The previous two dentists I saw for extractions wanted me to wear braces, which seemed pointless and embarrassing to me, after 40. I finally found Dr Owens; he never pressured me to straighten my teeth. He gently explained my teeth weren't too crooked for care; I could avoid disease and keep those remaining with regular dental care. He cured my pain by filling two very large cavities, not promising how long they would last because of their size. I finally had one capped 15 yrs later, the other remains over 20 yrs later. I can't believe he was as harsh as described in one review - maybe there's more to that story that she's not telling or telling inaccurately. She admitted she already hated him, and had not felt comfortable around him since 10. At 15, if she felt that way, why would she not want her parent with her, saying she was old enough to go alone? Sure sounds a little odd to me, but I don't know, since I wasn't there. Perhaps some patients are more problematic than others. As for his claimed mistreatment of children, my son never had a problem with him and always liked him. All I can say is that for over 20 years he's always been very proficient, professional, prompt, kind, soft spoken and compassionate with me and my family. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I'd become worried that the bone would deteriorate beyond repair if I let it go longer so I took a chance. It was affordable and took only a few visits over 6 months. They were able to get me in very quickly. Before my visit I was able to do all of my paperwork electronically. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by a girl at the front desk. She asked my name and was very polite. This office was beautiful and spotless. They have a really lovely waiting area that even includes a kids area with gaming systems. There's coffee and clean bathrooms. I was so excited that they had a chalkboard out with their appointment names welcoming everyone that day. They celebrate their patients whether it is just a visit, getting braces put on or taken off. It's little things like that that make you feel extra special. I was taken back quickly and had X-rays made. We didn't wait long at all for the doctor. He and his *I think she is his assistant walked us through the entire process start to finish. They were very patient. He took his time doing a thorough examination and explained what my treatment options were. This is my third orthodontic assessment if you will.(different dentist) I really wanted Invisalign or a clear retainer. He explained to me why that would not be possible but what he could accomplish with regular braces. Being a metal mouth at 40 makes me a little nervous. He made me feel so at ease by giving me more than one treatment option. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming and I am looking so forward to going back next month and getting my braces put on. In 2 years I might be brave enough to post some before and after pictures. Now let me go sell a kidney so I can afford this.

He explained everything that was happening before and during and it all went very quickly, smoothly, and nearly painlessly. The assistants helped me stay calm while he was performing the extraction. They were actually really nice about my panic unlike a lot of dentists I've been to. A couple of hours after I left, he even called to check on me and make sure I was still okay. If you are in need of an oral surgeon, this is definitely a practice I would recommend Henry Turner.

I arrive just a little early, because I know I can throw off their schedule all day if I'm late. I wish they had the same curtesy for me. I watched most of the staff walk in right at 8.
