The electricity was out at our house Monday morning. We had a doctors appointment in town we had to make, so we pulled the cord disabling our garage door. When we returned home, we couldn't get it to work. Schilling Overhead door came out right away and reinstalled the controller then serviced the whole unit. They were so efficient and pleasant! This company doesn't even deserve 1 star. We needed the spring replaced on our garage door. We have used this company for 3 other spring replacements over the years and also about a year or two ago we had to replace the opener. We've always been happy with this company's service, prices, and their employees have always been friendly and helpful. However, that was not the experience this time. They came out and replaced the spring charging us $192.88. That amount seemed high to me so I called the company and left a message explaining that we had used them in the past and had been happy with them but this time the price seemed too high. The owner called and said that charge is correct and won't discount anything. He said the service call to Bandera is $125 and the spring is $75. He said what we were charged is cheaper than what it should have been. And he told my husband, "Your wife said we have used you a lot in the past and I looked back and y'all haven't ". Pretty much calling me a liar. My husband told him this is our 3rd spring and had them replace the opener for $450. Told him we will get someone else in the future and he didn't care. He even suggested names. We will never use this company again and we will let everyone we know in the Bandera, Lakehills, Kerrville area know not to use them. read more

Like the other review, I don't feel this operation deserves even one star. My husband, told Schilling the exact situation and what was needed. They came out today and acted surprised to see what was to be done. They were unprofessional, unprepared, and were mocking/laughing at the situation in their truck as they were leaving. My husband, who is an amputee, was particularly bothered by their lack of courtesy and their poor attitude. Whomever owns the company should be concerned about customer satisfaction and the rudeness of employees. read more

I have never had the displeasure of working with this company but am writing a review based off of the experience that my parent's had with them installing the overhead doors on their barn. The major issue that has occurred is that this company failed to bring the weather strip far enough down on either side of the doors and, therefore, dust and rodents have easy access to the barn. In addition, the failed to install any weather strip at all on the top part of the barn opening, so when the door is closed there is a gap between the door and barn itself. These problems, while they sound minor, cause major issues for my parents as they live on a ranch with dirt roads and are forced to sweep out the barn at least once a week and leave out mouse traps. Also, in case anyone is wondering why I am writing this review instead of my parents, it is due to the fact that they are the type of people who keep things to themselves, blame themselves for hiring the wrong person, and feel it is their own responsibility to fix it. I admire my parents for being this way but keeping poor service to yourself doesn't help anyone else. In addition, they should not be obligated to do the work that they have already paid a supposed professional for. Ken Schilling, you are a thief, terrible manager, and/or a poor judge of your employees' character and abilities. I hope you'll contact me and attempt to make this right. read more
