There is a hot tub; bring a suit. You can indicate what time you'd like breakfast and the food is well prepared and delicious with excellent quantity and variety. Tea, juice, milk and good coffee are on offer. There is a cozy sitting area where adult beverages as well as bottled water, tea and coffee are available with board games and a fireplace. This is near skiing, and you could enjoy beautiful Somerset fall foliage. I'm told it is rarely humid in the area. It is also close close to the memorial for flight 93. We were in town with family for a funeral and this was a very comforting place to gather and spend time with family and friends. The owners and staff are considerate and kind. They took marvelous good care of us.

They are wonderful! They do anything they can to make their guests feel like they belong. If you are looking for great repartee or to enjoy a quiet evening alone, either way, they will happily oblige. Then there is the food! Everything is made from scratch...including the yogurt! Finally, there is the house itself. Enjoy mechanical music? Boy have they got it! There are at least four grand reproducing pianos, a pianola, a full player organ, numerous rare music boxes, and victrolas and radios of every sort. Then there is the collection of rare clocks...to many to count. During the summer, you will probably receive a tour of the spectacular antique car collection which includes two Franklin Automobiles and an American LaFrance roadster, to name a few. Really the star of the show was waking up and seeing the fog rolling in off the mountains and sitting down to a very hearty 5 star breakfast. I'd recommend doing the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and dining at the Gin Mill to complement your stay.

My two sisters and I (and our significant others) came to celebrate a milestone birthday and were beyond impressed with this place. The ambiance is fantastic! The courtyard is beautiful as well as the patio in the back. The decorating that Kitty has done throughout the inside of the house is really beautiful. And as David says, "We want to concentrate on two things: The bed, and the breakfast." And that is exactly what they have done here. Each evening, David will come to offer your breakfast choices for the following morning. And it's not just bacon and eggs people... these are GOURMET offerings all made fresh on site using fresh ingredients. We had a choice of a peach cobbler oatmeal that had peaches from the tree in the backyard even and it was delicious! There was also one addition that just made my stay even more superb... a little dog named "Jack" and he is the most precious (smiling) doggie that I have ever seen! So stinkin' CUTE! Anyway... if you are ever in the area (checking out Frank Lloyd Wright's work) you should definitely give this place a shot. They are phenomenal! Thank you David and Kitty!
