What a neat winery! First off, GPS will probably take you right past it but they had plenty of signage. Second, the hospitality is amazing and the wine is delicious! Not too far off the exit from I-71, this was fairly easy to find. I've been wanting to visit this winery for a bit so I was glad to find the time to visit. for the tasting, there is a small fee (which you will run into any visit to a winery in Kentucky). I had the pleasure of having a great conversation with the owner about how they came to own the building and how they became winemakers. After telling my mom about the visit later, I learned that my grandmother had attended the school the winery was located in while she lived in the area during the '30s. This was a really cool tie-in for me. Being in an old schoolhouse, the names of the wines reflect school themes. Wines were named "Prom Night", "Recess" and "Teacher's Pet" along with others along the same line. I appreciate this type of theme and the wines were so good! They had a nice selection of reds and whites. There were board games and they often have events or live music. When I'm back in the area, I look forward to stopping by again.

Wine samplers....so good!!!!

We decided to give the Grape Vines a try for a few drinks before my birthday dinner. We had so much…read morefun! We ordered a few wine flights, a few single pours and a charcuterie board. The board was served quickly and was very good! This is such a cute little place and I think it would make a perfect date night! It really got my birthday night kicked off perfectly!!

Visiting the area and wanted to do a wine tasting. Called them up to see if there's any particulars…read moresuch as needing a reservation or if they only offered tastings at certain times of the day. There are none. You can stop by whenever you feel the need to taste some wine, tequila or bourbon Hannah, the manger, is so sweet. She reminds me of Joanna Gaines. She's one of those people you feel like you know and want to be around. Just a beauty inside and out. She was the only one there and had a few guests to help and she said she was having a bad day but you'd never know. She made my bf and I feel more than welcome and took care of us. We got a small charcuterie with nuts, meats and cheeses and added olives. The charcuterie was not what I was expecting from a winery. It was more of an adult lunchable than charcuterie. The cheese was like that precut Cracker Barrel cheese found in the store. I would have like to have had some freshly grated parmesan or mozzarella. Something that would pair well with the wines. I'm not a fan of Swiss. Love Colby jack and cheddar but those don't really go with the wines I had. I got a flight of white wines that are numbered in my 2nd picture. They were all pretty good but 1 & 4 were my favorites. I was able to taste a new wine slush they're offering. I chose the red wine slush over the white moscato one. I fell in love with it. I tried to get one to go but was unable to due to them not having approved to go containers for them My boyfriend got a flight of premium bourbon which he enjoyed. There are lots of cosy places inside and out to sit and sip your favorite drink. We did leave with a bottle of the # 4 wine I liked and garlic sausage though. I will definitely return for a slush!!

I was fascinated by this visit. I got a load of information in a very short time. I bought a bunch…read moreof honey too! Everything is made right there. Did you know that most of the honey you buy has been heated and melted into almost a syrup? It's stripped of its natural qualities. Not here. It's produced right outside. Each box contains 65 pounds of honey, and they have a lot of boxes. Honey is harvested just once a year. There's a plastic tray on each shelf that the bees build onto. The fil each nodule and cap it. The caps are also harvested for bees wax. About 30 percent of the bees are lost each year to viruses and diseases. They medicate the bees with an organic tab that is slid into the box. Sometimes they put a fogger right into the box. Each year about 50 percent of the bees are shipped down south in order to preserve them so they won't die here. The honey is sold in Kroger stores. The school also also has a bee hive on site for viewing, like the zoo has. They have a woodworking room right on site. You can purchase your own box. They educate people about bees there. The honey butter is amazing, it's like an icing. They have cinnamon butter, honey butter, bourbon honey and a couple other honey flavors. Anyone interested in the honey making process should visit this school. It's very impressive and tasty!
