The 1st time I visited NY Sub Shop was prob 2 or 3 yrs ago and I thought it was pretty great. So great in fact, that I went back a couple days later to get it again. The 2nd time was a disappointment, so I hadn't been back in a long time. Today, my buddy suggested we try it again and I'm glad we did! I ordered the meatball after getting some suggestions from the cashier. I opted for onions and peppers and am so glad I did. They were very generous with the peppers, which were a pickled medley of peppers. If you'r enot a huge fan, I might request they go light because there were a lot. I loved it! The sauce was hearty and rich and the meatballs had a nice texture, not too mushy and not too course, just right for a sandwich. The bread was pretty nice too, with a decent tug. I kept the sandwich wrapped in the foil like a burrito and stayed pretty clean. I ordered the half and as I sit here writing this a few hours later, I still feel full! I was glad to have another good experience at NY Sub Shop and will def be back. read more

Excellent service at the front counter by friendly and fun gentleman. He had a straightforward, easy to understand menu and instructions on how to order on the wall above him. Dining area was minimal but clean and well maintained. A lot of school age kids were eating lunch at the time, but they were respectfully enjoying their meals. We enjoyed our subs. We had the Wall Street and the Manhattan. Quality meat, fresh bread, and veggies. Original fun murals on walls. Happy kitchen staff with the food coming out rather quickly. My wife and I ate there last week. I had the pastrami sandwich and I enjoyed it, but I'm use to eating the basic pastrami sandwich with the juicy pastrami on a roll with just mustard and pickles and the ones served at the Jewish delis. Bend OR The stars are for the sandwich and the friendliness. I thought a little spendy but a full Sammy is a lot of Sammy. Enough for three meals. What I didn't like at all was the salad. It was basically the shredded lettuce they use in the sandwiches and some tomato and cheese. Don't get the salad. Stop at Safeway and buy one from the deli instead. Cheaper and better. I really liked the croutons. Should sell those separately. Still a solid four. You got to try the Sammy's. read more

Let me start by saying the food tased good. The problem was not much for your money. I realize things have gone up but $10.50 for a small sandwich no chips or drink I thought was a bit high. One of the best sandwich shops in Bend. Been coming here for five years and all staff, from the cashier to the folks in the kitchen, are always friendly, courteous and prompt. Sandwiches are, in my experience, always very consistent. The cookies are a secret weapon, don't sleep. My favorite decadent lunch is the pastrami, a Bundaberg ginger ale, chips and a cookie. Delicious! Then I take a nap. Under Covid, they've got procedures down well. Limited space, distance markers for customers, and everyone masked. Very comfortable grabbing a sandwich here. read more

We're visiting Bend from Southern California. We spent an hour in our car trying to figure out where to go for lunch and happened upon this awesome sub shop. Super nice employees and the sandwiches are AMAZING! My daughter had the Broadway, my husband had the Park Avenue and I had the Wall Street. The bread is light and freshly baked every day. Oh, how can a hole in the wall sandwich shop be so good?!! I found them while dropping off a package at the neighboring UPS store. There was no way to miss the baked bread smell. The employee told me what their best selling sandwich was and what she liked- the ham and cheese. That's what I did, ham and cheese toasted with the works. I'M ADDICTED. They bake their own bread, I don't know what the sauce is they put on the ham and cheese but it's amazing. This is to the owner or manager. I tried to email or call, but your website does NOT have any contact information. NY Sub was my fav sandwich place in town. However, last Thursday, I bought my usual, and when I got home, the bottom bread was completely wet and mushy. Usually the bread is eatable. Today, I ordered my usual 8", and when I got home, it was 6" with a lot fewer toppings. 2 inferior sandwiches out of 2. Two different people made the sandwiches. Is this your new normal? I think you're sandwiches are pricey, but I've paid up cuz I think they are tasty. A soggy sandwich or a 6" one is NOT worth $9. read more

The sandwiches here are pretty standard. The are good for getting a quick bite and overall beat out the chain sand which shops but definitely don't come close to the kind of sandwich you get and a New York deli, which was what I hoped for based on the name. read more
