I have a Scott Mountain bike that is out of warranty however I had a part fall off while riding ... which is somewhere up on a mountain. I thought perhaps Scott Corporate (in Utah) might make this right, so I went to Scheels since they're the Scott Dealer in Reno and I talked with Tyler Rich in the bike shop. HE IS AMAZING! He met with me for about 45 minutes ... giving me his undivided attention. He looked up the part I needed and said he would talk to the Scott rep and see if they could supply the part for free ... which they did. They shipped it to me as I live about 50 miles away and I was ready to go in a few days! While I was waiting for an answer, my wife & myself walked around their bike area as she is considering an E-Bike. They have a huge inventory and everything anyone could need. They even take in trade-ins for those who want to upgrade and this makes it affordable for anyone wanting to get in on an entry-level model and then upgrade later if that's what they want. I ordered a pair of uggs on line two weeks ago to bring with me on vacation to Colorado in the middle of the winter. boots were supposed to arrive bet1/15-1/31 they had the audacity to email me on 1/30 at 11:45 pm that the boots were out of stock. Walked into this store to get my husband a jacket. The store was packed and literally about 95% of people were not wearing masks. We turned right around And walked out. I love this store! If you like Bass Pro or Cabela's you will definitely love this place. It has a ferris wheel inside. But right now because of covid, of course non-op. We came to find some new shoes for work- since we spend a lot of time there! I absolutely fell in love with these new released New Balance shoes! I've worn them everyday since Friday and love them outside of work too- I've always been a fan of Nike's, and wouldn't adventure outside of that for training- and now it's nothing but New Balance, as we've 6 pairs and swear by them! The customer service at Scheels we're amazing team members and very helpful! The shoes were originally $120.00 and the sale price was $89, when we went to the register they gave us a coupon for $50 for opening one of their cards!! My first time walking in I came in the south door and was greeted by a huge aquarium that I could walk under. Next I saw an expansive fan gear section with various teams from just about every sports Then there's the Ferris wheel they have in the middle of the store. Upstairs they have a great selection of hunting tools from reload supplies, ammo, cleaning and firearms. Much like their rival they have an even larger game mountain of taxidermied wild game. Another feature I enjoyed while roaming the huge store is the founding fathers animatronics that gave a speech when their button was pushed. This is my favorite sports store because it's more than a sports store--they also have a mini aquarium, dead stuffed animals, interactive games, and humongous Ferris wheel. On our trip to the California coast, our rooftop carrier started rattling mercilessly while passing Reno. We couldn't fix it, so we stopped at Scheels to get a replacement. Ryan was so incredibly helpful! He hooked us up with a fantastic Yakima rooftop carrier, shared his own personal experience with his own, and helped us install it onto our van. We had our dog with us and he was very friendly with her, sharing stories of his adventures with his dog as well. While there are hundreds of options in every department, it is difficult to find a salesperson who is knowledgeable or even very helpful. Wow! I had no idea that Scheels had so much more to offer beyond sporting goods. On my last visit I discovered their home decor department and was quite impressed by their plethora of wall decor, which was surprisingly all pretty affordable. They also have a lot of activities to keep your kiddos busy during your shopping trip. They have the Ferris wheel on their main floor (buy the $1 token at the cashier stations) as well as a small jungle gym in their kid's shoe dept. On the second floor they have a mini putting green, taxidermy display, mini bowling alley, and a shooting gallery. If you get hungry during your visit here, they also have a cafe onsite where you can eat at, which includes an area where they sell various flavors of fudge. With all Scheels has to offer, you can easily spend hours here. A shopping trip the whole family will enjoy. read more

We were extremely disappointed to walk into Scheel's the other day and see that almost nobody was wearing masks or following Covid guidelines. We were almost the only two in there with our masks on. The employees were not enforcing them and putting everybody in danger and at risk. Our state has not lifted the mandate. This needs to change, and Scheel's needs to do a lot better job of enforcing these rules. read more

So this is based off an online order since I live in Northern Cali and will probably never venture here in real life! I mistakenly ordered the wrong size for my own kid (mother of the year award- thanks) and so I frantically email them even after the fulfillment status changed. Their CSR emailed me back almost immediately and was able to swap out the products and ship same day! Like that might not be a big deal to many people, but if you have ever dealt with the countless minutes waiting and hoping and praying that you can get through to a CSR for them to usually tell you it's too late to do anything, this is a big deal. Mike at Scheels-Reno is a hero. I had to take my daughter's bike (not purchased at Scheels) on a flight back home with only hours left to spare. Mike/bike-service dept said he had bike boxes and rushed to help me, disassembling my bike then carefully packaging it in the box - and ensuring it was taped securely for the flight (truly above and beyond!). I was pleasantly surprised and extremely impressed with the amazing customer service (not even a customer!!). I expressed my gratitude to the manager (who gave Mike a well deserved on the spot award- but think he should get a raise!!) and commitment to getting my business in subsequent visits. I think scheels is a great store.... however; they do not enforce mask wearing. There is a sign in the front but it was not enforced. I witnessed at least 15 people inside, shopping and paying with no mask. If you "can't do anything once they are in the store" don't check them out! It should not be ok for my family and I to have to stand in line next to people who are maskless. Our city has worked so hard to keep doors open and if we don't all enforce this together, what's the point. read more

Must agree that his is a huge sporting goods store! Friendly customer service, welcoming atmosphere throughout the store, the prices are fair (depending on what it is you are buying), and the restrooms were clean. Got to ride the ride indoor Ferris Wheel, saw the fresh water and salt water fish tanks on opposite sides of the store, played the mini-bowling alley, and saw the various statues or life-like figures of presidents and wild animals. They also have a Premium Gun Store. Yup. There's also an airplane inside, a statue of a snow boarder and a statue of a mountain biker on the outside. The employees at the Ferris Wheel are super friendly and very helpful with ensuring that your ride is as safe as possible. The store had two levels and offer all kinds of sporting goods to accommodate just about every sports fanatic's needs. We will definitely be back here on our next visit to Reno. read more

I needed a roof cargo box so I called Scheels. They said that they could pull it from another store but I had to come in and pay for it first which I did. A week later when it was time for me to pick it up for our family trip, they say they can't find it but it looks like it's in the store. The next day I get a call and they said we refunded you your payment because we can't get it for you. I'm a week away from my trip and no cargo box. Bravo Scheels!
