Stumpy's is a fantastic spot for a large party, with wide open spaces giving way to smaller areas to just hang and enjoy some backyard games. The BYO option is great, especially with the front desk willing to keep your drinks cold for you as you play. As for the main attraction, I'd have to say that you'll broadly fall into one of two categories. The first category is those who like throwing axes, and if you land here, you'll spend hours hurling steel at wood in true primitive fashion. The second category is those who will throw the axe no more than a dozen times - 2-3 times for laughs, 2-3 times to confirm that this isn't actually your hidden talent, and then a half dozen times when you need a break from talking. I think most people fall into category 2, but are forced to throw a hundred more axes to try and please category 1. I visited here on a Friday night with a group of 8. We had a reservation and we were celebrating a birthday. I loved the setup and decor throughout the location; it's super cute! I was nervous about participating because I'm prone to accidents haha. Before starting, they give a quick, thorough crash course and inform of the rules. The staff member working with us was extremely friendly and informative. He even checked in on us throughout the night and helped a few of our friends with identifying how to better throw the axe. It was all very much appreciated and led to most hitting bull's eye (except for me of course - I never even got it into the wood lol). This location is BYOB (wine and beer only) and you can bring your own food as well. They provide ice, cups, and beer/wine openers. I saw a little snack bar but no attendant there so I'm not sure if it was not open or if we just needed to flag down a staff. Aside from hatchet throwing, they have large connect fours and large jenga in certain areas as well as foosball near the bathroom which I thought was cool. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. We had a great experience. The birthday girl got a piece of wood that said "Happy Birthday" with her name on it. They also gave us markers so that all her guests could sign it. We were also able to cut her a cake while there. Each post has a couch and high tables nearby for everyone to hang out. I've been to other hatchet throwing places and did not expect this place to be so cramped with little room to stand and hang out. It may have been that our area was unfortunately small, but it was just a little claustrophobic. You can bring your own drinks and snacks and they provide your group with a huge bucket of ice. They sell snacks like individual-sized chips and such but it's probably better to bring your own. They also have large table games like Jenga and connect 4. It was my first visit here I had decided to bring my sister as a birthday treat and we had an awesome time . I will admit is wasn't as easy as I thought to get the axe to actually hit bullseye. After about 15 minutes we kind of got the hang of it . Although we didn't get it on the wall often it was definitely fun trying. My arm got pretty sore trying to. Lol. My 2 friends and I came here just for a get together since we hadn't seen each other for a while and we had an amazing time. Andrew was our "coach" he was great (all the staff there was very friendly). He explained the rules and throwing techniques. He kept an eye out for us throughout and if he saw we were having trouble he would give us some recommendations on how to fix our throws or introduce us to other types of axes. I liked that every group had their own throwing section you, didn't have to share with another group. They also had games available such as jumbo jenga and foosball in case you wanted a break from throwing axes. I came here with a group of 7 for my brothers 30th birthday party and everyone involved had such an amazing time. It is BYO food and drinks, which I LOVED because we just asked everyone coming to bring their drink of choice and I brought a ton of beer and food for everyone to nosh on. To be honest, no one wanted to put down their axes for even a few minutes so don't over think the food part. If you are coming for a party, my advice would just be to bring a few snacks like chips or cookies. Something quick to grab and then go back to the action. You'll get a huge table to set everything up on. Unlike other activities in this realm, most people that come here are throwing an axe for the very first time. (Weird, right?) It was something that everyone had to learn and everyone started at the same level. One of the employees takes some time before you get to the throwin' to give you a lesson on proper technique. Be prepared to be very bad. But then get excited because you'll get the hang of it surprisingly quick! This place is rather new and the owner was amazing. She got us a bucket of ice for our drinks and when I needed birthday candles she had them at the ready. They even gave us a board from one of the targets to sign and the birthday boy got to take it home. It can seem a little steep price-wise at $40/person for 2 hrs but honestly, it is a clean, cool space where you don't bump into anyone else out side of your party. We reserved two pits for the 7 of us which was perfect because with 2 people able to throw at a time, you were rarely waiting for your turn. The staff is amazing and helpful and you aren't paying a ton for drinks and food because you brought your own. MAJOR TIP: Make sure everyone is wearing closed toed shoes. They have a pretty strict (rightfully so) rule about that. read more

Five stars for a fabulous place to celebrate my friend's 40th birthday! Nothing says turning 40 like throwing a bunch of axes into a wooden block. Stumpy's was wonderful - they let us set up balloons and catering, it was BYOB, and they provided a big block of wood as a commemorative board for us all to sign as a memento of the event.
