The coffee is excellent: I ordered an iced latte. The chai was fairly good and enjoyed by my husband. Other than being a little on the sweet side, he didn't have any complaints. The place was bustling with many people and it had a great atmosphere. It was definitely a fun place to hang out and enjoy a drink. The baristas keep quite busy! The only thing that could use improvement is perhaps the friendliness of the cashier. She was efficient but not friendly at all. It felt like she was annoyed to be there. I didn't want to dock stars because of that, though. Everyone was working hard and efficiently, and the coffee, which is the whole reason I came, was fantastic. read more

This is a cute little coffee shop within minutes to Dixie highway. Since I love to explore local shops and do business with local shops, I instantly fell in love with this place. Their pricing is in the average range and their staff and customer service was amazing. They have great options. I am not sure if they have vegan options. I missed looking for that. They have nice little multiple spaces to sit and drink coffee or you can take out too. I especially loved their Pistachio tea cake. It was delish!!!!! This is a great coffee place and if I ever visit Florence, I will go back again. They are family friendly and business casual. They have parking right in front of their shop. read more

California resident / Texas native - I am confident in my espresso abilities and baking, so can confidently write I was very pleased with my experience. Espresso was good not great, far better than Starbucks but not quite what the "I amazon my own beans" freak may say. Probably far better with mixed drinks but my preference is to save the sugar for the pastries. The pastries were phenomenal. I got a blueberry breakfast bar type thing and the pastry base was fantastic - not to sweet, neutral, almond/vanilla base. Plenty of oats which I in fact prefer so I appreciate it. Blueberry jam could be more blueberry forward and less jam but still a nice topping idea and execution. The pistachio and chocolate chip cookie was perfect and had me rethink some of my recipes in my head. This was the highlight for sure for me. Nothing was too too sweet which is a bonus finding anywhere in the Midwest. read more

Hidden gem! I live nearby and never gave this place a try until now --shame on me! From the music selection playing through old school speakers, to the smooth latte and chai, it was great! It is larger inside than expected, however, it was so busy and a little difficult to get a small table. Once one was secured, my kiddos and I enjoyed playing cards while we sipped our drinks. People were friendly and knowledgeable. They use a variety of coffee roasters and have beans for sale. Definitely a top notch local choice! read more

This place was packed on a Saturday morning! Lots of seating available with cute plants in each table and bike decor on the walls. The back side of the coffee shop has a look of a Bike workshop but I learnt that it was for decor and no bike work is done here. The decor all in all is like an old coffee shop with mismatched furniture. If you are lookin for a modern chic place, this is not for you. Speaking about the coffee, I wasn't very impressed. The black coffee seemed burnt by the staff was very kind and switched it for us and made a pour over coffee for no extra charge. We also got a handcrafted coffee which I was excited for, but somehow it didn't really meet expectations. Food : there were plenty of baked goods to choose from, one of which was vegan almond cupcake. There was also 1 savory turkey sandwich option. I'd like it if they expanded their food menu to include hot sandwiches and have more vegan and savory options. I don't think we'll go back. Nothing about this place seemed exciting enough to bring us back to this coffee place. read more

Our all time favorite coffee shop! We are here at least 1x a week! We LOVE the seasonal menus. They always have a fun theme, always have unique flavors, and it's so fun to see what they create next! Found a fun little coffee house in Florence. Wow, the entire time hubby and I sat in here sipping our lattes, there was a constant line at the order counter. Smells delicious in here. Dining area has a variety of tables and chairs and even some leather pairs of chairs. Very comfy with the soft hum of chatter. Only two sugar free flavors: vanilla and caramel. Otherwise, a nice menu offering regular and seasonal flavors. Half dozen or so baked goods available for purchase at the counter. This place has been around for a while, and it never disappoints. The staff are all very friendly, while the coffee is always great! My first time here it was mostly a bike shop with a cafe, couple tables here and there. My most recent visit reinvigorated my love for the place as they have added more tables as well as a small amount of toys for children who come in with their adults. My son enjoyed playing with the espresso maker toy while I got amped up on my dirty chai. Fresh baked goods are also available at the counter so don't forget to grab your sugar fix. read more

