We had an amazing experience at Whispering Hollow Estate! The following is for those looking for some details about this venue. The moment that my son and now daughter-in-law pulled into the parking lot they said "This is it!" It is a beautiful property with large willow trees, multiple bridges, streams with waterfalls and a lovely reception hall with a fire place and huge patio. There is a lovely bridal suite where the bride and bridesmaids all got ready prior to the ceremony while the guys went skeet shooting. After shooting the guys returned to the grooms room. Onsite there are also 6 cabins that can be rented. We used these for members of the bridal party. They were perfect! I cannot say enough about the staff at Whispering Hollow. Kevin was our Superman! He gave us excellent direction for catering. We had the rehearsal dinner on site which was wonderful. Kevin also helped us with planning meals for early in the day on Saturday. He thought of everything! He helped to keep our night on schedule and did so with a smile. We had an incredible weekend. We are all so thankful to everyone involved in helping to make this such a wonderful event! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. With that said, there isn't a ton to do here with kids. It was the perfect amount of time for us, but met other families who were struggling to keep their own kids occupied. There are some really nice trails around the property, which are perfect. And you can also check out some free toys and games from one of the shops inside. That said, if you don't have great weather, options can be limited. We didn't get a chance to visit the spa, but the space looks amazing from what I saw online. The rooms were spacious and well set up for a family. We ate at a few of the restaurants on site. Service was mostly on point though the tavern was really off. Our server was perfectly friendly but pretty much messed up the entire order. I would go back but not sure I'd be eager to rush back anytime soon. We did enjoy the experience but I think a few bumps could be worked out such as helping with our luggage upon arrival. We were able to valet but couldn't find anyone to help us with the bags and the rolling carts don't easily go over the front door to get inside.
