Get the Roast Beef Relief - you'll be glad you did! I have been known to drive 45 minutes just for this sandwich! I've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. Mostly college students working here since Berry College and Shorter college are just down the road, but they're always friendly and respectful. College-y atmosphere, but great for families too. Lots of unique menu items - not just your typical fare. They serve beer (as well as soft drinks), but it's not a bar/grill. It's a cute little restaurant with delicious food! read more

I remembered the downtown Rome location from my days as a Berry undergrad ten years ago. Was very glad to see the menu hasn't changed much - still an awesome assortment of snacks, pizzas, and sandwiches at really good prices. The server working today was very friendly and the Charlie Dog, one of my old favorites, was as good as I remember. Huge drink, big basket of fries and a terrific sandwich with friendly and attentive service to boot - this is what a local restaurant is supposed to be about, all for under $10. read more

I've always enjoyed the local hippie Schroeder's restaurants. The music is classic, the staff is upbeat, and there are sprouts on everything! Due to my wheat allergy, I can no longer enjoy the sandwiches, of which there are many to select. But I still love the potato skins. The owners seem extremely reluctant to change. As one reviewer noted, they have had the same menu forever. I guess it works for them, but I was disappointed when Anna wasn't allowed to add some of her delicious creations to the menu several years ago (locals will know who I'm talking about). read more

I was in town on a Sunday for research and this was one of a few that was open. I am so glad I chose this place. The staff was super-friendly and the Samburger was definitely in the top three burgers I've ever had, and that's saying a lot. I had a cinnamon yeast roll for a sweet bite after. The sam burger is off the chain! You also can't go wrong with their soft bread pretzel with honey mustard. The new building adds to the experience, especially the airplane sticking out of the front of the restaurant that can be rented for party seating. Definitely going to do that when given the opportunity. Great restaurant and even better staff! read more

My personal favorite Schroeder's location because it's right next to Berry. If you are a student they run pretty decent specials. They used to do $.50 fries for the Berry crowd, and anyone can get buckets of PBR for around 5 bucks all day. As far as dining goes, it's definitely good. There are a ton of sandwiches, wraps etc. and watch out: they will put sprouts on anything. You would be hard pressed to spend more than around $10 for an appetizer and entree. They also run specials on appetizers if you are early enough. My advice- grab a couple friends and stop by their porch in the summer for some pitchers and appetizers. read more

This is the friendliest restaurant you will ever go to. The service is always so amazing and will cater to your every need. The grilled chicken pita is my all time favorite and has so much flavor it will knock you off your feet! Prices are incredibly reasonable especially on alcohol. I suggest you pick this establishment for your every day lunch needs. I come at least 2 times a week for lunch, if not more. Tacky, gimmicky decor. Less than stellar service. Servers often seem too distracted to be fully focused and friendly. Often feels disorganized and the staff doesn't know the menu well. Food can be very good, and I used to go there for lunch a lot because it's closer. But now I tend to drive to the Broad Street location when I'm craving Schroeder's. Very disappointed. Took over an hour to get my food. I ordered a chicken salad. It supposed to have tomatoes and black olives. The salad was very small. No tomatoes or black olives The menu stated they had fat free Italian. That is what I ordered. After 3 tries to get a fat free dressing. I settled for a fat-free Rasberry dressing. I don't think I will be going back. read more
