What to say, what to say. It has a neat decor. It is clean. It is pretty much like all the rest. Did I mention it had a neat decor? I like the original on their sourdough bun. But I will venture into specialty sandwiches when they have them. Not sure why, but I do like their sandwiches. Did I mention this one has a kewl decor?

I have given this location a few chances, but this past visit will be my last. (which is disappointing, because I normally LOVE Schlotzskys). This location closes at 9, so we figured we were fine getting there at 7:50pm. We were wrong. The employees were already packing things up, emptying iced tea containers, closing off seating sections of the tiny restaurant. More disappointments were delivered with our sandwiches that were made incorrectly. My husband and I both ordered the same thing, right off the menu, and both came out missing different ingredients. Wish this place would hire some employees who care about their establishment.

My BLT. A little too toasted, but yummy.

The sandwiches, soups and salads are good at this location. However, the service is not friendly.

Back then, I believe we used to have a flyer/menu from them that some employees ordered from. I visited on a cold day where most of the customers were taking their orders to-go. The setup is a little confusing at first, but you just go down the serving line and stop when someone asks you for your order. You can get a tray, or not, depending on how many plates or dishes you ordered. The ready area (for dine-in customers) is weirdly placed in the middle of the line and the spot for to-go orders is at the end of the line next to the last register. Once your order has been places, you grab the ticket and take it to a register. This setup reminds me of a little local deli I used to visit regular in Stafford. I will say that their selection of hot sandwiches and specialty sandwiches is limited. Most are 1 protein only which is probably how they can keep their prices so low. I asked the order taker if you could customize or make a hot roast beef sandwich or toast it and first she didn't understand me, then she just repeated the two hot sandwich options from the menu. I again asked can you make the sandwich toasted, then she said yes. The sandwich, by default, comes on French bread. I wasn't familiar enough with the menu to pick another bread so I just stuck with French. I chose provolone cheese. It comes out after a few mins and it's nicely toasted and ended up being a nice size sandwich with an adequate meat to bun ratio. The sandwich also comes with a pickle spear. I also added a cup of homemade chili which is pretty decent. The meat is finely ground and I prefer it to be more coarse, but the flavor was good. All of their entrees and side dishes have low prices. One of the best deals is the "classic" sandwich which comes with prosciutto. An even better deal may be their baked potatoes with 4 toppings for only $2.09 weekdays!

My wife, my son, and I were driving back from a trip to Livingston when my wife suggested Chicken Salad Chick. At first I thought, "Only chicken salad?" But she started listing the options- buffalo chicken salad, barbecue chicken salad, chicken salad with apples and grapes, plus pimento cheese. So, I figured it was worth a try. The restaurant has a trendy, down-home vibe, kind of like being at a cool aunt's house. The girl at the counter was great and very helpful with ordering, and I like fast-casual places that bring the food out to your table. I ordered a Dixie Chick chicken salad sandwich with macaroni and spicy pimento cheese. My wife got the Classic Carol on a croissant with broccoli soup and grape salad, and my son ordered the turkey club with macaroni and a side of buffalo chicken salad. The chicken salads were fresh and tasty. The Dixie Chick and the pimento cheese were my favorites. The macaroni was a bit of a letdown, not bad, just nothing special. The other standouts were the broccoli soup and the grape salad. The Classic Carol was good but a little plain for my taste. I also tried the red velvet cake, which was really good with excellent cream cheese frosting. Overall I'd recommend it, especially if you want something different from the usual fried chicken spots.
