I grew up right outside of Austin where Schlotzky's was born. Been eating their sandwiches most of my life and was so excited to be close to one again but after visiting a few times, have to say I'm a little disappointed. This is, from what I can find on the Schlotzsky's website, the last one in Oregon, there used to be several but now this is it, I have always liked Schlotzsky's since I discovered one on vacation in Istanbul, It had been a couple of weeks since I had eaten American style food and I was happy to find it. Since then the chain grew big then shrunk down. This outpost is also has Cinnabon behind the counter. Like all Schlotzsky's they make there own buns daily. The food is better then most other fast food places. This is the first Schlotzsky's I have seen with a drive through and the building looks to have been built for them. The branch is very clean and the staff friendly. This time I had the classic turkey sandwich which was very good, On a fresh baked bun there was turkey, some sort of salami and veggies it was very good. It lasted fresh and not to greasy or salty which is good. In the past I have had the Pizza which is also good This time i did not see or maybe just did not notice the chicken Caesar wrap which was a favorite of mine when there was a branch in Tualatin. It is a bit out of the way but worth it for me if I am in Bend anyways. read more

This place has good food but , the service is unbelievable. I had To wait for the girl to finish texting on her phone to pay for my order . When , the man brought the food to the window, I told him that she's making people wait while she is reading and texting on her phone at the drive through window. He says , ya, she's young.... I said the cashier shouldn't have there phone at the register when there working, he says , "well, that's your opinion and I have to respect that " . I feel like it is NOT respectful to the customer to look at your phone and lean on the counter when they just want to pay for there stuff and leave . I don't eat out often , but , that's just wrong . $9 for a medium veggie sandwich? Asked for NO onions, NO olives. Got a sandwich with olives and onions. I could easily pick the onions off, but the olives were melted in with the cheese. So, there goes the cheese. It's a solid $2 sandwich for iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and ranch dressing. Got it delivered, so could NOT take it back. read more

I'm so disappointed! I ordered from door dash, the pick two, i chose the bacon cheese sandwich and Tom soup. Both had great flavor but still starving as it was half a sandwich (which is already small) and half a cup of soup. All the flavors were there but such small portions. The forgotten step child of the deli sandwich chains. Here in Bend, first thoughts always run to Togos, Subway and the like when Schlotzsky's is actually one of the better options available. Fairly convenient location. Corner of Hwy 20 & 27th for those living on or passing thru Bend's east side. Immaculate facility. From the restrooms to the dining room. It's spotless. Recent addition for those with a sweet tooth is the Cinnabon franchise located in this store. Yum! The food is made to order and always delicious. Soups, sandwiches, pizzas and now salads. It's also a Coke place. Sorry, Pepsi fans. On a side note: the owners of this Schlotzsky's are also HUGE supporters of our veterans and their various causes. Like so many other smaller chains, Schlotzskys locations seem to be fewer and farther between. Schlotzsky's was also a much nicer and better-tasting alternative to Subway, Quiznos, and the like. As you would guess, when the nearest Schlotzsky's closed up shop, I was disappointed. I was heading through Bend one afternoon and caught this shop in my peripherals. It had been years since I'd had one, so I figured why not. Same old goodness I was no longer privy to. Turns out they're also cranking out Cinnabons, which is an interesting combination. Too bad they weren't also selling Cinnabon's beverages, like the Mochalatta chill. Definitely could've used one of those on my drive that afternoon. Oh well. Price-wise, it's on par with Quiznos/Togos, but it's most definitely a different taste. Round bread! Wish there were more of these around, but sadly, that's not the case anymore. read more

