There was also a weird part where we stopped and listened to a song while an animatronic moved around. Not sure what that was. The last walk-through cornfield was definitely the worst. Longest wait (about 15 minutes) and the actors didn't even try. One followed us and kept telling us what the definition of a tunnel was. Another tried to scare us and, when we giggled a bit, he totally broke character. At the end, someone in a ghost face costume was standing in the middle of the trail so it wasn't much of a scare. At the end, we walked through a little marker and there was one food stand open selling donuts, cider, coffee, etc. We got hot cider which was a nice touch to the end since it was a little chilly. Overall, we liked the hayrides and the overall experience, but not sure if this would be somewhere we would go back during the spooky season. read more

I heard about this place and decided to check it out. I came here on a Friday, a few days before Halloween and I was shocked to not see this place busy. It was $35 for 3 attractions - the hayride and 2 haunted walk-thrus. My fiancé and I started with the Hayride. This had the longest wait out of everything which was probably about 30 minutes. The guy scaring people in line was awesome and I got a great picture with him. Once you got on the hayride, the scares pretty much never happened. The sets and scenes were far and few between.You couldn't hear the acting whenever they were speaking to the hayride. I will say 3 great things about the hayride... 1) This massive skeleton that gets taller over time and speaks to hayride, 2) The fire breathing dragon and 3) The tractor chasing the hayride. All those things were great and something very different than I've ever seen. After the hayride, we had the 2 haunted walk-thrus. Both of these attractions were MUCH better than the hayride. I loved that they were very interactive such as sliding down a slide, crawling, etc. They did not have a lot of actors in them but the actors they did have were mostly effective. I also will say I loved that they spaced out everyone. Whoever you came with is whoever you went in with. We never even caught up to the group ahead or behind us, it was GREAT! and I wish every place did that. Would I go back? probably not. They need some work but not all is lost. First time going and we loved it. Now you get to do all 3 scare farm attractions for just one price of $30. We heard it was different I think the past where each was separate and you had to wait in line between attractions to enter the next, not so anymore with covid. So something good came out of covid after all . I would recommend going with kids for best experience, if you don't have any you could rent a few for the evening, and a few glasses of wine couldn't hurt. Well worth the money and you can stop and grab some food or anything from the gift shop on your way out. I grabbed a few ears of corn from the maze and they were delicious. read more

This place honestly doesn't even deserve a star! I am so upset I look forward to Halloween and all the scary attractions that come with it. I literally have been to so many since a little girl and by far this had to be the worst. My friend who accompanied me was also upset because he made his boyfriend purchase his tickets ! $80 down the drain!!!! When you first walk in you don't even have someone to guide you to wear the maze begins. When you walk in the first maze you think its scary because its so dark. NOTHING and NO ONE popped out . This place is all mechanical . Idk if they were understaffed but please do better. Oh and please lets not discuss the wait times just to start the 2nd and 3rd attraction. We take our kids to a scary attraction every year at Halloween. Last year they were 16 and 13 and we all loved it! Probably one if the best scary attractions we've been to in NJ. You wait for a while in line but the 2 walks and the hayride combined into a long time in the tour- you definitely get your $ worth. My friend and I went on a Saturday night around 9:30 and got the 2 attraction package for $30. You can pick which attractions you'd like to do but we did the Slay Ride aka the hay ride and the Spooky Hallow trail. (The women at the booth warned us that the hay ride was very scary.) Slay Ride review: The women at the booth told us to go to this attraction first which had the longest wait of about 30-40 minutes. There was an actor walking around being creepy which was cool. The ride in total was probably like 20-25 minutes with very little scare scenes and mediocre acting. It was very understaffed, not scary, the scenes were too far spread, and the acting was pretty bad. I would skip this attraction since even the best parts of the hay ride aren't worth going on. Spooky Hallow: We did the trail after the hayride so there was literally no wait or people in front of us which is always the best. The "trail" is actually in a corn field which I've never been in before and there were actors everywhere! Much, much better than the hayride. Within the cornfield, there are little themes so we walked through a creepy little house, crawled through a quick tunnel, a slaughter house, a carnival. Since it was almost closing time, there was one part where there were some technical guys trying to fix something and they ruined a portion of a scare but it turned into a comical moment and broke up the constant scares which was funny. I don't want to ruin all of the scares but the trail was absolutely worth the $30. Overall I would come back just for the trails! $30 for 2 trails is a great deal and based on the actors on Spooky Hallow, I really enjoyed my time. They did a great job and the decor was pretty decent. I jumped and screamed a few times so I def got my $$$ worth. Skip the Slay Ride and find a different place go on a haunted hay ride. read more

Skip the hay ride - it wasn't scary. Creepy hollow (the middle one) was pretty good. It's a bit understaffed but you could be scared. They rely on small spaces and total darkness to scare you. The story telling could be better. read more

I have enjoyed scare farm a few years in the past, but more go for the novelty of it all. The haunted trails are scary in the sense that you are never sure when someone will jump out. I have always enjoyed the Hay Ride, until this year which was a severe disappointment. My girlfriend and I tried to get the 2 attractions for $30 (so we could do the hay ride), but were told if you buy the 2 attractions, it is per person. So we would have to buy single ones ($20 per attraction). Which makes absolutely no sense - if I buy two tickets, and give someone one.. what is the difference to the business? I can buy two burgers for $2 at McDonald's, so who cares if I eat both or give someone one. The woman wanted to charge us $40 for a short hayride for two. That is insane, and when I questioned her about why that is, she got very nasty about it (raised her voice and said my math is wrong), so we declined and stuck to the $7 corn-maze. I cannot justify working over an hour at work just to go on a 10 minute hay-ride with a 30 minute wait. Who cares who uses a ticket, if you buy two, that's it. If you have any concerns about price, this is not the place to go. Expensive and unfriendly in that regard. I have almost nothing negative to say about the attractions, we have always enjoyed them, but this year's experience left a bad taste and will definitely be told to friends interested in going. read more

While this place has great potential, it's not there yet. We bought the 3 events for $30 and arrived around 8:30. We had asked the women at the window if the lines were long to help us gauge if the $50 price of the VIP tickets were worth it. The women were going back and forth, "I think they said there were 100 people on line..." but there was no clear understanding of how 100 people on line could slow things that dramatically since I have been to many haunted houses in NY that have had a few hundred people on lines, without long delays. We paid for the 6 of us, walked into the "farm" and immediately noticed two verrrrrry long lines for the "Paranoia" and "Creepy Hollow" attractions. We got on line for what seemed the shorter of the two and waited... and waited... and waited. They only let one group in at a time, and they claim they wait 1 minute between groups. I definitely think these people need a timer, because quite a long time lapsed between two groups entering. The concept was OK, but the "scare" factor was weak. There should have been more entertainment for the people who were waiting in the cold for hours. One young, thin, Civil War soldier tried to entertain people with his back flips and screams, but it got old quickly. We finally made it to the front of the line of Creepy Hollow and walked through some OK scares. Then when you leave that attraction, you needed to get back on another line to do the other two. It made no sense. By 10:15 we were waiting on yet another loooooong line and the workers from the "Slay Ride" were polling how many people on our line were still waiting to go to that attraction because they may have wanted to call it a night. We waited on the Paranoia line, only because we felt we wanted to at least get some of our money's worth, but waiting for another hour in the cold was NOT worth it. Now I understand why there were many signs in the ticket booths stating NO REFUND. This place is not well organized, and needs a lesson on getting the lines through the exhibits quicker. We never did the Slay Ride, even though we had paid for it. I wished someone had written a review before we drove 50 minutes to get there.
