They don't skimp out on the toppings. There was a fresh bread delivery as we were waiting for our food. You have to get a cookie for dessert. They are big, soft and chewy. I love Josie's!! This is a gem in Sunriver. It's family owned and family friendly. You can tell from the moment you walk in it's a family business. I think everyone who works there is apart of this family. They argue and bicker that way but you know it's out of love for one another. I've been here a few times now and every time I've come in I've never been disappointed. The sandwiches are made with love and they really listen to any request you may want to add to customize your meal. What I love the best is the ingredients are fresh and they do not cut corners here. Josie's special sauce is a must try on any sandwich! The experience that made me smile today when I came in and made me want give this review is the customer service. I ordered a normal breakfast sandwich and added some veggies. The lady that took my order was very sweet and attentive. She never once rushed me or made me feel like I was a bother by adding things to my sandwich. What took it to the next level was the inquiry about the soup of the day, clam chowder. My absolute favorite!!! They didn't have any ready yet because obviously it was morning. I asked her what time they closed and I told her I would come back later in the day for it. She said it would probably sell out before I got back so she offered to put in a ticket for a later pickup. What?! Who does that and on top of it said to just let her know if I couldn't make it back in time. Right there is above and beyond customer service. This is why I will frequent a place if the service is good. I don't need to feel like I'm being pampered on, just welcomed. This place is just that and on top of it, delicious food too! This is a hidden gem!! We placed a large order for 7 people and I arrived a few minutes before the pickup time and the staff was so friendly letting me know the order was almost ready. Then the woman making the sandwiches asked another worker to double check the order and make sure it wasn't missing anything which I really appreciated. As of the sandwiches, they were FANTASTIC!! So affordable for an incredible deli sandwich, we ordered essentially one of everything and not a single thing disappointed. I would highly recommend Josie K's Deli and Kitchen! read more

What I just learned today at this place- if u order a sandwich online and they give u a pick up time. Even though NO OTHER CUSTOMERS are in store. They won't have it ready until the time stated. So even if u come in early and they have NO OTHER CUSTOMERS. They won't make your sandwiches until that specific time, instead sit there doing absolutely nothing as you sit waiting for sandwiches. Josie Ks is hands down the best sandwich shop in central. It is very important to get your sandwich fresh. Some of them, especially hot, don't travel well. They are bust these days so the best way to do that is to come in and order and wait. Online is risky because they will make your sandwich as soon as it's ready and it may sit around a bit. read more

This is the best place ever! I eat here more than I make food at home. They always answer their phone and hold times are short and infrequent. I love to bring my dad on Fridays for biscuits and gravy we sit and eat at their cute tables and peruse the cases of take homes, like lasagna. I've been eating here since they opened! My favorite place for a sandwich n soups. Sandwiches are always great n will fill you up! The staff are very friendly n so accommodating! They do offer meat loaf n lasagna take home n cook dish. The meatloaf has gotten very oily this last couple of years. It could be the cheese in it. The lasagna isn't very tasty anymore. The big cookies that look really great seem to be tasteless, unless they were frozen n then thawed. I tossed three of them. Waiting time can be long on a busy day. Be patient. Full sandwich is a lot of food; I'd go for a half next time. - Tuna salad sandwich: also pretty much what you expect although not as stuffed as the turkey sandwich. Ordering is easy; prices are reasonable. The cafe can get to be a bit of a zoo inside what with all the folks waiting for their orders (they apparently have a good online ordering system, which we did not use). You'll find a couple of tables inside and a few more outside but Josie K's seems like mostly a take-out joint. read more

Jose Ks continues to be an outstanding takeout restaurant in the Sunriver / Spring River area. Excellent sandwiches (pasta too), customer service and excellent online app for order processing. Only concern, they stopped showing their daily soup special on-line. When we picked up our order today and asked why they no longer offer their daily soup special, the person at the counter said they do but that there is a glitch with the online ordering system. Great place for lunch. The sandwiches are a great size. I can only eat a half, but always order full sandwich to eat later. My husband likes the bacon sandwich, lots of bacon but well rounded with lettuce etc. plus the best take and bake pizza. I have been going here for quite a while since they opened had not been in for a couple of months. Well, I'm not sure what they've done but the sandwiches were not as good as they used to be. Meat was different bread was different. The meat was like what you buy at the grocery store in the little packages. It was so thinly sliced did not taste like a deli meat sandwich. My favorite sandwich is the Dagwood! I've tried most of their menu and it's all yummy. Their soups of the day are great too. It's a cute little location where you can sit and have lunch too. For those who like to preorder they have one of the best (Square-driven) online ordering systems in Sunriver (where at several places you either need to call or the online ordering is unreliable). The must-try's include: the meatloaf sandwich, the dagwood, and the tuna salad (which is awesome, not too much mayo). The chili, oh my gosh, the chili is literally some of the best chili I've ever tasted. And don't go home without buying a sheet of fresh lasagna (in several varieties) for dinner and, while you're at it, grab on the Sister's frozen pies (e.g., marionberry) which is one of the best marionberry pies I've had in Bend. And that little biscotti they include with every sandwich -- very good as well, not rock-hard like most. Asks: let you order lasagna, drinks, and pies online.