Yikes. It took about 15 or so minutes to make a salad, cup of already made soup, and a smoked cheesey whatever. They have a drive thru and I can't even IMAGINE waiting 15 minutes for "fast food" when there's no line. Salad looked old, meat was grey. Smoked cheesey was so dry we had to smother it in ranch to swallow it. The staff was very young and didn't seem interested in anything customers needed. They talked extremely loud in the kitchen about stuff customer probably shouldn't hear about. Their menu outside was so confusing so we went inside, which was completely different and easier to understand. The soup I chose from the menu apparently was only on certain days? Had a buy one get one free from smart shopper. Hadnt been in there in 10 years. Yikes. Bought the turkey with guacamole and angus beef. One: bread is really dry and herbs in it overwhelm the taste of the innards. Bread is a secondary taste. Here it overwhelms whats inside. Two: portions. My God what a ripoff. If i paid that for one sandwich i would have called the cops for pickpocketing. Consider $8.59 for about 10 ounces. A poor value. Three: poor guy was working hard but he was mexican and barely spoke English. Sorry I live in the US and speak English. Took a lot of back and forth to get my order through. Every time I go there no matter the day it never fails their soup is always navy bean and chicken with wild rice... NOT GREAT! The soup used to be so good! But it's still a great little deli with good sandwiches and pizzas Just start switching out the soups please! read more

Not impressed! My order was almost completely wrong- may be a hazard of the drive through. I advise going in. I attempted to order the pick 2- half size combo deal. I received just one full size flatbread. I ordered the spicy brisket but it wasn't spicy and wasn't filling. It was tasty but far fetched to call it spicy, zesty might have been a better term. I was also supposed to have a salad. I ordered a wrap as well but it wasn't the wrap I ordered or even the salad I thought I ordered. It too was small. Daughter thought wrap was ok but not sure how we got a completely different one than ordered! Too bad this was my first experience with this shop. read more

I love this place! Janet, the night manager helped me. She was polite and professional. You see, I ordered a sandwich the night before and there must have been some kind of miscommunication because the sandwich was drowning in sauce and inedible. I asked for a replacement and she helped me without judgement or question. (She also included a free Cinnabon!) She gave me the kind of experience that makes me want to go back. I went here on a slow Wednesday evening and I ordered the 10" Gourmet Double Cheese Pepperoni sourdough pizza. The pizza came out and the crust looked like flatbread, as it was very flat and not at all like the thick, fluffy gourmet bread. I asked the server if it was a mistake and he did not seem to understand me. He left twice and came back to tell me they don't have a gourmet pizza. I told him they did and said I could show him on the menu. He went back and then a manager came out and told me "someone" made the sourdough bread flat today and they could make another, but it would be the same. Did not offer any other alternative, said "sorry" and walked away. Ridiculous, argued with customer and did not know own menu. Horrible CS and experience. FALSE ADVERTISING MISLEADING! Not worth my drive from Redmond. The FB page states 1 per customer and they said I needed to show the email. This is posted on the Bend Schlotzky FB page so no excuses. Only gave us 1 and there was 4 of us. Only reason I will come back is that I have some gift certificates. First they left the rewards network, now this. Great place for lunch! It's right next to the hospital, too. The menu is quite extensive, and they serve different soup every day. For the portion of the food you get, the price is really affordable. They have a lot of bread choices as well for sandwiches--just like Subway :D I order the 8" Chicken Alfredo pizza. It was really good and the crust was perfect. It's like a personal pizza but I think it's good for two people. The best deal they have here is by ordering the combos they have. Used to have an occasional Schlotzky's (original) when we lived in Texas, and then before they closed the only one in Keizer, Oregon. One of the things that jogged a quick trip to Bend (besides it being a neat town) was the fact that it is the only locale in Oregon I believe with a Schlotzsky's. We ate there last night, and was wondering if it had changed since we last had a sandwich. It had not! Sourdough buns still good as ever, and basically a good sandwich. Don't normally post reviews of such places on Yelp, but am hoping this helps encourage someone to re-open one nearer to us in Salem. Likely not the most heart healthy sandwich, but in terms of "fast food" is the best! read more

I absolutely LOVE Schlotzsky's, however this location is not the best. I am from Texas and was super excited to find one in Oregon when we moved here, but the service has been pretty disappointing at this one. I've had orders messed up multiple times and always have to ask to have sweet tea made (we Texans love our sweet tea.) Still love the food, but going to this location is more often frustrating than not. Hope it changes! read more
