Bread anyone? Have passed by this place a few times and decided to stop on my way home from a morning dr appt. It's not very big but full of goodies. Tables of sweets and shelves of bread. There was also a few shelves of miscellaneous items (pretzels, chips, jams etc) They have various breads and all seemed lower than most markets. I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of stuff everywhere and ended up picking up a few boxes of cracker sandwiches (peanut butter, cheese) for my dad. $1.79/box. The worker was friendly and they weren't too busy. Def a place to go if you have children or like sweets. read more

Since things are so astronomically high nowadays, I decided to visit the bread outlet. It's been years since I've been in one. The lady working in the store greeted me on entry. She was very friendly and told me about things they had on sale and answered any questions I had. The store isn't that big. But if you're looking for the same bread you can get in the grocery store for a cheaper price then go here. Small store but great variety of different breads and snack cakes. Nothing is outdated. Everything was fresh. The store does carry some other items as well. read more

The products were nice but not massive in variety. The prices were not too from from normal practices. The service was normal not out of the ordinary. She did nothing out of the norm of checking us out. The was not very many patrons, individuals came in obtained their desires and exited. is upscale 2nd hand Bakery and they have expanded their products since I was last there. Got Sardines, Dinner Rolls, Sprouted Bread, & Ciniman twisted rolls i used to get when i was a kid. Very reasonable prices too. read more

This is where I purchase all of my bread products. Whether it is slice bread, hamburger buns or hot dog buns. The price difference is tremendous compared to buying them in the grocery store. You pay almost 4x the amount in the store than buying the sane bread from here. I usually buy several loaves and freeze them until use. read more

This place is a GEM! Ok so I pass by it all the time and it looks like it's closed down but let me tell you it is not. The bread was so fresh there was literally steam in the bag and it was hot plus it was HALF PRICE. They even have Dave's! The customer service was amazing. We were the only customers in there BUT everyone was so nice and helpful. This is really the spot for all things carbs. read more

Yes! 75c for a loaf of Nature's Own wheat or Sunbeam white brand, even burger and hot dog buns! Dave's Killer Bread for 2 for $5! The expiration date for these are a week out, but freeze what you don't consume and you'll be good for the next several weeks. When you enter the store, the tables facing the door display the expired products. When I went, the products displayed where one day expired which isn't so bad. These are priced at 5 for $2 or 59c each (apple pies, snowballs, crumpets, donuts, moon pies, etc.) The non-expired prices of the same products go for 5 for $4. I wish these places were as prolific in Houston as they used to be (Mrs. Baird's Outlet) but I'm good with driving out to Washington to get this stuff. I just wish they still had cinnamon rolls!!! They had honey buns, ick, but no cinnamon rolls! read more

Been meaning to get out here and glad we did. The nice lady working there said they were hit hard by folks getting ready for Hurricane Laura but what they had was still more than enough for us. 75 cents for a loaf of bread that would cost you $3.44 at Walmart makes going there worth the trip. Don't worry about the bread, it's super fresh. Lots of tasty snacks in there at great prices. A lot of folks in here have mentioned them having Dave's Killer Bread but they did not have it when we were there but next time I'm hoping they do. The lady working there was super friendly. We'll be going back at least every other week. read more

I like this place since the Rainbo Outlet on Leeland went away, but I always forget about it and spend 3.99 on fancy grain wheat bread at Kroger's. Here's a TIP: Get a discount Honey Bun. As my last name at one time was Schott, I felt compelled to visit this store. The store feels a bit neglected and dark, but the breads are well organized and not too old. Pretty much any bread item you could want is available--buns, muffins, white bread, whole wheat bread, and snack breads. For the "day old bakery" I sort of expected some stale stuff, but everything I bought was actually really good. Cinnamon Raisin bread and Nature Made English Muffins cost about 1/2 the price I pay at Kroger, and the they tasted fresh. I actually bought a few different kinds and just froze them when I got home. Since I toast them anyway, it's no problem. If I had kids who needed sanwiches packed in their school lunches every day, I would shop here all the time. But I don't. The prices are excellent, but when I balance that with the convenience of buying bread at the store with all my other groceries, it becomes less attractive. read more

Selection is always good, the finds are hit and miss as far as what you may be looking for. The lady working there has been there as long as I have been going. Never any bad items there as far as mold, bugs etc. I know it can be a pain to make two stops but if you are eating healthy and do wraps they are a good 2-3$ cheaper than the store for sure! read more

I have found my new bread source. Since I moved to the area, I have been complaining about the cost of good bread. I dearly miss my Trader Joe's super-hard-core wheat bread with 6 gm of fiber per slice for about $2.50/loaf. The grocery stores around here have more expensive bread and that's for maybe 2 gm of fiber! Crazy. Enter the Sunbeam discount bakery. I stopped in here on a whim on my way to Target and scoped it out. Well, really, I beelined for the Nature's Own Honey Wheat - 6 gm of fiber per slice for $2.04! The expiration date was 4 days later, but whatever, that's what freezers are for. I glanced around a bit, but didn't want to be tempted by all the sweets (Chocolate-covered donuts! Chocolate-covered cookies!). All the unhealthy things that would probably survive a nuclear bomb intact. I swiped my credit card for the less than $3 purchase and was in and out quickly. I will be returning. Oh, great music, too - 102 was jamming songs that I remember from way back in the day...and made me feel old. read more

If you're ever driving down Washington and smell the aroma of sweet sweet carbs in the air, this is the place responsible for it. Until my most recent visit, the last time I had been here had to have been when I was around 11 or so when my grandma would drag us along on errands with her. This place gives me major nostalgia. It's a great place to find CHEAP CHEAP bakery goods. A regular loaf of Sunbeam bread goes for .75cents, 75 cents! How awesome is that? Besides bread, they have honey buns, wafer cookies (my childhood fave) and other snack cakes like moon pies! Despite this being a "discount bakery," the breads are still fresh and keep well. If your family goes through bread fast, this place is worth the extra stop to save some cash, especially if you compare the prices to paying full price at a regular grocery store. Passed this place for years and finally stopped in Saturday afternoon because I wanted to make French Toast for breakfast the next day and it was on my way home. I was super impressed with the bread selection and price. I bought a loaf of Texas Toast...French Toast worthy of course...some hotdog buns and 6 personal dessert pie pies for less than $6. I was pretty happy with the purchase. Then the cashier informed me to pick up my free gift before I left, an 8 pack of pre-cut sandwich hoagies...SCORE! I remember places like this from my youth. Good & cheap, short-dated items. Well, I was surprised at how "expensive" these discounted items were. No more 2/$1.00 or 4/$1.00 like I remember. The individual snack items were 2/$1.49, bread was $1.69. The Duchess coconut pie singles was almost 1 month EXPIRED. Asked the cashier about the date & she said they were still good but when I went to eat, it smelled & tasted "old". Did buy $5 worth of stuff to get the freebie (loaf of wheat bread) & if nothing else, my backyard birds will be happy. Enjoyed the smell of baking bread from the Sunbeam facility next door. read more
