Updating my review as I visited a few weeks ago and was very happy with my visit! They completely renovated their store and it looks wonderful. They also updated their menu to specify prices for a small and a large sandwich and even have the bread clearly on display near the menu. I really appreciated seeing that so much! The lady who I assumed was the owner/manager was very kind and got me my order of a large croissant sandwich meal , key lime pie bar, and an iced coffee. The sandwich was delicious and I upgraded it to a meal. I kind of panic picked my side and chose the potato salad. It is a very eggy-based potato salad and is definitely the choice for you if you prefer that! And the sandwich was great and I was pretty happy. The key lime pie bar had a perfect ratio of key lime mixture and the shortbread crust. I love crust and appreciated that there was the perfect amount to enjoy both flavors. The texture of the key lime pie + lemon bars are more whipped/cohesive compared to the usual lemon bar's acidic softness. I think this would be perfect for people with food sensory issues or just people who don't like the texture of normal lemon bars. The spicy seafood pasta salad is to die for! The cupcakes are always moist and the croissants are fresh and crisp with a soft center.

I am really disappointed at the changes in the baked goods. I went to pick up 2 cakes I had called to reserve. When I got there, 2 days before Thanksgiving, I discovered that they were only single layer cakes. I guess they were trying to save on the frosting. I did not purchase them because they just looked tacky to take to a dinner party. I have purchased the banana and carrot cakes many times and have always been very happy with them; they were delicious and attractive layer cakes. I purchased a chocolate layer cake instead and again I was disappointed. It had a layer of cake crumbs around the sides as decoration but the frosting under that was the thinnest layer, really only a crump cake. Prices keep going up as the quality has dropped. read more

Completely Upset regarding Management at Butterfingers. I purchased a chicken salad sandwich at the Crown point location that was made at either the Highland or Munster location according to management in Crown point. According to management at Crown-point, she stated that they use chicken breast not skinless and unfortunately sometimes maybe a piece of the bone or Cartlidge may have been left by accident. Well, apparently that's what happened with me. I ate a chicken salad sandwich from the Crown point location, that was all I ate that day. I unfortunately ended up with a foreign body lodged, possibly a bone in my esophagus, and when I contacted the manager at Crown point, she didn't seem to be too concerned. I even stated that I may end up in surgery, I explained I didn't want this to happen to somebody else and that they may wanna pull the rest of the sandwiches off the shelf, The only thing she stated was that she would contact the Highland and Munster store. I then asked her if she wanted my phone number to get a hold of me, she did not seem too concerned. She took my number and to this day I have not heard from anyone its been 4 days. I consistently buy cakes From the Highland location, this was the first time I was in the Crown point location. I purchased a Carrot cake for Easter and it was the first I ever purchased a chicken salad sandwich However Mistakes like that should not happen... Love Butterfingers! Awesome box lunches that are made fresh and fast! Whenever I'm in the area and want a damn good sandwich I swing in at either this or the munster location. Cakes and brownies are amazing here and the breads are so hearty and delicious. The double chocolate mousse cake, hazelnut and German chocolate cakes to die for, cheesecakes are creamy and delicious too. Can't say enough good things about the brownies especially the cranberry bars they only have in winter when cranberries are in season. I legit wait patiently ALL year for those things Cakes are only sold whole, halved or quartered. A quarter of a cake is basically 2 generous slices... or one if you're feelin froggy that day. Customer service is always friendly and very helpful, they know all the cakes and what allergens they may contain too so if you have any food allergies let them know and they'll steer you in the right direction. When you walk in the first thing you should do is grab a number!!! They often have a long line in which if you don't get a number, you can be waiting for a very long time. Very overpriced. $20 for a half cake and they don't even have boxes to fit a half cake so they put it in a whole cake box and even after placing the cake on the floor of the car to avoid tipping, it tipped anyway. The topping had to be scraped off the side of the box. For as much as they charge they ought t9 get some boxes to fit what they are selling. And the menu is very inconsistent. Went there 3 times to get some walnut brownies for my mother and the never had them in. My family loves butterfinger cakes. I have never had an issue, and the cakes are delicious. They do get busy because of such good cakes, so be patient and grab a number. I have read some of the reviews and it seems that poor customer service was a lot of people's one star reviews, I can say we have never experienced those issues. We have many bakery options to choose from, but we choose to drive 40 minutes for butterfingers! read more

I would like to write a review as a former Butterfingers employee.... I worked with Butterfingers for three years. I have nothing but positive words to express my time spent there! Being that Butterfingers was my first job I started out with the company quite young. From day one I was treated with the upmost respect....beyond that, I was treated with kindness. As this is a family run business it's pretty small, so you get to know everybody very well. Although I am not directly related to the owner and his family, I can very happily say I left (and will always remain) a close member. I was always proud to work for a company that delivered such high quality product to a clientele who exuded excitement and support for the store! Not to mention working with other employees who were all focused on a common goal....ensuring people leave happy, and of course having fun while doing it. (Yes you heard me....work....it was fun!) When the time came for me to move on to another career path EVERY SINGLE one of my bosses, including the owner himself, wrote me an outstanding review and wished me well on my new journey ahead. This meant the world to me. So, if my statement above isn't enough to make you fall in love....Butterfingers still has the most delicious food in town.
