When our grandmother got sick ... they were so nice when I called to ask about her joining my grandfather in the same crypt. But after she passed this year ... it became a nightmare. It started out ok ... as my aunt made all the arrangements and was again promised that our grandparents would be laid to rest together. Much of our family had moved away from the area ... but many decided to come back (from as far as CA and the UK) just for the interment. Everything was fine as family members flew her urn in from CA. Upon calling them to confirm the service in less than 1.5 days ... this is where things took a turn for the worse, as they said grandma would now NOT be with grandpa, but in another crypt! This went back and forth for another whole day ... where they said the only solution to ensure that they'd be together was to purchase ANOTHER crypt at over $5K plus fees, which was in the newer section away from the rest of our family ... and we would have to postpone the service already scheduled for the next day until new paperwork was completed! It was thoroughly demoralizing ... not to mention callus and uncaring after the pain and grief we were already experiencing from the loss of our grandmother. After we resigned ourselves to continuing with the planned service with grandma being in a different crypt (especially since all family members had already made arrangements to attend the next day) ... we were thrown for another loop when we went there in the morning prior to the service. As the crypt was opened in preparation for the interment ... it seemed like the size of the crypt did not match the paperwork/contract and the urn would NOT fit! We had to scramble again and it was by some miracle that we were able to resolve it. What a terrible way to do business and to take advantage of families at such a difficult time in their lives ... just horrendous!!

When we lost my father recently, my two sisters were the ones who had to deal with the funeral arrangements. Luckily, they were in the hands of one of the nicest funeral directors you would ever want to meet. That's Rocco. He guided them very gently through the many decisions they had to make, was very calming and sympathetic to my mother, didn't try to upsell us on anything and generally made what is a most painful experience one that honestly... wasn't too bad. He thought of everything, really, he did and took notice of even the smallest of things. For example, at the funeral mass, when he moved the flowers from one area to another, he was literally on his hands and knees discreetly picking up fallen flower petals off the floor. His timing was impeccable and kept the services on time and the crowds in line. After the funeral was over, we panicked for a moment because no one remembered to write down who sent which flowers so we could thank them. No worries - Rocco had already collected them and provided the cards to us later. I will be forever grateful for his many small kindnesses and treatment of our family during this difficult time. Thank you, Rocco, you do rock!

I'm glad to see others have had positive experiences, but I really cannot recommend this place. I was traveling in rural Japan when my mother died. It was difficult to get back to New Jersey and took me a little time. I spoke to the funeral home staff on the phone, clearly explained what we wanted, and told them my expected arrival. While I was ON THE PLANE, the funeral home consulted with a friend of my mother's, not even a family member, and made irrevocable decisions that went directly against what I had explicitly stated on the phone before I left Japan. No one checked with me. No one tried to contact me. No one considered waiting a few hours until my plane landed when they could have called me to discuss. No one told me anything until I arrived at the funeral home days later. This is completely unacceptable and unethical behavior and quite frankly, I was so shocked, while also experiencing grief, that I couldn't even react at the time. It's several years ago now, but I still think of it often. I am still angry about it. In fact, just writing this made me furious again. Please go somewhere else if you need funeral services. Somewhere that has respect for people.

Gibbs Life Celebrations Funeral Home during a google search and they arrived minutes after our initial call. It's difficult entrusting the final care of your loved one to someone and when they exceed your expectations it's so emotional. My mother-in-law received a funeral fit for the Queen that she was and so happy I discovered R.S. Gibbs Life Celebration Funeral Home. I am such a perfectionist and when I walked in the church and saw the care, details and professionalism, I could do nothing more but cry in gratitude and appreciation for the services rendered by Romaine. When my father passed shortly after, there was no question who I was going to call and once again, Romaine and staff "did their thing" to ensure a beautiful home going service for my dad. After the initial funeral in Philly my father was sent to Jamaica for a second service and burial. Gibbs supported the entire transport process providing transit updates along the way and ensured the casket was packed securely to withstand freight services. When I saw my dad in Jamaica (2 months later) he looked as if he was serviced, it was amazing. I was blessed to stumble across R.S. Gibbs Life Celebration Funeral home, aim is to exceed your expectations from the initial call/pick-up to the final closing of the casket. .

I was told if the vet was at 10 Am, they would be waiting for pickup at 10:15 and If it was much longer I would be charged $300 more dollars. so, I would definitely be rushed to the price of $2,200.