My fiancé and I have been dealing with Internet outages off and on since we moved to Florence a couple of weeks ago ... so this morning when we woke up to ANOTHER outage, we decided to use it as an opportunity to explore some more of the community. Velocity Bike & Bean is just the place to work, study or socialize. This bike-themed coffee shop is decorated with a certain hipster charm that kind of makes you want to get outdoors and hit the road for your next adventure. There's also chill, indie music playing ... which mixes with the sounds of coffee beans being ground and old friends catching up ... creating the perfect ambiance. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable -- asking if you'd prefer an alternative milk instead of just assuming whole milk is fine, like most other coffee shops do. The drinks themselves are artisan creations with a subtle front. I ordered off of the special February menu ... and was incredibly pleased with the "Build me up Buttercup." Next time I have an Internet outage (which will probably be next week if the trend continues), you'll definitely find me back at Velocity Bike & Bean. read more

I did order a blueberry coffee cake but at the time of writing this I hadn't eaten it yet but I was told all their baked goods are homemade Now on to the coffee.... fabulous variety and an excellent seasonal coffee menu! They were just switching out the menu for June and I ordered the Cincy (something or other, sorry can't remember the full name) which had blueberry in it. One word...YUMMY! Staff was super friendly and helpful in making my choice. They also gave us some suggestions on places to eat in the area (since we were just passing through). Absolutely stop in here for great coffee and delicious looking (and I'm assuming tasty) baked goods! Parking may be tight if they are busy but they're in a stripe mall type place so you shouldn't have a problem. Pricing is typical coffee shop. My large, iced coffee with oat milk was $7. If we are ever in this area again this is a definite stop for coffee. read more

Hidden gem located just east of I-75 on 18/Burlington Pike! Great selection of beverages as well as a variety of tasty cakes , muffins and desserts. We had a group of 7 ladies on a Thursday morning at 10:15 AM, and it was difficult to find an area inside with enough seats for all of us - mostly because there were quite a few individual patrons sitting at a table with four seats but by themselves with their laptops. We borrowed chairs from some of them and eventually had enough chairs around one table for all of us. It's such a nice atmosphere to just hang out for a while, and clearly, that's what many people do. We ended up sitting in the back section of the dining room, near the bicycle repair area. The music was a little louder near the front, so we thought this turned out to be a great area for us to sit and chat, where it was a little bit quieter. While we were there, we enjoyed watching a little boy's bicycle tire being repaired while he waited. Other than the initial seating challenge, we really enjoyed our visit and we plan to meet there again! read more

Funny enough I discovered these guys existed from an episode of Catfish on MTV. The concept of bike and coffee shop together was intriguing! I was surprised to find they were right off 71/75 in Florence just left off mall exit instead of right (southbound). I came midday on Tuesday and the place was hopping! It's much bigger than you'd think with tons of tables, couches, and even a small bar. Lots of people were posted up working or meeting with friends. Luckily there were a few seats left. The front half is coffee shop, and the back half is bikes for sale and service. Even though it was busy the 2 people working took it in stride. The cashier took time to explain to me some of their unique options, such as oreo milk. I opted for the cola pop latte iced 16oz. The second person working was busily making all the drinks efficiently yet still chatting with customers. There were several delectable goodies available to go with your coffee, so I chose the raspberry lemon scone. They also had coffee from the local roasters they source from available for take home and I purchased a bag of Carabello coffee. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to make this a regular stop when down this way!!! read more

I've been wanting to visit this place for quite some time. It's in a small strip of stores that I would have missed if I was just looking for the name. As soon as I walked inside the doors, the aroma overwhelmed my senses. I say that in an absolutely positive way. It was an amazing smell of coffee that blew my senses away! As much as I love coffee, I noticed the tea varieties and chose a cold, passion green tea. One of the employees let me smell some of the loose leaf teas, and I was very impressed with the variety. The atmosphere is a very laid back, rustic feeling that brought back some nostalgia with old bikes and flowers repurposed in coffee mugs. I can't say enough how nice and helpful the employees are. The employees can make or break a place sometimes, and their customer service was amazing. They have a few sweets on their counter to choose. I chose a cherry, oatmeal cake that was beyond delightful. I will be back again to try some of the coffee. read more

Rotating monthly specials offer a fun variety to the menu, with good staples. A decent amount of seating but crowded so might have to wait to grab a seat. Staff was very friendly and even with a continuous line, nicely paced service. I ordered an iced Midnight Bourbon Lattee (May Special) with almond milk which wasn't overly sweet but delicious. Cutest and luckiest little find! I needed a place to work for the afternoon while my dog was getting groomed nearby and this place is a GEM. Spacious inside with plenty of seating. It was BUSY with friends, workers, networking, etc. and had a nice gentle hum going. The menu offers everything a coffee lover needs, plus some fun/creative flavored drinks. The baked goods all looked amazing, but I went with an Almond Tea Cake that was TO. DIE. FOR. like. so so so good. Paired it with the Honey Bee latte for a delicious afternoon treat.
