Don't do business with Hanover Alliance. I called to have keypad fixed - it stopped working. I…read morechanged battery but it still did not work. I called Alliance, Hanover because they installed the keypad about 2 years ago. I called on Monday morning and was told they would get to me sometime that week. I called Wednesday to get a more definite time - was told they would call back. In the meantime, while waiting for a callback, I called someone else. They came to the house within the hour. The keypad needed to be reprogrammed. Sometimes when the battery dies, the keypad needs to be reprogrammed. Instructions are in the box the keypad came in. Well, I was not left instructions. I asked the guy at the time the keypad was installed how I change the password. He told me I couldn't, I had to call the company. No instructions were left with me. I found out that was a bold face lie. BTW - I waited all day for a callback. Alliance, Hanover is terrible. Have an honest, more reliable company do your work. I will never ever call them again.

I was told an updated estimate would be provided. Several days later I had heard nothing so I reached out again and was told it would be provided shortly. Almost a month later and still no reply so I once again emailed regarding this estimate since we had already hoped the door would have been replaced in this lengthy time span. I finally get a reply telling me they had been very busy, which means as a customer, my time was apparently not important enough for a few minutes. After all this time of waiting and having to be the one to reach out to them, I am told they cannot even do the job. The job they told me they could do. Give your customers respect, show them they matter, and if you tell them you can do the job and later decide you cannot....please have the decency to let the customer know that. I now have to start over with a better business apparently. Thanks for wasting our time.

Guy showed up, was very nice but put the high pressure sales pitch on. When I didn't bite, he said "Did the office tell you about the $69 service call fee?" No they didn't, just that you would be in touch. He offered to remove the taxes if I zelled it to his personal number. I balked at all of it since it smelled fishy and I should be told about the fee ahead of time - I just asked for a quote. When I said I was going to call the office in the morning and not paying - he wished me the best and left. Based on the other reviews, I won't bother calling and complaining. Don't call this business....

I scheduled a service date with Hanover so that I would be the first job of the day. In order to accomplish this, my date was a little father out to accomodate the first call request. This was totally acceptable to me. On the date of service, the arrival time of the technician (Juan) was to be between 8:30-9am. By 9:30 the tech had still not arrived I called the company and spoke to Darlene. After explaining the situation and not liking what I had to say she hung up on me. Really? The residential garage door industry is very competitive and there are a number of high quality firms out there. Hanover Garage Doors is not one of them. They obviously have no respect for their customers. You're better off going elsewhere.

One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They are massively overpriced,…read moredemand payment before finishing the work, and will shirk all responsibility if they break something in your home.I hired them to update wiring in an older home with knob and tube wiring, accepting a quote of nearly $5,000. They did fine on the other areas, but completely broke my stairs' landing light. This light worked perfectly the night before they started. They were specifically paid to update the switch. The moment the technician left, the light was broken. When I called, they immediately denied responsibility and claimed it "might not have been working" before--flat out ignoring that I was there the night before using it. To make matters worse, they had the nerve to quote me an additional $2,800 to fix what their own technician just broke. What followed was a painful 6-week ordeal of poor customer service and constant lies. I spoke to management, who promised their senior technician, Anthony, would look into it. Instead, I was ghosted for weeks. Every time I called, I got the run-around: "we will call you Wednesday," "we will call you tomorrow," "we will call you Monday." No one ever called. I had to chase them constantly just to speak to a receptionist. Finally, a manager named Mike called me back. He gave me the run-around, claiming they aren't responsible because "it's knob and tube wiring." He actually expected me to fully shoulder the cost to repair the damage they caused. When I asked him to at least deduct the cost of the switch update from my original bill to account for the broken light and weeks of terrible service, he refused. When I told him I would contact my attorney if they didn't make it right, Mike condescendingly replied, "go ahead."Mike called back later and said, "Let me see what I can do. I've been down the legal road before, but sometimes people are just unreasonable." Not only did he call me unreasonable for wanting what I paid for, but he openly admitted he and this company have been down this legal road before for similar issues. This company seems to think that because a house is old, they have a free pass to cause damage without accountability. That is not how the law works. I have already contacted my attorney, as this company would clearly rather settle this in court than make a good-faith effort to correct their mistakes. If you use this company, beware: if they break something, you will have zero recourse, and they will nickel-and-dime you to pay for their blunders. Completely unprofessional at every level. As I have not heard back yet again and no good faith effort has been made to make this right. It looks like I'm going to be starting litigation just to get them to reimburse me for the work they failed to complete and the wiring and light they broke.
